Wallpapers Are Back!

December 20, 2010

Last Friday, Managing Editor extraordinaire Wes Schneider spoke a little about the upcoming Carrion Crown Adventure Path. This amazing AP starts with Pathfinder Adventure Path #43: "The Haunting of Harrowstone" and a stellar cover by Dave Rapoza. In honor of the upcoming AP, and as a new feature on the Paizo blog, we're proud to offer the first of many new wallpapers. Just download the image below and in no time you'll be able to gaze at Feiya and Merisiel kicking the snot out of skeletons to your heart's content, all from the comfort of your office chair. This might be the first new wallpaper in a while, but it definitely isn't the last, so keep an eye on the blog for more in the coming weeks.

Rock! That's the loveliest ghost ever! And look at that fox catch some air ! (Did we ever figure out the name the fox ?)

Great art by Dave Rapoza and design by Crystal!

Thanks for the full image Hyrum!

And look, exclamation points! Yeah!

How about a resolution which makes sense as wallpaper? I like it, but the resolution is far to low (or my monitor too big). You should make at least 3 for the most popular resolutions!

I hope you do up some old covers as wall papers! Some of the AP covers have been phenomenal!

Really happy to see "official" wallpapers coming back!

It is excellent artwork and all, but the JPEG compression artifacts make my eyes cry with tears. :'(

I checked the character sheet at the back of Master of the Fallen Fortress; the fox is named Daji.

Hey thanks a lot, Paizo!

I actually was in dire need of a new wallpaper and you just cut a tiresome search short!

Great artwork!

Awesome wallpaper, but I have to agree with others here. Atleast give us the 3 most common aspect ratios (then the image won't be distorted when stretched)

4:3
16:9
and 16:10

Loveing the new AP already! looking forward to Feb!

I think they already provided the right ratio. They just mixed up the cover art mentioned Friday and presented today, with the wallpaper that was mentioned today and presented on Friday. A simple switch.

Bah, the monster poster is a fine wallpaper if your screen is portrait...

The design is actually mostly by Sarah. I just took the incredibly cool cover design she made for Carrion Crown and turned it sideways.

If you want a look at anything I've designed, you'll need to pick up some of the awesome PFRPG products released by Open Design over the past six or eight months.

It's 1600x1200. 1920x1200 would be nice, too.

Saved my day!

Aren't there more wallpapers. like the old ones. when I click the tag it just takes me back to the blog post.

Pathfinder wire-fu!

Those were from way back before they introduced tags. If you search the site with wallpaper, you'll find the rest.

As a user with a 16x9 monitor, I have to agree that the aspect ratio on the wallpaper doesn't work for me.

Wallpaper resolution comparable to 1080p would be best. 1920x1080, to be more specific.

Thanks a bunch for this Paizo guys! Gorgeous picture, you just made the first replacement to my standard mac background since I got the thing a year ago.

Heh. And I see this months later. What you missed, Lilith, it was all about "slots." She was on the list, naturally, but she took some former glories out with her ruthless wall-papering upwards.

Speaking of which, it sure would still be nice to have a widescreen version of this. 0:)
