In support of Wes's sarcasm: I actually didn't get the reference. Which is not surprising since there basically weren't any cartoons on Swedish television other than on Christmas Eve until I was ten. We had to make do with Czechoslovakian and Russian puppet-animation and be thankful for it!
(I tell a lie, there was also the Yugoslavian psychedelia of Professor Balthazar - which I'd still take over any toymercial cartoon.)

Of course it doesn't help that I've been watching the old GI Joe on the Hub,
(gods my childhood didn't age well, and I like Covergril a blond actually)
Jury's still out on the re-imaged GI Joe and Transformers. Transformers aside.

I loved that Dr. Mindbender was originally a dentist.
Even though (or perhaps because!) my mom is an oral surgeon, as a child I had the greatest fear of dentists.

Someone redid a lot of those old GI Joe PSAs with some pretty funny overdubs. Definately NSFW, but worth checking out.
