You know I would have thought Amiri would have been a nigh impossible iconic to represent, but Jodi does an AWESOME job. Far far better than what I would have expected from ANYONE honestly.
and yeah Epic (tm) Skillz in costuming! That took some time and a LOT of work.
I think Jodi makes a better Amiri than the one in the illustrations.
Here's an idea, if someone goes as the Space-Amiri (a.k.a Amirella/Barbamiri) from the GMG, they'd be dressed up as Amiri dressed up as someone else...
I think it's a very positive thing that just attractive and talented women have chosen to portray iconic Pathfinder RPG characters. And I really, really look forward to girls cosplaying at the Half-Orc Inquisitor...
So, you spent how much and how long to craft that outfit, and you didn't make the sword? Seriously? Please tell us you just don't have it in the pic but you did make it... :)

I'm not sure GenCon would allow a "weapon" inside, no matter how fake or nerf-swordy it is. I honestly don't know the GenCon rules, but maybe that's why.

One of the suggestions made in the Chatroom would have been to make SKR dress up as her sword. Which would have been hilarious.
As far as I know, a sword *was* made, but they had no real way to transport it. Costume looks amazing Jodi! Come by Society HQ next time, I want a picture!

They have foam-sword vendors (and, at least when I went last year, fake sparring matches using those foam swords) so I imagine obviously fake costume weapons are allowed.
But sword or no sword, that is one heck of a costume. Fantastic work.
(I don't know what it says about me, but I'm particularly impressed by the hair. It takes a lot of work, and a lot of hair spray, to get it that barbaric-looking. Well done.)
Amiri has always been my favorite iconic, and I was fearing we'd have some Italian (nothing wrong with my ancestry at all) woman pouring out of her straps. Jodi does a fandamtastic job of looking the part.
As for my second fave, I'm torn betwixt the oracle and Seoni.
Yay pictures! Thanks for posting things--keep it up! I want as many as I can get haha. The sword was one of those things that I didn't "have" to have. We had it about half way finished, or more than that and realized that 1) We would have to be working on it in the hotel room 2) We'd have to check an extra back for $20 or $30 when we already had two to check and 3) GenCon may have been weird about me having it in the first place...so it was best to just not worry too much about it and wait until next convention that we go to :o). And btw, I have a new term now, "Fandamtastic." HAHA! :oD
Great costume and nice talking with you at GenCon. :)
I think I may finally be recovering from those kidney shots that Amiri gave me in the PFS HQ area. I was always warned not to upset a barbarian...
Angus
Yeah, Amiri is quite the feisty one hee hee!!!!
Next year, this is my only stupid promise this year...my resolution is that I'll go to Gencon '11.
And I'll even try to grow my hair out a bit and if there is anyone in the costuming, someone wanna help an Eando Kline fan? That boy needs representation!
