Gen Con Costume Contest Reminder!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Just a quick reminder that this is your last chance to start getting things ready for the Third Annual Paizo Gen Con Costume Contest! For more details, you can always refer back to the official announcement, but the short version is that if you come by the booth during Gen Con wearing quality Pathfinder cosplay, you've got the chance to win both cash and cred from the Paizo staff. So bust out those sewing machines and start working!

Now, since no blog would be complete without art, here's Jenny Poussin as Seoni, her costume courtesy of Paizo messageboard regular Laithoron. It's unclear whether their powerhouse partnership will actually be competing this year, but at the very least they should give you some inspiration.

The real question is when is Paizo going to come out with the Girls of Pathfinder Calendar??

But to answer your question... no. ;-)

There's a few more pics over on my DeviantArt profile so feel free to head on over and check them out. There's also some in-progress photos on the dress form too, but those aren't nearly as dramatic. ;)

Hopefully next year I'll be able to attend GenCon for the first time. I'd love to see how it stacks up to DragonCon. Have fun everyone! :)

Jenny=Seoni...I tink im in luv

I am casting myself into man exile ...

... but yes, yes I have.

I do have to try to make it to next gen con. I've never been to a con before and I've been dying to go. Just so friggen hard it seems. Plus I totally want to pathfinder myself out >_<

You're going to be at Dragon*Con? That's really cool! Last year was my first miss in eight years, I think. I love going and was sad I had to skip the Con last year, especially with Shatner and Nemoy in attendance, but that kinda thing happens when you're trying to buy a house, I guess.

By the way..does anyone here think any of the FOUR different Jenny Poussin's on Facebook are the real Jenny? Somehow...I doubt it.

All very nice and all- but how about some strappin' shirtless dude as Valeros? Jes' sayin'.

I've been going to DragonCon for several years now, but I'm starting a new position in the company I work for on Monday so I'm not sure if taking a vacation so soon will pan out this year. Kind of taking a wait-and-see approach at this point. :)

As for Jenny's Facebook profile, she really doesn't go by that name anymore so I can assure you that none of those are her. She's trying to make a break from some of her past work to pursue acting and is now going by her other given name, Veronic.

EDIT: Filtering myself here

TECHNICALLY, Valeros isn't shirtless. Now Seltyiel has a lot of chest action going and I think he's bad ass anyway.

To be fair though, if one gender is going to be promoted, the other one should be too.

Of course I'm just tired of reading the worship posts anyway >_<. But hey, that's my own hangup.

It could be from that famous adventure where Valeros goes to put on what he *thinks* is a cambric shirt, but is actually a Mimic, and so of course he tears the faux-shirt off, and works up quite a glistening sweat while doing so.

It could happen.

Ha! Yeah, I figured as much. It's kinda sad how many people are willing to pretend to be someone else just so they can get a buncha friends on their profile. Or maybe that's exactly why they do it..getting kicks out of tricking people. C'est la vie, I guess.

Hey, we work with what we've got. If somebody wants to send us some correspondingly excellent costuming of, say, Seltyiel, we'll blog that, too! (Hell, one or two folks might tack that one up on their wall at home...)

Oh, no complaints here! The fact that I can even voice a silly comment like this on a gaming board without being deluged with stupid comments (and trust me, it's happened) - is just one of the many reasons I like Paizoland so much...

That said: the Gods demand beefcake! Calistria, for one, is gonna sting y'all on your unmentionables unless you make with the equal opportunity eye-candy...

LAITHORON is right: I don't have a Facebook profile under my name "Jenny Poussin" anymore, so all the ones you see are fakes. I'm still on MySpace, OneModelPlace and ModelMayhem under the name Jenny Poussin. The only active FaceBook I have is under my name: Veronic Fay.
If you see tons of gamers as friends: you know you have the right FB! :-)

BTW I wont be at GenCon like I initially wanted but should be at DragonCon if all goes well!

And while we will be very sad not to see you at Gen Con, I certainly hope you get to Dragon*Con, and have an amazing time!
