Mm, shiny!

Must. Have. Now!

Though I don't know why the witch has the whole Seoni thing going on as far as the hair goes.

Hells yeah! Witch, Alchemist! Sea Serpents!

Dark Archive

i'm sure thats a linnorm... and WOW, (if only i could afford it :< )

Silver Crusade

<3 WAR

Glad to see the new iconics getting representation on this cover. The local alchemist and witch players are going to appreciate this. ;)

(but no inquisitor? sadfaec She and the summoner need some cover love at least! Oracle and cavalier are getting theirs!)

Dammit. Ninja'd before I corrected myself!

Whoa... *drool*

Dark Archive

Wow, that's an amazing cover! If only Paizo would provide prints of Reynolds's cover artwork.

Wayne's booth was conveniently next to Paizo's at Gencon ...

Lilith got a special something from a certain Creative Director and I got my favorite iconic for myself.

Dark Archive

Thought the Witch was Seoni at first ;), they are gunna be some cool models to paint, once Reaper get their hands on this...

Shadow Lodge

Pretty awesome and frosty.

I've invented a drinking game. Whenever you happen upon an illustration by Wayne Reynolds in an RPG book or on a MTG card, you take a drink. That said, he's one of my favorite illustrators.

Awesome cover though... our new iconics look like old friends already!

It is indeed a linnorm... and it is indeed only one linnorm.

It's the Advanced Player's Guide, after all... so we wanted those PCs fighting something CR 20ish. Like a two-headed tarn linnorm.

Already sculpted my friend! We have seen the sculpts and they are amazing! Reaper will release them at GenCon with the APG.

Too bad I don't have $1,000-2,000 for a plane ticket across the Pond then. :D

What I would love to see is a print-on-demand sort of thing where we can purchase prints of some of the covers, for instance Wayne Reynolds's covers for the Pathfinder RPG line.

I don't know if that's doable and what it would take but a guy can dream.

You don't have to travel across the Pond, Wayne hails from the UK :) And I'm sure he gets around on European cons as well.

My girlfriend got my WAR originals for my 21st, but he doesn't do prints anymore, and they are fairly expensive. Gorgeous though, the digital versions don't do them justice.

Perfect. You guys really do rock! But , just to be clear, does that mean the Linorm is scuplted too? Hmmmmm....Yummy...

Thanks to you and reaper I now have a nice List of things to paint....

Dark Archive

Love the cover!

Not what I expected, but still awesome!

Dark Archive

Me like!

Would the alchemist's name happen to be Vash?

Silly alchemist. Didn't anyone tell him you don't bring a knife to a gu... ahem, I mean two-headed linnorm fight.

Silly Shinmizu for thinking that the knife was his weapon. The knife is the poison-coated "ooh, shiny" distraction. The real weapon is the bottle in the other hand. Now, if only the alchemist would attend those AA meetings, he would realize that you shouldn't fight while drunk, unless you are a practitioner of Drunken Fist.

My alchemist is gonna be a drunken fist fighting alchemist that also serves as the party cook, goes by the name, "Cookie", and speaks with an eccentric western drawl. He is aces with franks and beans. Just don't tell him to cook anything different.

Awesome cover as expected from Wayne.

I love the one he did on commission for me that is hanging in my home.

Well....I was only going to buy one copy of this but if the rest of the artwork in the book is as good as the cover....

I guess I'll buy two...

(I have two hard copies of the Core Rulebook...the well-worn banged up copy that I use at games and a copy I bought at GenCon and had signed by the Paizo crew. That one stays home. :) )

Woo-hoo!

I still wish the witch had black hair, so I'd hear the Eagles in the background...

If paizo offered prints of Wayne Reynold's art, I would spent even more of my money here...

I gotta say, that's a really great cover. Best Action Cover yet (I think the GMG wins best overall - it's got that awesome classic Unearthed Arcana look).

The witch never had black hair, as far as I know...

Oddly enough, and I think I'm way in the minority... I actually don't like the cover that much. It's too white. Maybe once I see it in person I'll like it more.

Nah, I meant that "I continue to wish," not that "the witch still had."

What's wrong with white? (Other than the hair. Aww-aww!)

I think it looks misty and mysterious, the kind of place a tarn linnorm would be lurking.

New PF book?

Well new is relative, they have been talking about now for almost 6 months. But yes it will be a new book come august. :) Kinda likea players handbook 2 sorta or a unearthed arcane, or more than likely those combined and dipped in awesome sauce.

Linnorm? That alchemist and that witch are toast.

That is a most awesome cover

Scarab Sages

Awesome cover. Now I have to put in a preorder for it.

Edit: Done and done!

She does in Sara's avatar, or is that a different witch?

That's the same witch. What looks like black hair in that avatar is actually her crescent-shaped headdress.

I believe Sara mentioned that her avatar had a custom color job.

Edit: Or what James Jacobs just said.

I really like this cover! It's got all the classic elements, and is thematically similar to the Core Rulebook cover (with a male and female iconic battling a dragon-type creature), but I think I'm most pleased with its lack of clutter. The GMG cover especially has a lot going on, and for whatever reason whenever I look at it spuriously, I see a Christmas tree which I then realize is just Karzoug's green robe. I think this might be my favorite WAR cover to date, honestly.

So when do we get names and backstories for the new iconics? With GenCon at the beginning of August, seems like 2 a month for May, June, and July would lead up to the launch nicely.

Sometime between now and August.

Right now, Paizo is more or less on a skeleton crew. Seems like half of everyone or more is on vacation or sick or just plain recovering from shipping a couple dozen products to the printer in the space of only two months.

I do suspect that when we start doing them, we won't follow anything like a set schedule. We might do 1 a week, and we might just do all six in a row.

There's a lot more going on visually with the witch than I thought. The colour really adds a lot of personality. Very like it.

Finally a figure coming from Reaper that I must have..

Indeed. I'm particularly fond of Dungeon 143 but have all but given up hope of ever finding a high res image of the art let alone a print!!

As far as the Pathfinder art goes, a lot of it can just be pulled out of the PDFs, so I'm happy with that. :)
