Duplicate Brick (item)

Homebrew and House Rules

So I saw another thread with a similar title. I thought it was about a magic item. Apparently it was something about getting an identical brick of mini's that was supposed to be random. Regardless, I decided to make the magic item. Not really sure what or how, but here are some options. I'm looking for feedback and suggestions.

1) Brick that when placed creates a wall of mortared bricks (effectively a wall of stone). One time use probably.

2) Creates infinite amount of construction material (bricks only).

3) Gets bigger/heavier when used as a thrown weapon. ?? Not sure how to work that. Perhaps like shrink item growing to a boulder, thought it'd be thematically bricks and a brick cube.

Big fan of #1

#3 might be fun as well, especially if you had more fun with multiples. Such as a brick that can hit the same target twice or three times when you throw it once or a brick that works like a miniature stone call with like a 15' to 20' cone.

Agreed with Oterisk - #1 is spiffy.

Sovereign Court

#1 very cool concept ... assuming the wall orientation is parallel to the short face of the brick.

#2 meh

#3 Should turn into a "rain of bricks", creating an AoE attack and making the AoE difficult terrain.

Here is my take on how I would design it.
It looks like a simple brick with multiple scratches and scorch marks but studying it closely reveals a faint magic aura around it. If you place it in a firm position and hold it there while a command word is thought at it (it is telepathic), then remove the brick. A second brick appears in the exact same spot and cemented in place. Repeating this process could result in a wall, a bridge, block up a hole or any other use that the holder could conceive. Placing the brick, and thinking the command word is a free action, but you can only make an amount of bricks filling a X by Y area in a move action or X by Y in a full round action. Every time a brick is made, another scorch mark, chip or abrasion appears on it. After extended use the brick can look frail and weak, eventually collapsing and becoming useless. How long it takes for this process to happen is entirely up to the DM, be it 1000 uses, X area created, Y time passed or even never.

There! I like it! Feel free to canablise it however you want.
