Azata race. What would this race's stats be?

Advanced Race Guide Playtest

I apologize for not speaking about some of the current races in the Advabced Race Guide Playtest, but i have been very curious about what it'd be like to play a 1/2 Azata PC.

Is this race combination buildable in the ARG?
If so, what would He/She have as Racial abilities while still remaining within the rules?

If the character is literally the child of an Azata and a human, then you can apply the half-celestial template. Since a half-celestial has a CR of 1 rather than 1/2 it would be considered to already be level 1, so don't put one in with a level 1 party unless you want her to dominate everything. However, if the team starts out at level 2, then a level 1 half-azata would be somewhat balanced, albeit very powerful. Make sure to give the rest of the team at least a 25 point buy to make up for it. A half-celestial character gets a +4 on three abilities and +2 on the other three, so this is going to be incredibly powerful. She'd do best to take a highly MAD class or multiclass with two different classes that one usually doesn't combine because of MADness. (SPARTA!)

One thing that I've never been quite certain of is whether the half-celestial template's powers scale as one gains class HD or just works with racial HD, so if anyone could clarify that, it would be appreciated. I doubt it does, but the template is a little unclear.

If you want to make a creature with azata heritage but not literally half azata, the aasimar race is what you want. There will be variant Aasimar rules when Blood of Angels comes out, so you can customize one with the abilities that fit the particular back story.

It does. Hit dice are hit dice. If it wanted racial hit dice only, it would specify, like half-dragon does.

Yeah, aasimar is pretty much what you want. If you want to be especially azata-y, then be a cleric of a god with the azata domain (or maybe just good and chaos), a celestial sorcerer or a heavens oracle. An inquisitor that roots out devils would also work.

I must admit that i kinda fell in love with the concept of the hunting type of Azata. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
Thought it'd be cool playing a ranger.

Probably the Bralani? A full conversion wouldn't be terribly hard, as it's only CR 6.

+Str, +Cha, -Int
Darkvision 60
Resist 5 Electric
+2 Bluff, Sense Motive, Stealth
Whirlwind Blast: 1/day, it can attack with a scouring blast of wind, dealing 2d6 points of damage in a 20-foot line (Reflex half). DC equals 10 + 1/2 HD + Con mod.

Maybe give it racial proficiency in longbow and scimitar.

Done. Might be a touch weak, but definitely playable.

You could probably use the Aasimar as a starting point, then change things like the Spell-like Ability and Ability Score Modifiers to make them more Azata-like.

Thank you both.

A spell-like ability that deals damage is probably too powerful for an azata-descended aasimar, although not necessarily for a half-azata. To match the kind of power that the aasimars and tieflings have normally (a 2nd level spell as a spell like ability that does no damage) I would recommend Gust of Wind.

Why the name change to Azata? Is Eladrin copyrighted? Or it was changed just to avoid confusion with the 4E playable race?

I think azata sounds cooler. Plus, all good outsider subtypes start with a! Yay, illiteration!

Eladrin is WotC intellectual property. They weren't released in the SRD and their names are not considered open content.

It is. Paizo also like taking creatures/names from real-world myth and Yazata are both a real myth and pretty cool.
