Balack Giolan knows the location of hidden riches and wonders long thought lost, but there's a catch.
They're not his.
Will you brave the dangerous Ghostlight Reef, home to kelpies, giant squid, and a coal-black aboleth the locals call Dark Willy in order to discover what an isolated community is doing amongst the coral? Can you land on the inhospitable shore, and make your way inland to infiltrate their mysterious ziggurat? Delve into the lost mysteries of Midgard's fallen elvish empire, if you dare. Fail, and you may just become another blood sacrifice to dark forces. Beyond the Ghostlight Reef is a wilderness fantasy Pathfinder adventure suitable for 6th-level characters. Pregenerated characters characters available, Pathfinder Society characters welcome.
So a few questions. First, to be clear, we can create a new 6th level PC as long as we adhere to the PFS rules for PC creation (allowed and disallowed equipment, spells, classes, races, etc)? If so, are we looking at the standard 6th level wealth according to the WBL chart in the CRB?
Second, and perhaps more important, what is kind of PC everyone thinking of playing?
Standard 6th level wealth according to the chart should be fine.
As far as characters go, I'll put up a list of available pregens (if anyone desires to go that route) just as soon as they've been made available to me.
How about a PFS-ish character using the Midgard campaign setting instead of Golarion? Would seem appropriate. I would only use PF rulebook line and Migard setting materials. No materials from the Golarion Campaign Setting (AP, Chronicles, Campaign Setting, Player Companions, etc). All with GM approval of course. Mostly thinking Midgard Campaign Setting, Deep Magic, and perhaps Ravenfolk.

I was thinking of playing a huginn (never played as a tengu/kenku/etc before). Warpriest of Wotan, cleric of Thoth-Hermes, or a monk worshipper of Horus. I am open to switch to something else depending on what others want to play.
Since I have access to both the Midgard Campaign Setting and Deep Magic, I'd be amenable to that. My caveat would be to see the character in advance of game day so I can look it over and pre-approve without having to lose play time at the table doing so. It is a Midgard adventure, after all, so having Midgard-flavored characters seems like the way to go.

Well, if I go with arcane, I will most likely go with an elf transmuter or abjurer.
If I go with martial, it will be one of the following:
a human ranger with abominations/animals as favored enemies, water as favored terrain, and hunter's bond (companions) to keep in theme with the adventure write up
a human slayer (a class I have yet to play but which has caught my interest)
an undine swashbuckler (which also seems rather thematically appropriate ... if the race is allowed by the GM).
I may just build them all and see what the table needs at game time. :)
OK, I have built out the undine swashbuckler and a tengu ranger. Will also build out the wizard and then make the call as to which to play come game time.
Jeff, do you want to review player built PCs prior to game time?

Yes, please. If I see and approve characters in advance it means more time at the table spent gaming.
Okay, so if I understand correctly...we're sixth level, and we can use Midgard races and classes, correct? What dice-rolling method are we using; 4d6 drop the lowest?
Also, will we be doing a lot of swimming? Kind of a disincentive to play a heavily armored character. :)

I was asked a similar question in the thread for the later running of this game. Here's my reply:
As for the question of underwater, after skimming the adventure it would seem you could go the entire adventure without getting more than your legs wet if you play it right. The reef is the first obstacle in the adventure and the party must get through it to the island it surrounds. It could be done entirely by boat if you so choose. If the party decides to travel underwater with magic, that's a possibility. However, characters adapted to aquatic environs are not necessary for success.
I believe PFS characters are made using 20 point buy, so lets go with that, since I can't witness your dice rolls without you using an online roller. Yes, I'm open to Midgard material, since this is a Midgard adventure. Standard wealth by level will apply. Please run your character by me ASAP so I can okay it in advance and we don't have to waste game time at the table.
While we may be able to avoid going underwater, it may still be a good idea to carry some means of surviving underwater (other than holding your breath). ;)
I think I will play as Argix the Bright, a silver-scaled Dragonkin paladin of whatever the most appropriate LN/LG dragon deity there is in the Dragon Empire.
Whatever works best for you, though if I catch anyone at the table watching cute cat videos during the game, there will be severe finger-wagging and tongue-clucking rebukes.
the worst you'll get from me is hero lab on the ipad and maybe pfrpg rd on the iphone (for rules references if needed). Battery charge is a premium, no point wasting it on cute cat vide... <gets distracted by a coworker sending over cute cat videos> ... where was I? ;)
If you have a mini you can use for the game, please bring it along. I'll have an assortment of paper minis to use, but no guarantees they'll match up with characters well.
Jeff, sent you a message about my character. Went with a huginn shaman (Speaker for the Past). Ratty old bird who believes he must commune with the past to learn the true nature of the world.
