It has been a loong time since a DM.
Last timed i had time to play was with the age of worms.
I was planning to use the Pathfinder rules for the players and let the them play the scap as it is.
Have any of you done it that way? and does it work?
Need some help getting back to the game i love...

The game seemed a lot easier when I played the 2nd time(pathfinder PC's vs 3.5 monsters). If you want the games to be as difficult as intended a conversion is needed, but if you just want to DM/play then leave it as it is.

It's a great start to use the PF rules. I ran the PF beta rules for a "pre-adventure" so that the PC's would get used to the new rules (and me too!), as I'm running this by PbP here on Paizo's boards, it made it a lot of fun to see the development. What world are you using for the adventure? Oerth, Toril, or Golarion?

I strongly recommend converting as many of the monsters as you feel able. Some of them are going to be much lesser threats if you don't. Also, the BBEG in the first chapter needs to be reworked a bit. The template used in the magazines doesn't match what is used in the Fiend Folio (3.25). You may want to update that, but it doesn't matter either way.

I've got a few of the monsters converted, but due to it being the IP of WotC, I won't be posting it here (I will privately show my conversions via email). I believe that everyone's afraid of violating the IP rules right now, and I'm on the list of doing just that.

Thankfully, several of them have already been done for me (thank you beastiary!). Your constructs and spellcasters are going to be the ones that need the most work, especially the specialist wizards!

Good luck, and good gaming!

I've been working on preparing for a PF version of SCAP for a few weeks now, and will hopefully start the AP in the next few weeks (As soon as our current campaign ends). If you haven't already picked it up, get the Hardcover book. Also there is a lot of information to be found on therpgenius about SCAP. One piece of advice I received early on is that the CR for monsters/NPCs with class levels is lower in 3.5 then PF, so you will need to add a class level in most cases to any/all monsters with classes (3.5 Cleric 3 becomes a PF Cleric 4). Just be careful doing this in cases where the NPC would gain access to a new spell level.

The Bestiary has a lot of the monsters you'll need to convert, so start there. And most of the other ones you can usually get a pretty good feeling for how the fight should go, and tweak it on the fly.

I'm going to be giving my party a bit harder time (hopefully). They will have 5 players, each starting with a 20 point buy-in (converts to 27 in 3.5).

There's also a lot of good information in the archives of this folder if you've got the time to look through it.

Good Luck!

Cheers,
Ulf.

Thxs i have the hard cover book, and its relly cool :-)
i will be useing Oerth as the world or my own world.
found some difrent things on therpgenius that i can use.
I have 4 players and they will soon make there chars.

-Ulf have you convertet all of the monsters and npc to pathfinder??

No, just chapter 1 monsters at the moment. I took the stat block doc from therpggenius and did the conversions from there. It doesn't take too long, but there are some monsters that don't exist in PF :/

Cheers,
Ulf.

No arcane caster.....it will be hard, not at start but some adventures later unless someone multiclass.

Yes they will need that spell caster, maybe one of them will multiclass or maybe a npc...
