How do PCs find out about Shatterhorn?

I've just read Chapters 10-12 and one thing I didn't spot (but might have missed) is how the PCs are supposed to find out about Shatterhorn.

Did I miss a reference to it in Chapter 10, or if not, how do they hear about it as the Cagewright's redoubt?

I looked through those Chapters, and agree that there doesn't seem to be any direct leads to Shatterhorn.

After the whole thing with Ike Iverson back in Chapter 7, and with Embril still unaccounted for, the party should know that not all of the Cagewrights have been defeated.

At that high a level, and with resources like the Soul Pillars, the Star of Justice and access to high-level spells (Divination, Commune, Contact Other Plane), the writers probably figured that there should be no problem with the characters finding out where the remaining Cagewrights are.

In the magazine adventure, it says that Jenya uses a divination to locate the remaining conspirators and sends the party after them.

Waste of an adventure IMHO. Has no meaning other than getting rid of a host of powerful villains that mean nothing to the party. Just a dungeon crawl that gives the party nothing more than what they got in Foundation of Fire - a chance to fight the Cagewrights.

Better to pull all the Cagewrights out of the hideout, give the party some foreshadowing on their arrival and have them hunt down the party together. At least this would make some sense, be a bit different and add some excitement to the path.

I'm just using the Haunted Village adventure.

DD, are you using the Haunted Village adventure as a replacement for Chapter 11? And does that adventure entail doing what you just suggested?

Can you share a link to it please?
