Stats for Tyralandi Scrimm?

James,

Now that Dungeon is winding down, is there any chance that we can get the stats for Tyralandi Scrimm at different levels? I think it would be really cool to run her. She became my favorite iconic because of that mace!

<Everyone quit laughing right NOW!> :)

That'd be cool. Stats for the iconics.

I suppose I could post up her stats; they're at work, though, and despite it not yet being midnight, I'm actually at home. In any case, she's the only one who technically has any stats to speak of, so the other 10 iconics'll have to remain in limbo.

I think I'd be speaking for most here in saying that we'd love to see Tyralandi's stats James.

Not to mention her ability scores, skills, feats and such too... ;-)

And because she's got levels in a home-made prestige class... here's that too. No class progression table, alas, since I'm not sure how to code that in, but it gets the middle BAB progression and good Will saves and full spellcasting progression.

APOSTLE OF THE GREEN LADY
This prestige class is a slightly modified version of the Tenebrous Apostate from Tome of Magic, a prestige class that melds the powers of a cleric to the powers of a binder. Since Wee Jas is a goddess of magic, this prestige class has five levels of spellcasting rather than four. In trade, it only gains one good save (Will) rather than two good saves, and uses a worse Base Attack progression.
Requirements
To qualify to become an apostle of the Green Lady, a character must fulfill all of the following criteria:
Alignment: Any lawful
Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 8 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 5 ranks
Special: Ability to bind the Green Lady
Special: Ability to turn or rebuke undead
Special: Must worship Wee Jas
Skills (6 + Int per level): Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (nobility and royalty), Knowledge (religion), Profession, Spellcraft
Hit Die: D8
Class Features
The following are class features of the thrall of Malcanthet prestige class.
Spells per Day: At every level, an apostle of the Green Lady gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in a spellcasting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. She does not gain any other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for an increased effective level of spellcasting. If she had more than one spellcasting class before becoming an apostle of the Green Lady, she must decide to which class he adds the new level for purposes of determining spells per day.
Eternal Bondage (Ex): You no longer need to summon the Green Lady every day; you are bound to her constantly. You cannot choose a different vestige in her place. You can still attempt a binding check each day to negate her influence.
Green Lady’s Rebuke (Su): When you use the turn or rebuke undead ability granted by the Green Lady, you channel the energy in a unique way that blasts the undead with the displeasure of Wee Jas. You can use a turn attempt to deal 1d6 points of damage per effective turning level you possess to every undead creature within 30 feet. Each affected undead can attempt a Will save (DC 10 + your effective turning level + your Cha modifier) for half damage.
If you use a rebuke attempt, each undead within 30 feet is instead cured of 1d6 points of damage per effective turning level. This effect occurs instead of the normal result of a turn or rebuke attempt. You can still use these turn attempts in conjunction with divine feats, as normal.
Soul Binding: At each apostle level beyond 1st, your soul binding ability improves as if you had also gained a level in the binder class. Your apostle levels and binder levels stack for the purpose of determining your bonus on binding checks, the effectiveness of your vestige-granted abilities, your ability to bind higher-level vestiges, and the number of vestiges you can bind. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a binder would have gained.
Visage of the Lady (Su): When you attain 2nd level, your body begins to resemble that of an imperious and beautiful (or handsome) person. Your skin grows pale and your clothing always seems in perfect repair and well fitting, and you move with an uncommon grace. Because of these changes, you gain a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class and a +1 circumstance bonus on Diplomacy and Intimidate checks. Mindless undead can sense the power of the goddess of death in you, and do not attack you except in self-defense, or when ordered to do so by their controller.
Destroy/Empower Undead: At 3rd level, you gain additional power over mindless undead. You can use two turn or rebuke attempts as a single standard action, each dealing (or healing) damage as per the Green Lady’s rebuke ability (see above), except that the damage applies only to mindless undead.
Ghostly Body (Su): Beginning at 4th level, you can transform yourself into a ghostly form once per day. This ability makes you incorporeal for a number of rounds equal to twice your apostle of the Green Lady level or until you return to physical form as a swift action.
Acheron’s Glory (Su): When you attain 5th level, you can use a turn or rebuke attempt to deal 1d8 points of damage per effective turning level to every living creature within a 30 foot cone. This ability is usable once per day.

AND because she binds a new vestige... this too:

THE GREEN LADY
The Green Lady is a relatively obscure vestige. She gives her summoners the ability to turn or rebuke undead, an enhancement to their Charisma, grants the use of many arcane magic items, allows you to utilize a first-level arcane spell of your choice as a spell-like ability, and the ability to recognize magic items for what they are.
Legend: Once a high priestess of Wee Jas, she was instrumental in carrying the faith of the Witch Goddess from the old Suel Imperium into the new world after the Rain of Colorless Fire. She died in the Cairn Hills, and a small cult dedicated to her memory remains there today.
Special Requirement: You must either draw the Green Lady’s within sight of a graveyard or of any site sacred to Wee Jas.
Manifestation: The Green Lady first appears as a beautiful Suel woman dressed in resplendent robes of the faith of Wee Jas.
Sign: Your eyes turn emerald green and glow faintly, and faint shimmers of green energy periodically ripple over your body.
Influence: While under the Green Lady’s influence, you become haughty and elitist, and expect your allies to defer to your opinions and wishes. The Green Lady requires that you make at least one attempt to turn or rebuke any undead you encounter before you can attack it physically or with magic (unless you have already used all your attempts for the day). Filth and decay disgust you, and given a choice you must always avoid placing yourself in a situation that would soil your clothing or your skin.
Granted Abilities: The Green Lady infuses you with mastery over magic and death, and enhances your natural ability to influence and control your subjects.
Turn/Rebuke Undead: You can turn or rebuke undead as a cleric your effective binder level. As with a cleric, you turn if you are good and rebuke if you are evil. If you are neutral, you choose whether to turn or rebuke upon binding with the Green Lady and cannot later change your mind. If you have the ability to turn or rebuke undead from other classes, your levels in those classes stack with your effective binder level for the purpose of determining your turning ability. Once you have used this ability, you cannot do so again for 5 rounds.
Green Lady’s Beauty: You gain a +2 bonus to Charisma.
Arcane Knack: You can use spell trigger items, such as wands and staves, as if you were a wizard of your effective binder level.
Gift of Magic: The Green Lady grants you the use of one 1st level wizard spell as a spell-like ability. You may use this spell-like ability at will, but once you have used it, you cannot do so again for 5 rounds. You must pick your spell-like ability when you bind the Green Lady, after which you cannot later change your mind. Your caster level with this spell-like ability is equal to your equivalent binder level.
Lore of Magic: You can use Spellcraft to identify magic items. You must examine the item to be identified for one minute, after which you make a Spellcraft check (DC 20 + the magic item’s Caster Level). If you exceed the target DC by 10 or more, you also note any curses the magic item may bear. You cannot retry an attempt to identify a magic item.
Vestige Level: 2nd
Binding DC: 17
Special Requirement: Yes

Yup; that's her current stats as of half-way through Hall of Harsh Reflections. I've been rolling crazy good on the hit points, as you'll note; she's gained an average of 8.375 hit points per level; not bad for someone with eight-sided Hit Dice.

Ha, beats my Cleric/Wizard with an average 1.5 HP for four levels.

Sort of killed him off and went with straight cleric. Better this time... so far.

Question for anyone who knows...where does the binder class come from? I'm guessing Tome of Magic since I don't own that one.

Yup; Tome of Magic. The binder's a really interesting class with some great ties to mythology and a cool new mechanic.

Joshua Randall,

Do you find the class effective in play? On paper it seems to suffer from jack-of-all-trades syndrome (okay at doing a lot of different things, but not great at doing any particular thing).

(I suppose in Tyralandi's case, because she is permanently bound to the Green Lady, the jack-of-all-trades-ness evaporates. But the general question remains.)

It's working out really well, actaully. I only ever really bind the one vestige, and that gives me a ranged attack (magic missile), a bonus to all the Charisma stuff she does (rebuke undead and skills) and the ability to identify magic items on the spot is pretty strong. Wes Schneider's playing a full on binder in the same game, so he'd be better off answering this question.

But so far, so good, as far as Tyralandi is concerned.

James, thanks for the data. This looks intriguing, and since I have a player with a cleric of Wee Jas in my AoW campaign, I might even be using it.

I'm not sure, however, how to present the player and character with this information. How did Tyralandi get to be a binder, how did show find out that she could become one? Can you shed some light on this?

Yeah; that journal pretty much lays out how Tyralandi became a binder in detail. But the short version is this: She got involved with a cult and met another binder and started having visions about binder circles and then gained a level and presto! Binder!

Rhothaerill,

Mad Scientist Final avatar

I blame you James. Between the Tyralandi Scrimm journal and your postings in this thread I went and purchased Tome of Magic with the intention of changing over an NPC party member that I'm about to introduce from a wizard to a binder. From your descriptions and what I read of the class on WotCs website the binder class actually fits amazingly well both with his personality and with the campaign area (homebrew) he hails from.

I would have been interested in stats for the iconics, but since only one has them, there's probably no way to get them all done by the last issue.

So, I will ask: who is whom? Is the woman with horns and spots a Tiefling?

The iconics for the Savage Tide: What race is the woman who looks like a Pixie... is it "pixie"???

If there is somewhere where these answers are posted, I would be happy to get directions!

thanks

The woman with the horns and spots is a tiefling fighter.

The woman who looks like a pixie is in fact a human wizard. She wears a cloak made out of giant dragonfly wings (likely wings of flying, since she's illustrated as flying quite often).

Ah, the oft-cited request. Tyralandi is the only character that has fully fleshed out stats per se. The other iconics are tools for the editors/designers of Dungeon for illustration ordering purposes. As it has been explained, some of the artists don't play the game, so it's far easier to just order a set of pre-generated iconic characters to appear in an illustration.

Tha paladin however is based on a real PC that died, by the name of Abelard. (I've never seen Abelard's stats or history though.)

You're not alone, many people have made this exact same request before. We all love the iconics. It's one of the reasons why so many people are looking forward to stats and character backgrounds for the new Pathfinder Iconics.

Ah, and other folks would be better suited to answer this, is the wolf fur wearing female iconic based on DaeJin Moon?

Water under the bridge in any event. The Pathfinder Iconics look even sweeter IMO.
