Adeah deftly rolls past Curtzog, and fires her musket, hitting him in the shoulder, followed quickly by Kryas striking him with his warhammer.
Curtzog then swings at Thorson with his sword.

Botting Erric after 24+hours
Erric takes a step forward to get a clear shot at the gnoll that is not engaged in combat, reloads his crossbow, and fires!
hand crossbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14for: 1d4 ⇒ 4
He just barely misses the dog-faced creature.
The gnoll Erric fired upon ignores the investigator, and fires his bow at the gunslinger.
longbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
After that gnoll misses, the one next to Zommy drops his bow, drawing his spear, and attacks the halfling, giving it everything he has.
spear, PA: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
The crunching sound the spear makes in the timbers of the stairs next to Zommy gives the halfling some concern.

Zommy Boltslinger |
"FIRE!" Zommy shouts as he points behind the gnoll to try and distract him.
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Zommy's eyes narrow at the gnoll as he zips around the corner of the upper area and disappears, making his way back near his allies to provide cover fire and help with the boss.
Stealth Mode: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
I have a +15 but it's -10 when you're moving fast after distracting someone.
Zommy also keeps his eyes out for any random arrows that might come his way.
Standard Action: Total Defense, cause why not.
Adeah Silversong |
She takes a step to starboard, to clear her line of fire. She pushes another round into the weapon, aims it at the half-orc again, and fires.

Zommy moves to safety, and Mikail moves to a flanking position (Perception: Mikail: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16), and drops the first mate. Mikail notices that the grates he is standing on are creaking, loudly... complaining about the weight on them.
Adeah changes her target, shooting at the western gnoll (who she has a clear shot on).

Just a random thought.. what is the "Justice" like here? If we were to stabalize Curtzog and take him in to the officials, would he just be released or would he stand trial and be executed? Should we explore that route or just let him die on the deck? Mikail could go either way.. he hates slavery and certainly someone that took a pathfinder into slavery must be dealt with, but by whom?
GM..Silbeg |
@Mikail, the actual bounty is on the captain, not the crew. However, as they are pirates, and have engaged in combat, you should feel no more compulsion to save him than any other villain. You'd guess that he'd end up serving a lesser sentence than his captain, but that he'd likely be convicted and not just let free. kn:local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Thorson steps forward, but never gets the chance to attack, as the grate underneath him collapses under the weight of the dwarf and the halfling.
Ref: Mikail: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Ref: Thorson: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Both Mikail and Thorson show incredible reflexes as the manage to scamper off of the crumbling grate. Thorson is able to complete his move and attack the gnoll. He connects with his dorn-derger, damaging the gnoll.

Unfortunately, Kyras's luck continues, and he misses the gnoll.
Then, both gnolls withdraw, leaping over the side of the ship. Evidently they fear the party more than they fear the waters of Absalom's harbor!
You have not yet seen the Captain Waheeda Wardak, nor have you found any slaves. What are your next actions?
GM..Silbeg |
When Mikail looks below, he sees four slaves changed to the starboard side's iron rings. Three are Kelishite and Vudrani humans. The fourth is a gnome, who has been gagged.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
She appears to see you, and her eyes light up. She doesn't make any dramatic motions, but looks to her bound hands, and then back up to you.
He also sees a half-elf towards the bow of the ship, and a squat, powerful, and vaguely canine beast with foul-smelling fluids oozing from weeping sores across the scaly skin.
As it appears no one has Knowledge Arcana, you have no idea what it is
Kennel Master: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Thorson grits his teeth upon seeing the captive prisoners. Hoping to lure the half-elf and his creature away from the captives he calls out, "Oi, dandelion-eater! Is that yer mum or yer girlfriend with them der sores?"
Thorson then attempts to Hex the half-elf. I was wrong last time I posted the DC, should be DC 16 to resist hex. Hex will affect his AC

Mikail the Nimble |
Are there any bonuses to attack or damage to dropping in on top of the monster from above? It stands to reason in the real world, but I am not sure of the PFS rules.. Maybe an acro check along with the attack roll?
GM..Silbeg |
I would allow for 2 things. 1) High Ground bonus (+1). 2) Charge bonus (+2, but -2 AC). The acrobatics check would be to land safely, and not be prone. That would be a DC15 check to ignore the first 10 feet of falling, but you are prone if you take damage. Since this is a 10' fall, you would avoid damage with that check.

Looks like the image for the hold level was not in the back... I've fixed that.
Mikail throws a sling bullet at the creature, hitting it, doing a little damage. Discouragingly, though, the wound appears to be closing up as soon as it is made!
Is Erric still around?I haven't seen him post in a long time!
Botting Erric, since it has been over a day. He just double-moves down into the hold.
Kinore (the kennel master) sees the party coming down. He moves over, and casts Grease under Adeah and Erric.
Ref: Adeah: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Ref: Erric: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Both manage to keep their feet.
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.
The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple, and to their CMD to avoid being grappled.
The slaves scream, and try to move away from the monstrosity attacking them, but with their chains they can't go far.

Thorson jumps down into the hold through the hole he made up top, and lands with all the grace of ... a dwarf jumping through a hole.

I am sorry about not really posting or rping today.. work went to hell in a handbasket and then turned rather quickly into an epic fail from there.

Adeah Silversong |
When she reaches the lower deck, she just has time to size up the ugly canine before it pulls Thorson to the ground. Along the starboard wall she sees a captive gnome gesturing to Mikail's wayfinder. She must be the Pathfinder that was mentioned, Adeah thinks to herself as she raises her weapon. But right now, we've got bigger concerns. She takes aim at the creature and fires.

@Mikail, no problem. Life intervenes, and you aren't that far behind!
@Adeah, yeah I know the feeling. My currently retired Gunslinger 5/Inquisitor 8 had that going on most of his career. Are you going to quick clear as a move action this turn?
Mikail shows a great deal of daring, dropping down, and attacking the creature. Unfortunately, his mighty blow was not so mighty, but his attack appears to have given the critter its only current wounds. However, the wounds appear to be healing as he watches. Adeah then takes careful aim, pulls the trigger but there is no earth-shattering KABOOM! She swears under her breath, and tries to decide how to clear the musket.

Kyras charged foraward, slamming his warhammer into the shoulder of the half-elf kennel master. The wound seem strong, but not yet life-threatening.

GM..Silbeg |
You can crawl 5 feet as a move action. Crawling incurs attacks of opportunity from any attackers who threaten you at any point of your crawl. A crawling character is considered prone and must take a move action to stand up, provoking an attack of opportunity.
I'll let Thorson decide if he still wants to crawl based on the above.
Thorson touch attack while prone: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 4 = 7
Note: Thorson is still 'primed' with the touch attack. He can try again next round. Target is "Creature or creatures touched."
