Cool :D

Though yeah serpentfolk's face looks bit weird. Like it feels oddly humanlike and not enough snek-ish?

Though yeah, I shall wish stuff from my wishlist from wishlist thread is in this :D But serpentfolk, wyrmwraiths, primal dragons, jabberwocky etc are really cool to have back

I really dig the Wayne Reynolds version of the serpent folk

Very excited! Who are those charming Gollum lookin' folks?

Derry,

I'm assuming it's a Morlock. But I could be wrong. I'm just glad to see Wyrmwraith again. THAT was a cool monster. :)

I think that's probably a ravener, rather than a wyrmwraith. But I could be wrong, too. :)

Really wish they would put the deluxe rulebooks in the subscription.

I am amazed that Bestiary 2 will have a deluxe edition. That suggests that a deluxe rulebook subscription might actually make sense, assuming that they intend to keep this up indefinitely.

Oh, are we doing deluxe for each book now?

So far they seem to be doing just that.

Sweet!!!

SNEK!

I mean if people keep buying them right?

I'd get a deluxe rulebook subscription if that were an option. I'd keep my regular rulebook subscription too.

Was very happy that the GMG got deluxe treatment, but I thought that would be the end of them. That triplet: CRB, Bestiary, GMG felt like a logical stopping point for a nice set. Adding in the Bestiary 2, makes me want the campaign books in deluxe treatment too.

Wayfinders

Now the real question is whether the APG will also get a deluxe treatment.

I might have to step up my purchases then.

They haven't created a deluxe edition of anything in the Lost Omens line -- but they have created deluxe editions of everything in the rulebook line so far. Just making them all hardbacks is already a step up for the campaign setting/Lost Omens line.

The morlocks (?) look "nice".

I love the cover art too much to want a deluxe version instead, sadly.

Will this book have rules for Rovagug Spawn?

Make them and it would tip me over to buying everything in deluxe edition versions.

Currently I have stopped at just the core book because I know it would look weird on my shelf if the lost omens books were different.

I adore the finish on the core book, and you even suggesting it is tempting me to purchase bestiary in deluxe now.

Wow love everything about this cover! Somehow the serpentfolk look so much cooler and creepier than before!

Paizo isn't letting the grass grow under their feet with this edition. Awesome!

I have to say, I’m much less interested in Bestiaries now that they don’t give us the occasional PC option for Races/Ancestries.

Pretty sure Wayne called it a "Ravener" during a GenCon panel... but I agree that if it is, the color palette is maybe a bit ill-chosen. xD

Probably for the best when it comes to player content in a book that should be GM content.

Its not coming out for another 8 months!
Why do you torture us this way?
4 months notice would be better.

Edit:
I agree with Gleeful, Bestiaries should just be for enemies.
Have a special Player's Handbook maybe once a year with PC rules of Bestiary creatures.

Because April is the cruelest month.

I really like the new snakefolk design not gonna lie.

It’s also easier for me to believe that Morlocks descended from humans now.

Far too quick for my liking.

I don't think I understand what could possibly bother you about having more monster options. Could you elaborate? Or are you joking and it went over my head?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

So I love the new cover art.

Really like the new Serpentfolk art, I kinda got a Lord Voldemort vibe from it.

I recall a rumor that this bestiary would help patch up the dead levels in the summon X spells, is this true?

Wow! That was really quick. I'll defintiely be getting this though!

CorvusMask wrote:

I'll personally be using Yuan-ti pictures and using serpentfolk stats. I like the lore behind Yuan-ti and the different kinds and also like Eberron's twist on them. But it's really helpful to get an equivalent set of stat blocks on them so that I don't have to homebrew all of them wholecloth :)

Verdant Wheel

Nice, "brand new menaces sure to test even the bravest of heroes" so does this mean never seen before monsters unique in golarion?

While I certainly understand you might be disappointed, I vastly prefer this. D&D 5e's method of cramming PC content into every book they produce in order to convince players to buy the books really annoys me. I much prefer players to not buy DM books if they aren't interested in DMing. If you need stats for wild shaping (not sure how it works in this edition) or summoning then there's the SRDs and it saves you $30 on a product your going to use less than 1/10th of.

That cover art... wow! Using this as my phone's background now, can't wait for the real deal!

Dark Archive

I am okay with Bestiary 2 coming out 8 months after Bestiary 1, because there are a lot of monsters from the old edition missing.

But i wouldn't want to buy a new Bestiary every 8 months or even every year.

I have seen with Starfinder Alien Archive 3 that fatigue begins to appear if we didn't have time to digest the creatures in the second volume.

So, personally i wouldn't want Bestiary 3 before the end of 2021.

Eh. I dont mind books being released quickly as there is nothing that compels me to buy them immediately.

It and Wyrmwraith might have been combined or switched in this edition. We shall see :3

It could be an issue for people who want subscriptions for the free PDFs and have limited funds for luxury items like RPG books and accessories. This certainly can apply to things like Battles cases; since the subscription is such a large discount it can really hurt to miss a subscription shipment if you want to have them all.

Silver Crusade

I think things coming out as often as they have been/will be is building a buffer for the 10+ years of content that got 'lost' in an edition switch, and I ...believe I mentioned them either slowing down or focusing on newer content after the APG?

That being said, give me more Draconic options and I am a happy GM - bring on P2B2!

What are the chances we get a list of the monsters before January?

I plan on converting Mummy's Mask to PF2 and running it in January! I suspect many monsters I will just replace with similar ones from B1 and B2...

Grand Lodge

I really dig WAR's artwork...just incredible! As much as I'd love to have deluxe editions of these books, I don't want to miss out on having these fantastic covers. Yes, I know...I could buy two copies of each book. LOL

I will also add that I appreciate the fact that the Morlocks, horrifying as they are, still have the common decency to wear the little loincloth garments. Otherwise...echhh....

Really happy to hear we get Bestiary 2 so soon.

I love that they are pumping out content quickly, and also love that it is all free to use on AON. Its pretty sweet.

Hopefully we can get a new Bestiary every year!

I would expect some decent pacing on products for a while because (1) it's a new edition with lots of demand, (2) there's some ability to turn things out a bit faster because of the capacity to redevelop existing ideas/products, and (3) with the cancellation of the separate campaign setting and player's companions there's more focus on the primary lines.

Between simplified mechanics for monsters (YES!), and the fact that we have six hardcover bestiaries and large numbers of other books with monsters in them worth of beasties to potentially convert, I think we'll be seeing monster books on a regular basis, at least for a bit.

And man, he first bestiary? I am pleased by the formatting changes in a BIG way, so keep 'em coming.
