Goblins Again?!

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

Before I jump into this week's preview of the upcoming Goblins Burn! deck, I would like to mention that several Paizo products have been nominated for ENnie awards, including the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Card Game Base Set. I encourage you to visit the ENnies 2016 Election page to cast your votes.

On to Goblins Burn! Three new goblin characters appear in this deck. Mogmurch earned his title of arsonist through his love of bombs and other thrown substances, burning a wide swath through his enemies. Poog, warcaster of the Licktoad tribe, goes everywhere with his trusty toad, Flybreath, and his prior pet, Dogfinder, calling on the blessings of Zarongel to see him through tough spots. And Zibini tells fortunes for a living, looking into her trusty crystal ball for what is to come. Be careful not to rouse her to anger, for her piercing gaze gives a headache to even the toughest goblins.

The characters in Goblins Burn! largely rely on spells to seize the day. One such spell, Burning Snot, really captures the essence of goblin spellcasting: take a deep breath and let it fly! Another awesome spell, Oozikinesis, allows the caster to cover anything in slime. Boon or bane, the goo gets them all!

Of course, spells aren't going to solve every problem. For those times the characters just cannot get out of the way, there are pot helms and horn armor to save their hides. These prime examples of goblin ingenuity and dumpster diving are made from only the finest junk—the helmet even doubles as a stewpot!

There are also plenty of new items to capture the goblin spirit. For those in need of a bit of extra assistance, the Skill Slug is a tasty treat that really helps out. And as with Goblins Fight!, each goblin has a frog ally.

I'm trying to imagine all the new cards but Eliandra is blocking it!

Dark Archive

Henric has ruined my imagination :(

Zabini!!! <3 <3 <3 I love fortune tellers. Because that means scouting. :D

This thread is also falling under the Website Feedback forum instead of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion forum for some reason.

Can't wait to see what Burning Snot looks like.

I think Burning Snot is probably going to be a better version of Fire Sneeze or something :)

More goblin mischief, no doubt.

Who, me? That sounds more like something a demon would do...

Dammit—it's always the cards we choose for the blog that have the stupid typos that everyone (especially me) should have caught at 15 different points. On Burning Snot, "roll" should be "use."

Two power feats and Zibini's scouting is really rocking.

Flybreath looks really really happy to see that Slug.

Thanks for the updated Liz! It appears now that the forum title is longer:

Everything here looks super awesome. You've got a 2 power spell, a card that gives you skills for a turn, a card that cares if you have the Goblin trait, and an awesome looking frog.

....I'm so using this goblin to grab good things from decks.

Now I want "Oozikinesis" as an option for a kineticist! Forget waiting for mud, later, as a mixed element. Ey wan' da slime, NOW!

This is why they let me contribute to this game.

Subscription copies of Goblins Fight! will ship with the item Goblin Lockpick and a Blessing of Zogmugot (both Skull & Shackles promos), and Goblins Burn! will ship with the spell Fire Sneeze (a Rise of the Runelords promo) and another Blessing of Zogmugot.

We have made an adjustment to this plan: Instead of sending a second Blessing of Zogmugot with Goblins Burn!, we will instead be sending the RotR promo card Blessing of Zarongel.

To sum up:
• Goblins Fight! gets Goblin Lockpick and Blessing of Zogmugot (both S&S promos)
• Goblins Burn! gets Fire Sneeze and Blessing of Zarongel (both RotR promos).

(This comes from here.)

Is this still happening? If it does, I will probably be subscribing instead of waiting and buying the decks locally.

Y'know, it would be neat if there were a way to count some of the goblin promos as cards in our goblin class decks, so they could be used for upgrades. Just sayin'.

I don't even put promos in the box for OP, because you can't keep them and they turn into cruddy B upgrades.

I've felt this same regret, but I often love the cards, so we just take the cost.

That said, maybe there's room for them to some day count as AD or AD-1 or similar.

I am so tempted to get two copies of each Goblin deck so that my family can each play a different goblin and run through the Goblin OP when it is released. Is it possible to double up on a subscription, and if so, do you get double the promos?

Surprised Myfly hasn't answered already with an emphatic "yes!" It is doable, though I don't know how since one is enough for me.

I just went ahead and posted in Customer Service.

More specifically, I'm suggesting that the reward for the goblin mini-season be something like "Choose a character. You can treat Fire Sneeze as if it's in your class deck box." Or some such. People who don't have the appropriate promo can proxy like we're doing with Scale of Remembrance right now.

Then you have done the right thing. To double a subscription (or triple, quadruple, quintuple, or whatever) you just need to ask Customer Service to do it for you. Calthaer and I are doubling up on the Class Decks to save on shipping. He doubled his and we split the cost.

Eliandra and I should probably do that. Especially since she buys RPG stuff too and may possible end up near the free shipping threshold some months. And then we'll get them at the same time, and I won't be envious when she gets hers first! (or vice versa)

Sadly not free shipping; it's $10 off shipping if your order totals $100 or more, and from my experience that shipping is always more than $10 once you have that much product. But a discount is a discount :)
