A Cold Day in Hell and Infernal May-hem!

As I write this blog, I can hear the sounds of the warehouse busily unloading the 100th volume of the Pathfinder Adventure Path—a milestone that in the early days of Pathfinder we were not sure we would ever reach! It's time for a roundup of our newest releases as well as letting you know more about our May 2016 books!

December 2015 Releases

Illustrations by Wayne Reynolds, Dmitry Burmak

It's been a long road to get here—over eight years ago, Paizo released "Burnt Offerings", the first part of the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. Roughly 9,504 pages later, here we are at the super-sized 100th volume in "A Song of Silver," with 132 pages of content for your perusal and gaming pleasure. In addition to the 10th-level adventure penned by Creative Director James Jacobs, new monsters, and the Pathfinder Journal by Stephanie Lorée, we've added extra content for this volume. Publisher Erik Mona opens up and tells of the faith of the god Aroden, whose death over one hundred years ago caused catastrophe after catastrophe in the Inner Sea (and beyond). Each of the previoius Adventure Paths have one of their NPCs detailed and given further background, such as Garavel from Legacy of Fire!

May 2016 Annoucements

In May, you'll be asking yourself if you brought a flag with the fourth part of the Hell's Vengeance Adventure Path! Written by resident antipaladin Designer Stephen Radney-Macfarland, "For Queen and Empire" will give your characters a chance to really get their hands dirty: by entering into the politics of the imperial court and earning the personal favor of Queen Abrogail herself. And don't forget—May 27 through 30th is PaizoCon 2016, where you'll be getting a chance to sit down and game with Paizo staff, chat with us about what you want to see in Pathfinder, and above all, have four great days of gaming with not only staff, but other Paizo fans as well!

Until next time, may you be able to act in the surprise round and may your feasts be heroic,

Let me guess: the Hamlet flip map has a skull on one side and a Mousetrap on the other?

Yeah, I'm going to need a Tup miniature now. I don't need any more goblins, but I do need a Tup.

Acolyte on the right of the Aroden pic: Why do I have to be the one to hold the sword by the blade? I'm going to lose a finger again, and I won't be able to cast regeneration for levels yet. How come I don't get to hold the star like Sister Beatrice? That's nice and safe and not Owwwww, dang it, there goes the first one, and red shows on these robes so much!

Serious question...

Why do pawn sets come out so late after their source material? The pawns for Bestiary 5 are scheduled to release 6 months after the book, and AP pawns usually come out months after an AP has started.

Do GMs who run APs and use pawns wait until the appropriate pawns arrive before beginning the AP?

The primary reason is that we have to wait until all of the final art for the source book is in. In the case of the APs, it means we can't even start putting the pawn collection together until we've sent the last volume of an AP to the printer.

In addition, pawn sets are a bit more complicated than a print book, what with the die-cut sheets, boxes, bases, etc., so they take more time in production.

I know its not the same as a Sihedron cookie cutter, but still lots of fun; I have found Yoda cookie cutters work very well for making goblin shaped cookies.

Ninjabread cookie cutters are found at Toys R Us, also Samurai Sugar cookies, we got the Ninjabread set, works great!

That is the cutest little Goblin anarchist I have ever seen. ^_^

Is that Banjo's long-lost half-brother?

If so: happy to meat!

It's obviously Banjo's influence upon the world of Golarion... His grasp is extending through the planes and through the stars to encompass EVERYTHING!

To encompass a hatchet and a couple of sausages to say the least!

Any chance we can at least know which of those books Tup is from, so that we can make sure to get it? :-D

Tup is one of characters in the retrospective collection of NPCs in Song of Silver. He is the RotRL NPC.

Tup was in Rise of the Runelords?? *Runs off to find reference to him in the books...*

Nope; Tup was not in Runelords.

Pathfinder 100 has a 32 or so page article that presents a "bonus NPC" for each of the Adventure Paths that came before Hell's Rebels, each brand new, each written by one of the authors of the Adventure Path the NPC is appearing in. Tup was written by Richard Pett, I believe, who wrote the 2nd installment of Runelords. Each of these brand new NPCs is given full stats and details, along with info on how they can fit into the AP that inspired them or other APs that they might fit well into.

AH! That makes so much sense! I know I would have remembered such an impressive-looking goblin had he existed before this!

Now I can't wait to get my copy of Pathfinder 100 so that I can read about Tup and come up with a PACG version of him :-D

Heh heh, Tup was great fun to work on, hope you have fun with him. It was an honour to be asked to contribute to this awesome edition, and be part of this great celebration.

Tup is my new favorite Iconic.

I know he's not really an iconic. Zip it. He's my favorite Iconic.

All right, having read up...

Yes.

Tup is my favorite iconic.

The text goes above and beyond the visual.

A goblin pyromaniac who does puppet shows while kinda-sorta passing as a gnome. Who rides a sheep.

He will not only be the Terrible Tup at my table... he might just become Tup the Unkillable.

Yes! There's the Bestiary 5 Box of pawns!

Agreed, Tup is the best character in the history of characters.

Note, though, that he is NOT an iconic. That has a specific definition. He's just a named NPC.
