Friday Publisher Preview: It's PaizoCon!

Friday, July 4, 2014

We've been ramping up for PaizoCon all week here at the Paizo offices, which hasn't left much time for miniatures previews. But rest assured, we've got one major reveal scheduled for the traditional Saturday Preview Banquet. We'll include that image along with our other product announcements in a news roundup post on Sunday after the banquet, but for now here's a hint at what we have in store:

Now what in the world could that be? Swing by the Paizo Blog on Sunday to find out, or check it out on the big screen at the Preview Banquet!

I hope to see you all there. Miniatures fans should remember to attend Erik Mona's Miniatures Trading Afterparty at 2:00 in the hotel bar. We've been doing it for years now, and it's always one of the highlights of the convention.

See you there!

Looks cool! Can't wait for more pics from the 'con!

Been waiting for this since the announcement of it being the case incentive. I am sure it is going to look amazing!

Sovereign Court

+1 for Shemhazian.

Woohoo cannot wait.

I could see where you could get that from the image, however it is the Shemhazian Demon that is the case incentive.

Cool! This is one of my most anticipated minis from the set.

... Would it be wrong to make my Paladin PC solo one?

It is an awesome figure! Will have to get it on the table against my players somehow. I took a picture and the dinner but don't know if I can put it up.

It's now posted on the Paizocon round up page. Looks awesome. Incredible sculpt and if the detail and paint are even half as good as this it will be the best incentive yet (and I'm totally impartial of course). Only criticism, seems very brightly coloured.

There is at least one Pathfinder Society Organized Play scenario that has one in it, just sayin'... ;-)

The Shemhazian Demon looks NICE! Looking forward to seeing that on my table in the future (and this comes from a player).

I do wish more was announced in the miniature line than just more of the Lost Coast minis, and the new Minimates (which aren’t really part of the PFB line).

I was hoping to see at least the next set after Lost Coast. Well, at least we should find out at GenCon.

They showed a large green dragon too at the banquet!

You'll definitely hear more about minis at Gen Con. We have to announce _something_ there, after all! :)

Holy moly, that green dragon looks amazing!!!!

The Giant Frilled Lizard is a large uncommon, yes? And that Green Dragon is also a large (likely a rare)? I love the disparity between the two creatures, to help show the differences of size within a particular size category.

One thing regarding the game that a few of my students really had trouble with was understanding that size variances within a particular size category were possible. A couple of the kids couldn't understand that just because their characters in-game were six feet tall did not mean that every medium-sized creature they faced could stand eye-to-eye with them. This is yet another reason why I've found miniatures very helpful in my campaigns. It's sometimes hard for me to believe I went nearly two decades w/o using them on any regular basis.

MUST HAVE GREEN DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice! I'm also expecting a boggard or two, hopeful at least one common.

Actually, I think we need some more goblins, nowhere near enough for my goblin horde.

Spoiler:
I think everyone here knows I am kidding. :)

But yeah, a couple more Boggards would be nice, I think we only have one yet so far. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

I know this has also been said before already, but would love to see some more peasants. Townsfolk, farmers, children, etc. In our campaigns, we actually have used minis when exploring town. And more than once we’ve had encounters in town where peasants were factors. We either needed to save them, or they really weren’t a ‘peasant’.

Yes please on the townsfolk :)

Dark Archive

Second the town folk. We got livestock last set so more dressing pieces would be great.
