Golarion Day: Where Do the Goblins Live?

Thursday, July 7, 2011

There's a lot of fun information about goblins in the upcoming Pathfinder Player Companion, Goblins of Golarion—things like new character traits, goblin spells and magic, goblin feats, some new subdomains, and lots of fun tidbits about what it is to be a goblin in the first place. One thing I'm particularly delighted we got to do, though, was include a section that talks about all of the significant (and some not-so-significant) goblin tribes of the Inner Sea region. Check out this map that lists their locations. They're all over the place!

Viking goblins!!

hahaha - goblin tribe names are awesome!

But the Goblin Tribes of the "Inner Sea Region" does bring to mind: will there be goblins in Tian Xia? Or a related race? (Like the akki maybe?)

None around Lake Encarthan or the River Kingdoms? I would have thought the little blighters would have loved it there.

Goblins are more of a coastal creature for the most part. And while there are indeed goblins here and there in the River Kingdoms... they're not significant enough to be called out as tribes yet. Maybe someday they'll get their acts together, but for now, the pesky humanoid job in the River Kingdoms is mostly kobold territory.

Look at all the tribes on Mediogalti. MONKEY GOBLINS ATTACK!!

COOL!

WHY...?

Someone had way too much fun coming up with those names.

I demand an AP built entirely around the Egg Sucker tribe.

+1! They wouldn't happen to be the residents of Ganda-uj would they?

Scarab Sages

I thought that one was "Screaming"... I think a Screaming goblin tribe would be great too.

Any way to get a close-up of that little symbol?

Having recently watched the Touch of Satan MST3K episode, my first thought was, "This is where the goblins lives."

Golarion day posts aren't about the rulebook line—you'll want to check on Tuesdays for that content (not that next Tuesday WILL be an Ultimate Combat preview... just that when and if one happens, it'll probably be on a Tuesday...).

No love for the Anklebiters of Galt?

It's a corporate media blackout, I tell you!

Vive le revolution!

Spoiler:
I can not wait for this book to come out. No, I'm serious, I can't wait. I'm booking off work for the next week. See you in a couple of days, Paizo!

But, if you are a goblin ... how can you even read that map?

Silver Crusade

Word of mouth.

No desert goblins? Shame. I wanted to play a goblin based on Peter O'Toole from Lawrence of Arabia.

Ah well I'll have to go back to my original idea: Peter O'Chuul.

I've read every turgid word of Hosseter's exceptionally dry Collected Works, I've memorized entire passages of Darl Jubannich's complex meter and varied rhyme schemes.

Why do pinkskins persist in this chauvinistic nonsense that goblins can't read? Why? Because Paizo is a bunch of racists, that why.

Shame on you, Paizo!

Hmm How were the little blighters during the time of the Runelords? Seem they overlap terrain. Also might make their fear of words have a basis in history.

Were Goblins a problem in Azlant? Seems like they would've been, considering their distribution in Garund and Avistan.

Not necessarily. They might have been upstanding citizens. :)

Actually, that makes a lot of sense.

What about the goblin tribes in the sewers of Westcrown?

Those are a good example of a goblin tribe that's insignificant enough not to be mentioned as a major goblin tribe.

Come on, reading is bad but writing is taboo! So feel sorry for the poor creature that wrote those books because the thoughts have been stolen from his head.

Remember don't write things down it will make you forget them.

What are you talking about? Stuff and nonsense. Reading and writing are fun and it is the perpetuation of this gibberish that keeps goblins down.

Goblin brothers and sisters, rise above this monkey's lies. Show the Paizo messageboard community your true potential: reject this myth of goblin antipathy to literature! Expose Paizo for the anti-goblin bigots that they are!

I say we all hold him down and carve his scribbles into his heretical face and kick him out of the clan!
