Huge granite slabs form the peaked roof of this chamber, the walls of which are incised with thousands of tiny hieroglyphs. In the center of the chamber lies an open stone sarcophagus, its granite lid cracked and broken on the floor next to it. A beautifully decorated wooden coffin lies inside, its lid also askew. Four alabaster canopic jars stand like guardians at the foot of the sarcophagus, while various grave goods lie heaped around the walls of chamber.

Knowledge (history) or Knowledge (nobility) DC 20:

This chamber is the true tomb of the Pharaoh of Sphinxes, Sekh-pa-Mefer III. Filled with grave goods and the wealth of the ancient pharaoh, this burial chamber could represent the single greatest find in modern Osirionology.

Deter and Sek detect a secret door in the west wall that connects the burial chamber to something beyond.

From the darkness, a booming voice calls out. An archaic tongue echos off dust-ridden walls.

"بعد سنوات لا حصر لها ، أو هي آلاف السنين ، تأتي قبل Sekh-pa-Mefer. تعال وإظهار طاعتك واحترامك لمن صعد إلى الله. سجدوا أمامي! أن تفعل أي شيء أقل من ذلك سوف يثبت لك أن تكون أكثر قليلا من واللصوص!"

Ancient Osirian or Linguistics 20:

"After countless years, or is it millennia, you come before Sekh-pa-Mefer. Come and show your obedience and respect to one who has ascended to godhood. Prostrate yourselves before me! To do anything less will prove you to be little more than interlopers and thieves!"

Stepping into the light is a figure wrapped in cloth. The level of care and detail leaves no doubt this is the Pharaoh of Sphinxes, and he is not alone. While you are certain the large creature next to him is a sphinx, the decay of undeath makes it difficult to surmise what kind it is.
