I'm interested! I've been playing Pathfinder for about 4 years, and GMing on and off about a year. This would be my first PbP. I've read Painlord's guide and a few PbP campaigns, so I think I have a solid handle on the format.
My current concept is a Forlorn elf occultist, but the class could easily be switched. I'd prefer a caster, and it seems like melee's covered so that should fit.
Kalima Raustald |
Here is my character Kalima Raustald, a Celestial Sorceress who is attending the Swollowtail Festival in her journey across the land to understand her purpose in the world. This is a re-purposed character from another campaign that I wasen't picked for so I hope to make use of this character in this game if possible.
Probably will go the summoner/conjuration magic route with this character.

Ah, what the heck, if we're allowed to roll & then choose I might as well roll.
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 6) = 20 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 3) = 17 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 3) = 21 = 18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 1) = 16 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 4) = 15 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 6) = 17 = 15
Holy mother of...wow, I will just stick with the 25pt buy, that's too cheesy to keep.

I've got a number of characters that would fit with RotRL, a taciturn tengu bolt ace, a goblin alchemist (I think that says it all), and a socially awkward aasimar arcanist. I kind of want to try a centaur warrunner (or whatever that one archetype is, be interesting to roleplay). Anyone have any suggestions or preferences?
Edit: Just checked out the centaur, unless you say otherwise I'm going to assume it was an oversight that you didn't ban it with 28 RP.
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 5) = 18 16
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 3) = 13
1d6: 1d6 ⇒ 5
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 2) = 16
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 1) = 9
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 4) = 15
1d6: 1d6 ⇒ 3
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 5) = 18
Perspicacious Wanderer |
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4) = 20 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 2) = 18 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 2) = 9
2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 2) = 12
1d6 ⇒ 3 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 6) = 14
1d6 ⇒ 4 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6) = 18 16
16, 16, 16, 14, 14, 12
Those are quite high rolls, but I think I'll keep them. Time to come up with something of a prodigy to justify those stats (and some character flaws of course).
What class is Cade playing?

Stat 1: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 1) = 14
Reroll 1s: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Uhm, again?: 1d6 ⇒ 2 = 13
Stat 2: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 4) = 14 = 12
Stat 3: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 5) = 18 = 15
Stat 4: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 5) = 17 = 14
Stat 5: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 1) = 14
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Oh, really?: 1d6 ⇒ 2 = 12
Stat 6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 2) = 11
Rerolls: 1d6 ⇒ 5 = 13
Yeeeah, gonna go for the 25 point buy. Likely Undine Hydrokineticist.
The Chess |
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 4) = 13
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 3
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 4) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 1) = 13
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 4) = 20
Result: 13, 14, 14, 12, 12, 16
Interesting array... A very balanced 27-point-buy. I like it.

Interested.
Roll #1: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 4) = 13
Roll #2: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 6) = 14
Roll #3: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 5) = 10
Reroll 1: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Roll #4: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 2) = 10
Roll #5: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 1) = 17
Reroll 1: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Not sure if that gets re-rolled again. Will skip for now.
Roll #6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 2) = 16
Looks like 25-pt. buy for me. It'll still be an upgrade over her current 20-pt. build.
Ouachitonian |
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 5) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 2) = 7
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 1) = 9
4 1s to reroll: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 2) = 10
1 more to reroll 1d6 ⇒ 2
So, 18, 11, 15, 14, 18, 10 before dropping
After dropping, that's 14, 9, 13, 12, 16, 8.
Not fantastic, but workable. I'll think on concepts.

I would love to get into a RotR game. Basic concept is a somewhat amnesiac wizard who sincerely believes he is Aroden reincarnated, or at least possessed by a vestige of said deity. Spells are Aroden-centric (like from Arcane Anthology) or buffs for allies, with a few save-or-dies tied to a particular secret he has. Either Spell Sage, Sword Binder, or Exploiter.
Trying the dice:
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 4) = 14 12
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 4) = 15 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 1) = 15 1d6: 1d6 ⇒ 6 17
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 6) = 16 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 2) = 7 2d6: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 1d6: 1d6 ⇒ 4 10
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 6) = 16 13
25-pt buy it is. Will work on this.

This sounds awesome! I would like to put forth a ranger. Will you allow a Half-Giant from dreamscarred press? Or perhaps it is time to finally try out the Kasatha bow nomad.
13 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 4) = 15
10 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 4) = 12
16 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 6) = 17 1d6 ⇒ 4
13 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 6) = 16
15 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 4) = 16 1d6 ⇒ 2
14 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 5) = 15 1d6 ⇒ 2
Pretty good, I will stick with those.

Despite having decided against it, I'm still thinking about the centaur charger, and I had a thought.
Centaur Chargers can take mounted combat feats, and use their Acrobatics in place of their Ride skill for them. Thus, most will be maxing out Acrobatics. I now have the image of a centaur doing a backflip stuck in my head.

Interested in this.
#1: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 6) = 14

#4: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 4) = 10
#5: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 2) = 9
#6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 2) = 15
reroll#1: 1d6 ⇒ 4
reroll#2: 1d6 ⇒ 1
reroll#3: 1d6 ⇒ 2
reroll#3: 1d6 ⇒ 1
reroll#4: 1d6 ⇒ 2
reroll#4: 1d6 ⇒ 6
reroll#5: 1d6 ⇒ 4
reroll#5: 1d6 ⇒ 5
reroll#6: 1d6 ⇒ 6
reroll#2: 1d6 ⇒ 1
reroll#3: 1d6 ⇒ 5
reroll#2: 1d6 ⇒ 1
reroll#2: 1d6 ⇒ 3
That's a lot of ones! (so many that when I interposed the re-rolls it knocked everything out of synch).
15, 11, 13, 14, 14, 18 - not bad though.
Will put together something, probably a 6 level divine caster -hunter or inquisitor, unless path of war would be considered available?

Because I know Forgedawn IRL, I'll let you all know he's adding more traps and buffing up the spell users, even thinking of giving some goblins guns, and optimizing goblins inititive. He will use suprize rounds, and try to make the party very cautious.
We have me (a samurai) our swashbuckler and a bloodrager. We need healing, a trapper, and an arcane
After all he personally told me if we don't have a good party he'll make it hell. He sure loves his TPK.
Of course, this is because he loves power, and in the games I make he usually optimized for max-DPS. Kasatha multi-weapon magus for example.
So it is best of you try to build your characters with full expectation he's trying to kill you, not guide the story.
Here is some friendly advice:
1)invest in AC
2) use an appropriate marching order, gaurding all sides.
3)make sure you have good saves.
4) expect enemies to have weapons that make no logical sense, like revolvers.
DM Forgedawn |
There will be story, but death may be frequent. This is high power, and the enemies will be too. Goblins will only rarely have powerful weapons too, and not guns frequently.
