No, I'm not averse to it, but I'd like to see what the players who are accepted think before switching to the house rule.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is RH's Trow Inquisitor of the Unseelie court. I just have the race and intro, but will build more quickly.

so lets talk money: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 5) = 13 x 10 = 130 gp.

I have two dilemmas, the first I'm trying to build Brunner so he doesn't use any metal, so I'm going to have to get creative with weapons and armor, I probably will use the long bow for range because, obviously, wood and it's association with fey. Armor becomes a problem; K.C. are you ok with 'eastern' armor? Looking into "lamellar horn" Also may need to get creative with a buckler.

Second dilemma, I have no idea what to make the favored weapon of the Unseelie. I know the bow and arrow is popular with fey, but I would like something that would represent the "Winter Court" a little more, Any Ideas?

Intro:

Brunner isn’t like other Trow, don’t get me wrong, he loves popping out of his warren and shooting at sprites that invade his Fen as much as the next Trow. But he’s just not ready to settle down yet.

Even though he is well over a hundred and by that time in life most self-respecting Trow have their own bog, or marsh or fen and are looking for a mate. Brunner hasn’t gone down that road yet. It isn’t that he likes being “bogless,” but he doesn’t mind. Serving Mab, the Unseelie Queen, gives him choice of warrens where ever he goes on assignment. And on assignment he gets to bully and break to his heart’s content. As long as he keeps the queens peace and enforces the laws of “The Accords.” It’s a good life being an Inquisitor for the Unseelie Court.

Brunner wasn’t always from the fen near the river Styx. It wasn’t that long ago that he saw the quaint little town of Barlily for the first time. The courts had noticed that there were many fey; Seelie, Unseelie and undeclared, who were going through the porthole into this world. Desiring to keep “The Accords” safe, the Fey Courts sent their representatives to keep an eye on things near Barlily and on each other. Brunner was the Inquisitor selected by Mab, long may she reign, to come here.

Before Brunner came to this pleasant little world he had lived in the first world, following the directives of his superior, Trix. Trix O’Miter was a very serious sprite, or some sort of little flying fey, Brunner had trouble telling them apart. Trix claimed to have served the queen for a thousand years. Brunner knew better to accuse Trix of lying since it was impossible for an Inquisitor of the Fey Courts to lie. So Brunner just assumed that the little fellow didn’t count well enough for it to matter.

Trix had trained him in all the ways of an Inquisitor of the Unseelie court, even being the one to administer his oath. Before Brunner met Trix he was a wandering “Bogless” going from place to place, world to world, hoping for a fen to call his own. When Brunner met Trix he was running from a gnome merchant who was chasing him for breaking a pocket watch he had for sale. For some reason the gnome had been insulted when Brunner, having asked to see the watch, tested its resistance capacity with a hammer. While Brunner was hiding himself Trix stumbled upon his hiding place; Brunner swore he would listen to Trix if the winged fey would not give up his hiding spot. Trix explained the benefits of being a servant of the winter court. After the gnome stopped searching the area for Brunner, he returned with Trix, who was able to open the portal to the first world and Brunner followed the miniature Inquisitor. After following Trix for the time allotted, took the Oath to become an Inquisitor.

Before Brunner became an Inquisitor he was “Bogless” and before he was “Bogless” he had lived with his mother in a pleasant dimension on an island, just off of a large continent. Way up in the northern highlands in a happy little fen beside a loch, sleeping in a hollowed tree. His father had lived on the other side of a hillock in a cave deep in a dark bog. Those were happy times, moving between fen and bog, spending time with mom and dad. He learned how to shoot down nasty little flying fairies that invaded their privacy. His Father showed him how to find a component filled machine hidden by the local humans and smash it with a hammer. His mother taught him how to hunt and fish and to track the smelly-dews.

He still remembers the night his parents stood together on the winter solstice waving good-bye to him as he entered the portal to the first world; telling him to never return. Secretly, Brunner thinks it was the joy of that night that caused him to serve the winter court.

So here he sits in the comfortable fen beside the raging river Styx outside the little town of Barlily. He has been instructed to keep an eye on the fey, to protect the Accords, to espouse the cause of the Unseelie and to learn all that he could of this world; and he intended to do it. The fact that he gets to smash machinery and box the ears on Seelie fey is just a perk.

For this character, I'm okay with it variant armor, so you can keep the "no metal" shtick going.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any weapons, aside from maybe a cudgel or the like. I kind of want to see this guy wielding a big wooden mallet, though—not necessarily as his main weapon, but just as something to box ears with. You could flavor it as a club, greatclub or sap, depending on your preference.

I have to admit, mine and my sister's favorite part of this character originally was the moth wings. I'm a bit sad to see them go, even if it's more "mythologically accurate" this way.

Re non-metal weapons:

You might want to look at some of the 'primitive' options, such as the Terbutje; basically anything made out of flint, obsidian, or bone is your friend (you'll probably want to use one of those options for your arrowheads as well).

You might also want a few, given they would be fragile if you used any primitive material according to Pathfinder rules.

Actually, a historical example is the leiomano, which is a Polynesian club-sword that utilizied shark teeth as the 'cutting edge'. I believe it was designed to bite into flesh and tear out the teeth in the weapon when it was yanked out again, leaving behind really vicious wounds filled with teeth fragments.

Another is the macuahuitl (for using non-material at least, and I think is the Terbutje in the rules, but honestly I think that weapon is a poor equivelant), but utilized obsidian shards for the blade and I think they weren't meant to break (from a search, aparently they were very hard to actually break and were super tight construction, so I think the Terbutje in the equipment list might be closer to a leiomano), but look quite similar in their design to the leiomano, if not a far more reusable and sophisticated version of the weapon.

Also, while I hate to double post, I just want to go over some aspects of each character, mostly on how they would fit into each party characteristically and mechanically

”Yeldrid Thozosh:
I want to see Yeldrid as something of a quirky and somewhat non-serious individual. He fluctuates between being utterly ridiculous and over the top to genuinely insightful and clearly someone with intensely keen observations about the world around him. He particularly loves messing with people's expectations of himself and their perceptions of who he is. He tries to make others underestimate him on even things he is actually very good at. His machines seem utterly useless until he shows how well they work in practise. His ideas should backfire in horrible ways but he knows how to make them work. If not the first time, he knows it will work eventually with time and patience. He doesn't let failure or mishap get him down. And he works around a problem rather than succumbing to despair. He is the sort of person who adapts and re-evaluates every situation until he finds a solution.

Mechanically he is an archer. Simple as that. Gunslingers don't get much more potent than that. He will handle some skills and he is good at being slinky and he can climb. Expect him to hang around the party from vantage points and be the point man and provide covering fire from above. His innate climb speed will help make sure he always has mobility options and he uses his climb speed to his advantage. One example is climbing walls and using pitons and rope to set up sightlines and vantage points from unexpected angles. His change out ability lets him switch up his fighting style on the fly, and he can end up quite versatile. Sadly, he is very expensive to have around. Most of his gold goes to making ammunition, and while his equipment might have lots of tools, he may have to instead exchange most of his equipment for gunpowder. His tools are mostly examples of things he would want.

”Dingo”:
Unlike Yeldrid, Dingo is a much more serious individual and is quite macabre at worst and sad otherwise. They worry about others and their safety, and while they have perfected their lacquered coat and gloves, they still doesn't like others touching them. They enjoy most intellectual pursuits and discussing chemistry, biology and scientific fields they themself aren't familiar with, as they are usually quite excited at the prospect of learning about the world from different perspectives. They are relatively frank and straightforward, preferring not to lie though are quite tight-lipped about their reasons for leaving the swamp and cause of their condition. While they aren't exactly rude, they are often quickly exhausted by social situations and often need time to themself. They are happy to interact and make friends and relate to others, hard as the latter might be, but they aren't able to maintain social interaction for very long.

Mechanically they are a rogue-esque character with some special Int-based powers and self-buffs. Expect them to utilize a LOT of poison. The combination of their innate poison and a toxin makes them very potent as a debuffer. I would hope to use the Unchained poison rules for their innate poison for stacking multiple debuffs and potential for their poison to be lethal eventually, but I am happy with generic poison rules as well. Being able to self buff means they have a large amount of utility open to them, and while they could get Infusion, they mostly want the extracts for themself. First thing they will get is mutagen, without a doubt, and they are more of a brute than skills character. They fill the role of a rogue very, very well despite the lack of Trapfinding, and can be relied upon to put out damage. They are also an unideal target for attacking due to their toxin, making them a very deadly opponent to attack directly if that opponent uses natural attacks (so most beasts). They bring to the table debuffs, utility and versatility, and while not a direct powerhouse, make up for shortcomings very easily.

”Garid, the Turpentiner”:
While a Neutral Evil character is usually a mess to bring into any campaign, Garid isn't necessarily going to pull anything directly evil unless you are already dead. Garid is laser-focused on defiling the dead and the peaceful passage of non-painterlily. She is heartless at worst and ambivalent otherwise. They will agree to follow the whims and actions of others, even do good if necessary, but they will refuse to not ruin corpses and unpretty things in death. She takes eyes, noses and ears and casts them aside. She instructs undead to rip up faces. And when she can, raises humanoids into undead, the ultimate mockery of death by its denial through false life.

Besides her very disturbing goals, Garid does have a strong curiosity for the lives of others and the world in general. She wants to understand death and the effects death has on the world, and is often very, very fascinated by funeral homes, graveyards and butcheries. The concept of life after a death is a strong consistency in her observations about the world. How creatures will prey on others for survival, how rotting matter gives sustenance, and eventually birth to new life. She sees an end to life as a step in the natural phase of an existence she does not exist within, and it infuriates her. Often, Garid will dwell on what follows of a situation involving death. She wants to know what leads a individual to the crossroads of their end, and what the impact of that death will have on the world around the event. Garid might even fixate on a person for a long time before moving on once she has deemed a person thoroughly ‘understood’, particularly watching the practices of mourning and how the living cope with loss a d change. In all of this, she wants to find something to undermine the meaning of it all. Garid wants to, if anything, confirm herself not only separate from the cycles of death and the journey of a creature’s passing (like funeral rites or decomposition), but above it and in control over death. If she cannot be given a proper death, nobody shall. And if her end is a brief and disgusting matter, so will those who she is able to sully.

In gameplay, she is obviously a wizard, which lends her to being very capable at doing anything a wizard needs to do. A caster is obviously a powerhouse and Garid is no different. Her statline is actually reasonably weak for most characters due to her racials but obviously this hardly matters. When she reaches 5th, this is when things begin to get interesting. She starts filling the board with undead to help fill spaces and provide meat for the grinder. Fighters rest assured that they have plenty of company on the frontline to help soak damage and put out damage. Will they feel a bit underwhelming? I hope not. But necromancers are potent for a reason.

Obviously Garid would be horrendous if put into any party that has a character that A) hates undead, B) is a ‘paladin’ of the lawful type (and definitely if lawful stupid though I am sure there are plenty of players applying who have the maturity to not pull that on anyone if they were playing a paladin type), and C) is not okay with a genuinely gross character. I won't get graphic because honestly, gore squicks me out, but Garid does things to the dead that would make Picasso blush. I will super tone down even an implied gorey Garid representation if that would make people uncomfortable and I don't want to unsettle anyone to the point of making others not want to play.

I do have one request for KC. What kind of creature can Garid start with as a corpse companion? If not a humanoid bloody skeleton, I was thinking zombie bat for the blindsense. They don't cost much to purchase, and is better than most potential animals at that level. If a human skeleton, I'm going to equip it with basic combat gear (or a drum and have it provide battle music) and have it carry a banner of a flat canvas as a ‘tower shield’ that it will plant into the ground when danger looms. The canvas will be on what Garid will attach herself to and be carried around on. I'm not sure how that impacts the weight of the canvas. It is mostly for the purpose of transport and stealth. Nobody suspects the painting is alive.

Poppet 1' tall Fey.

Poppet time:

She sat on small table in the Inn. It was a nice place, and the bar keep here in Barlily. She was board, nothing going on and waiting for anything. Being only 1' tall the market had little she wanted. Finding a place to say, well she cared that round with her. She spent her time there pick up a apple and sending it spinning around a drunks head. Just to see if he would notice. He black wings folded behind her. she put her chin on her fist and waited to see of fun would show up anytime soon.

Is this closing tomorrow? I just saw it and I really want to try and put together a Corgyn.

For some reason, looking back and seeing this amused me. I think there's been a bit of interest. :D

So two more questions for you, Kobold Cleaver

I found this lovely New Weapon builder and created a gordd bren mawr, check out the description and math, and let me know if it meets you approval. Brunner would like to take it as a Heirloom weapon, thus the name Hammerfell.

Also do you mind if he takes craft and makes his own bow and arrows, I figure he’s going to need to keep himself in flint or bronze arrowtips anyway.

I’ve decided that the “Unseelie Courts” Favored Weapon would be Natural Attacks/ Improved Unarmed Strike, I think most of them would rather fight with claws or their own hands.

Putting together the personality and appearance, also will be working on more details for the "Inquisitors of the Unseelie" and more Tork weapons. I Will be adding to the character all weekend.

description and math:

Translated in Sylvan as Large Wooden Sledgehammer, the gordd bren mawr is litterally that, a large wooden sledgehammer. With it's long wooden handle and heave bronze banded wooden head, while not as strong as an iron sledge hammer, It works well for the purposes that the Trow use it for. to smash large things into small things.

Simple weapon, two-handed, 2d6, x 3, B, Fragile 10 lbs.

FWG: hammer
Cost: 9 GP = 1 gp (starting cost) + 8 gp (equal to DP spent)
Simple weapon: (4 DP)
Two Handed: (+3 DP)
DMG: 2d6 (- 5 DP)
Improve Crit. Mod x 3: (- 3 DP)
Fagile: (+ 1 DP)
Tool: (0 DP)

Aw, that's adorable! Yeah, submissions close tomorrow. How time flies. There's still time for a few last-minute submissions, though!

Brunner, a simple weapon with 2d6 damage and a x3 crit would be pushing it a little. I'd say you should give up one of those. We can put a pin in that, though.

Crafting your own arrows is fine.

all right, I will drop a point and go to 1d10, but I don't need the point from fragile then.

So tempting. I don't think I would make it though since I'd have to convert the race. How much needs to be done to submit?

You don't have to fully convert the race! I just want an idea of your character concept. Anything more than that is just in addition.

Should also be super simple to convert the race, if you aren't adding anything beyond what's there.

Small Size, +2 Str/Dex (2 RP), Type: Fey (2 RP), +2 Bluff, Kn Nature, Perception (6 RP).

And then a custom racial move for Oddball Thief, likely 1/Day. I'm not sure if there's a spell that lines up perfectly, but I bet a Path of War technique would serve as a good basis. Probably 2 RP for that?

That last ability is a trip attack so something like kneecapper will work which is 1 RP. Fey has no benefit but explains the races origins better. And those stat boosts are bogus. I mean really, its a small sized dog race and charisma isn't boosted? Insanity. So here is what I have.

Small (0 RP)
+2 Str, +2 Cha, -2 Int. Strong and adorable but not always bright. Standard (0 RP)
Fey (2 RP)
Kn Nature, Perception (4 RP)
Bite (1 RP)
Darkvsion (2 RP)
Scent (4 RP)
All-Fours (1 RP)

All-fours is my take on a 5e conversion I found. It said their normal speed was 25 but they could move on all four for 35. So its an increase of 10 to base speed but they can't hold anything and the only attack they can make is the bite. And still under 15 RP.

I was thinking a small paladin of Sarenrae. Tries to maintain an air of honor and nobility but ruins it with some odd quirks. He's terrified of bad weather, is easily distracted by moving objects, and is fond of orbs. Relatively new to the Prime Material Plane, they still don't quite get the language and customs. He's all about companionship, compassion, and Living in the moment.

That's a solid custom race, I dig it.

I thought I remembered a monster with a similar ability. A bit more powerful, though.

That works. How many RP would that be?

So, just to review in outline:

Painterlily Fighter, Sorceress or Cleric - details a bit unfixed, but am innocent looking to explore the world, avenge themselves on their creator and have children

Or

Human cleric of village deity who crossed the river.

Sovereign Court

Pathfinder Starfinder Society Subscriber

Can you post another summary of applicants, KC? I enjoyed reading everyone's concepts.

Liberty's Edge

Zayne, you might have missed that this is a homebrew setting with its own unique pantheon. (Though, we might still be able to port over PFCS gods?)

Pulling from the Wiki then:

"Corgyn Mythology is based on a primary pantheon of two Gods with several lesser demi-deities. As it goes, the sun deity, Danann (Quiet Joy, Loving Mother, Creator of the world) runs across the sky, trying to escape the darkness while the moon deity, Dagda (Loud Sorrow, Steadfast Father) chases her into eternity. Being enveloped by darkness, he is often unable to catch her. Instead of being totally in darkness, Dagda is continuously inspired by reflecting Danann's radiant beauty upon the world. As such, full moons tend to be good omens while new moons speak of dark omens. Every solar eclipse marks a festival of marriage and family, as it signifies Dagda finally catching Danann."

Paladin of Danaan
Alignment: LG
Favored Weapon: Longbow
Domains: Animal, Community, Travel, Sun, Good
No idea on subdomains. Too many of those. Don't think it matter to paladins either.

Edit: Going to have to take bonded item rather than mount. Cause a dog riding a pony is just silly.

end today GM, is that right.

Poppet is ready, the tiny Fey, with a heart of gold.

Okay KC, would you be opposed if I gave Agostina Bancroft a Polynesian layer? I think it fits with the theme of the game being about the big wide world. I've been talking with my New Zealander friend and they gave me some ideas about their mythology and culture of the Maori peoples which might be fun to incorporate. Her name change, among other things, would be
Kamali'i wahine Lanuola Bancroft.

Just for fun

Appearance:

At first glance one might assume that Brunner is a Dwarf. He’s the right height and width, dressed in armor strutting about with a large Hammer over his shoulder. He wears his salt and pepper hair and beard long, with a heavy brow, bright ice-blue eyes and a large nose that appears to have been broken several times. Under that large nose is a permeant scowl and a surly disposition.

At a closer look, if one knows what to look for, there are several things unusual for a dwarf; causing one to question their assumption. His salt and pepper hair and beard are long ratty and unkempt being so dirty that there is lichen with little blue and violet flowers growing in it. His weapons, though well kept, are made exclusively from wood, flint and bronze. Not an Iron weapon amongst them. His oddly made armor and buckler are also made from leather and bronze and decorated in odd colors and unusual glyphs.

At a final inspection, by someone who knows fey, one recognizes that Brunner isn’t a dwarf at all, but a fairy . A bog loving fairy with a predisposition to use his hammer on small mechanical items; these fey are called Trow. The telltale clue is his salt and pepper hair, which is the same color as his cloak, which isn’t a cloak at all, but his moth-like wings. The other obvious giveaway is the crest on his buckler and the plaid of his kilt. He is a servant of the Winter Queen Mab. His buckler bares the crest of the “Unseelie Court.” His kilt is the black, silver, ice blue and violet of the Unseelie tarter. Items a self-respecting dwarf would never wear or swear allegiance to.

more to come

You've inspired me to submit an alternate concept with that race list KC (also because I came across an old character sheet while cleaning a little while ago)

He-Gorr, (Space) Ork (a la Warhammer 40k)
Umonk/Fighter multiclass

He-Gorr fell from a meteorite which impacted a nearby giant during its descent from space. After falling for a really long time, he awoke in the town of Barlily alone, eager to enlist the local grots into his warband, For the WAAAUGH!

We're not doing so much interplanetary/space stuff in this world, but who's to say what stars and meteors are in the setting? Maybe meteors are just big ork sky eggs . ;)

Dark Archive

Gthe Quillick were inspired by Illithid, I just dumbed them down, alot!

And I went for a mother@$!#ing dragon! What could be better?

Mirani sat at a small table in her mother's inn idly eating a salad of seasonal greens mixed with cranberries and crickets and drizzled with a peppery sauce. Her hunt had been unsuccessful. They had set out to discover the lair of a ferocious dinosaur but never located it. She didn't come back empty handed though. While poking about in some caves behind a waterfall she had discovered a beautiful amulet of copper and green crystals. She had snatched it up in an instant unable to resist having the pretty thing. And she was wearing it now. In fact later after dinner she was hoping to discuss the odd script that circled it with the village healer.

A human man entered the inn. He was dressed in travel leathers that had clearly seen a lot of use. He seemed to be looking for something or someone. When he spotted Mirani he smiled and moved to join her at her small table. "May I join you?" he asked. And Mirani nodded. She hadn't seen many humans, most of the visitors to the village were elves. But occasionally a human merchant or scholar would make the journey here. "What brings you out here?" Mirani asked him. And he waved away the question "I see you found a blink stone little one. I could tell you how it works." He offered with a smile on his face. "Really?! Please do!" Mirani replied excitedly. "It simply requires a phrase to activate. But you must promise me you will only do so alone and out of sight of the others." He said then added "What it shows you is meant for your eyes only." Mirani agreed quickly and the man whispered the phrase in her ear. "I have SO many questions about it!" Mirani said and the man laughed and said "Later little one, after I have had my cranberry ale and you've had a chance to use it first."

She hopped up and ran to the bar "Mother, the human needs a glass of cranberry ale please. And I need to head out." Her mother frowned "You promised to help clean up after we close." Mirani promised again "I will this won't take too long." "Fine, have fun. I will see you at sundown." Her mother replied. And Mirani headed out of the village a short distance. Near the waterfall she crawled through some bushes and into her secret spot. It was well screened from view by the trees and bushes and offered a spectacular view of the waterfall. When the sun was up there was even a rainbow hanging over the spot. Truly beautiful! With bated breath she lifted the amulet so she could see it and whispered the phrase...

Darn it! I forgot about Kender! Hmmm... How fast can I whip up a replacement (for Ispthd, my main motivation for him was cheese factor anyways)...

Edit: Looking over the conversion, I'd want to talk with you about a conversion for deep pockets should I be selected (or whatever it's called, randomly having stuff on hand that they "acquired")

Edit II: Just in case I don't finish the crunch in time, Sindri Suncatcher is the first Kender wizard to ever live. What do you mean where is his spell pouch! He doesn't need one, he draws his power from the sun! What?! Of course he is a spell caster! Of course you haven't heard of any other Kender wizards! He's the first, pay attention. See watch, he'll conjure a coin pouch now. No this isn't your coin pouch, it's just identical to the one you lost. What I'm not a thief, I conjured it. What no, give that back! It's mine, I conjured it!

(After he finally casts a spell) See there! I told you I was a wizard! (Once he casts the same spell again five minutes later) That's how my magic works! No I'm not a sorcerer, what even is that? I'm a wizard, my magic just works differently because I draw my power from the sun!

Sindri Suncatcher, Kender draconic sorcerer.

Devil, darn should have done one.

Ponies were an option?!?

Kinda feels like they're better in their own setting thou...

In all honesty, I did once read a fanfic that merged the ponies with Faerun. I'm no FR fan, but it worked pretty well.

Anyways, Dotraj, I've read the new Chronicles, so I have to say no to that name. Unless you're okay with a wizard named Maddoc following you around. :P

Ponies? What are these ponies.

Awww...

Zal Image here was sitting at a table sipping a tea made from medical herbs. A tall thin female Drow, who looked as much male as female in an odd way. Was feeling sick again, she had been out in the sun to long with her last job. Lost farm boy who was in the next village trying to join a party hunting undead for fame and fortune. Seems his father did not see that as a good move, not with harvest coming. So she has brought him back tied up like a pig and out cold. A few coin for a few days work. Pathetic, she had once been paid 1000s just to find a lovers name down below. But here she was in a one cart town trying to do her best. She took note of everyone's comings and goings. As in Investigator how could she not. The Pixie on the table she was sat at was having fun. The odd woman sitting and talking, the brave fighters and odd races. She must have looked a little pathtic to them. Hunched up and coughing in her hot tea. The bar maid came over with more hot tea. Zal thanked her paid a copper and sipped it. They knew her here, with all the races she had seen here hers was just another face. Yes now and then someone said something but Drow had that reputation for some. She just got on with things and did her job when some one would pay. Three days in the sun light and she was ill again, She was a cynic it all meant so little to her. She had little time for gods and power games. The Drow court was a long way away and she was ill so she had other things on her mind. Hot tea was really all that counted right now.

Alright, I've whittled the list down to thirteen. It was painful. There are a lot of amazing submissions here. I hope to have it down to 7 by tomorrow, barring some last-minute entries. Recruitment will officially close in about three hours.

Three more hours; Good luck All! Thanks K.C. for running the game, selected or not it's been fun building a race and creating Brunner.

Personality:

Most Trow are ugly, mean, petty, loners who enjoy nothing more than hiding in their bog and chasing off smaller humanoids or hiding from bigger ones. Occasionally, if a technologically advanced creature comes near their swamp, they will try and trick the unsuspecting traveler into giving them a mechanical device to smash.

Brunner in some ways is not so different, though he has not claimed his own bog yet and is considered “bogless” by other Trow. He enjoys the smashing of small mechanical devises and carries the gordd bren mawr that his father family has passed down from generation to generation for just such occasions. Since he doesn’t have a bog to call his own, he doesn’t automatically chase smaller fey, but it isn’t because he’s not tempted. He has little patience for other creatures and quickly speaks his mind, whether asked or not. His sense of humor gets him into almost as many fights as his temper, and he enjoys the sound others make when discomforted.

Strangely enough it was his association with a small fey named Trix that un-expectantly change Brunner. Trix, an ‘Inquisitor of the Unseelie Court’ introduced Brunner to the idea of becoming one and Brunner accepted. While Brunner is still an ugly, mean, petty, standoffish loner he has a larger purpose; to support Queen Mab, to protect the Unseelie Accords and to espouse the cause of the Winter Court. After taking the oath, like all Inquisitors of either Court, he is unable to tell a lie. But the oath to the Queen has changed him in other ways. While most Trow are complete loners, it has allowed Brunner to work with others while he is doing the work of the Winter Court.

An odd form came into the Inn, its upper parts where thous of a attractive woman. Noble clothing fine and well made. Her lower body was how ever that of a large Snake. Image here

She glided across the floor. She carried some marking shopping and want passed everyone and up the steps to the higher class rooms.

Boy, we sure are excited. Ain't that right Azreal?

The Large dragon gives a shake of its head. Yes, most certainly, my excitement is exceeding my normal limits. Its quite the thrill.

The young man gives the dragon a rub on the head.
Nothing we want more than to be selected for this journey. T'would give us a reason to leave here and see everything this world has to offer, Flying in the air, letting the wind take us where it may. Naught better than that in the world we say.
