Haldan sees the opening, and takes it. He rushes in and with a simple swipe of his foot, disrupts the anchor rune for the summoning spell! In a flash the krooth vanishes!

It takes longer than normal for everyone's heart rates to return to normal. Death was coming...

For the victory, each performer earns 120 XP. Haldan's use of skill earns him 1 Hero Point.

Chark glances about frantically, making sure the danger is indeed past as the krooth vanishes, then audibly exhales. She lowers her guard, saying, Well done, Haldan! as she moves over to Goliath and casts stabilize on the great bear.

Satisfied they will not lose him this day, she sets about tending the wounds of Tiny and Goliath.

The party moves to the doors on the southern wall.

These two identical rooms look like they were once mundane closets, likely for items used routinely in worship services. A few moth‑eaten priests’ robes still hang from brass pegs in both areas, and shelves stocked with metal pendants, candelabras, and bells line the walls. Empty spaces on the shelves suggest that some items here have been removed, and a broken bottle of scented sacramental water on the floor of the western storage room hints at the intruder’s disrespect for the site.

There's an impressive looking shield resting against the wall in the eastern room.

This chamber has towering ebony doors to the east and west. A stone statue of a human man clad in a flowing robe has one hand raised in a gesture of warning and a burning brazier held in its other hand. The statue looks as though it has been broken and reassembled several times. It stands directly in front of the western door. Other than several chunks of stone and black wood scattered across the floor, the room is bare.

Chark, a bit oeverwhelmed, isn't sure what she's looking at beyond a very large statue with an actual lit brazier in hand...

It reaches out to crush Charlie:
ATK: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 for DOUBLE DMG: 2d12 + 8 ⇒ (12, 3) + 8 = 23
It then grabs him and then shoves him into the lit brazier:
FIRE: 3d8 ⇒ (5, 3, 3) = 11 and Charlie takes 1d8 Persistent Fire DMG.
