The Nightmare
Shadows surround you they are crying for help. Your help. Another large shadow appears it then starts ripping through the other crying shadows one by one. Then larger shadows appear, each with strange shapes and begin devouring and clawing the crying shadows. Then a then shadows wielding an array of weapons appears and start fighting with the monsters. It looks like an even battle. You are not sure what side will win but the fighting is getting louder. So loud you can hardly stand it. You then wake up. It is early morning. You can hear the cars and people of the city going this way and that. You ponder for a moment about the dream and how eerie and real it all felt.
Goal and play style: So you will be average folk in a modern city setting let's call the city Spire. It is a L.A inspired city in style, size and population you can have whatever job no rich people(former rich is ok). Your goal is to solve the mysteries in your normal life and to get through the labyrinth. It all starts with a strange dream then launches into a dark mystery. Then you end up being transported to another world that is made up of a massive labyrinth.
You do not stay there though. You will be going back and forth. In that other world you play as the usual Pathfinder classes with all the skills, feats, magic and whatnot. On the modern side though, you will not have all those skills and feats just your base stats as you are now an average person.
Rules:
Races: Young Humans only (under thirty-five and over fourteen)
Classes: All Pathfinder and third party allowed[/B]
Stats: 20 point buy
Unchained: Adventure skills
Wealth: I'll choose that according to your occupation. Money is still valuable but you cannot take it to the labyrinth. Over there you find and craft new gear at first more options will become available later.
Equipment: Just ask what you would like your starting equipment to be on the other side and I'll let you know. As for on the city side you can choose three of these: Lighter, 12 ounce plastic thermos, pocket knife, pocket flashlight, duct tape, pen, notebook, bobby pin and a bandage wrap. You will have simple backpacks so you can carry other things you obtain. You all have a cell phone and a vehicle of your choice within reason. No tanks or whatever.
Note: I want all your characters to be going through a rough patch in life and are feeling one or many of these things, whether it be extreme stress, anxiety, depression, ect...

Hey. Just wanted to point you towards this. It's some pathfinder rules meant to reflect modern-day people. It also has rules for guns and stuff, if that ever becomes relevant.
If you use this, it might be a good idea to remove the archetypes and training, as they make characters a lot more action-hero like, than I think you're going for here.

Lucas Whitfield wrote:Hmm.. impressive. I shall join you in this.I'm pretty sure you are effectively making two seperate characters, one d20 modern, and one pathfinder, who just happen to use the same stats, from a mechanical stand point. Not a Rogue 3/Fast hero 1 character, for example.
I think he is still working on the other character.
