The caravan to Falcons hollow has been traveling for over a week now coming from the north west of Andoran and traveling eastwards.
The 5 merchants have hired a few adventurers due to the dangers of the area (some of which only for part of the way though) and also
offered other travelers to travel with them so that the dangers of the darkmoon vale can be faced with superior numbers.

All of you have been with the caravan for a few days by now and according to the merchants it is now only one more day until you are in falcons hollow.
As it has already become night it was decided to rest onece more and make big fires as the caravan stopped just a bit to the south of the offsets of the famed darkmoon wood.
Not even 15m to the north of you the canopy of tree starts already with all trees being quite tall and of different types, even a few very strange looking trees with a blackish
bark are standing there which are even more massive than their brethren.

The nightsky is quite beautiful with not a single cloud obscuring the stars above. The wind you feel is light and still relatively warm and a full moon is shining downwards.
The carts and horses are a bit away from the fire with the fire place being between them and the forest. Some of the merchants are already sleeping in the carts while others
eat their soups and are exchanging stories about their travels. They seem very nervous though as the whole day the howls of wolves could be heard from the forest as if the wolves
were following you but that is surely impossible as no wolf in its right mind would attack such a large group.

I would need perception rolls from all

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Bhoors looks for the caravan leader, "Beautiful night . . . but not in the Vale. I suggest that the watch get doubled tonight." He leaves to make his way to his bedroll knowing he has a late watch coming. He turns back to the caravan lead, "Next time a few days later or a few days sooner might not put us out in the wild under a full moon. Pray that is only wolves you hear." He continues on toward his bedroll wary and restless. Erastil watch over us this night. Keep the wolves and worse at bay.

Male Gnoll Cleaner (Slayer) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

The bent form of the cloaked man in the mask patrols/paces the caravan warily, unable to rest easy on such a night.

"One more night of this and we finally reach the town and can rest easy."

He says this more to himself than any of his companions as a way to settle his nerves.

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Answering Tokhan back Bhoors responds not realizing he is interrupting Tokhan conversation with himself, "Meh the Hollow was a depressing place last I was there. In land supposedly 'free' I have seen many barely survive working for the Lumber Consortium. They run that place like the lumberjacks are little better than slaves."

Female

In the back of a wagon is the sound of a loud and reverberating snoring suggesting maybe a bear or a smaller dragon.

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Bhoors leans back against his blanket on his bedroll using it as a pillow. Trying to catch some z's before his turn at watch. His eyes open, "Is that a bear," he suggests in half jest. "Seriously that is some loud snoring . . . is that the half-elf. Maybe that will keep the werewolves out."

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

"You really think so?" the young looking elf who has a hood over his head looks up from his place by the fire. As is during most of the times when he asks something he has a book out already and is scribbling into it "are these werewolves really afraid of such a quiet snore and " he looks at the merchants for a moment then back to the human "why is it that people seem to fear them so more than wolves? Do these werewolves have a stronger bite? or do they have more flesh that can be eaten on their ribs?" He seems genuinely curious there and shows that he knows absolutely nothing about this strange world. His voice is quite nice to hear.

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Bhoors looks to the elf, "Quiet!? You must be new to these parts. Would they be afraid no. There are plenty of monsters in the wide world but werewolves don't just kill they turn you into monsters. Yes their bite is worse. I would not recommend eating them."

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

His eyes grow wide "Their bite turns me into a moster? that would be" he stpos scribbling into the book at this "that would not be very desierable now would it?" he begins to write again "Do all bites transform you? And" he stops again "To come back to your question young one. That -snore- as you call it sounds like the sleeping sounds of a newborn to me in terms of how loud they seem. You wouldn't call it a snore or loud ever if you heard me or one of the elders snor........" he stops himself and looks confused and also very pained for a moment one delicate finger going to his chest where also the golden medaillon that can be seen time and again through rips in the clothing resides then he takes out another journal almost hurriedly and begins to scribble down there.

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

"Truly snoring must be significant among your people if that racket is a little sound."

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

Daedrons eyes become glossed over for a second before he scribbles a bit more and closes that book. "Not more important than for you only that even the smallest childs among us snore louder than that but then again we normally need not fear wolves or how were they called? Werewolves? I wonder though why all seem also so nervous about the wolves or is it only the fear about those werewolves?" he looks at the distant trees and shakes his head slightly as if trying to wake from a draeam.

Female Human Swashbuckler/1

Lux pulls her fingers back through her tangled red hair as a smirk lifts the side of her mouth. She has been mostly quiet except for fits of whistling here and there.

"This business with these wolf-blokes seems to be one of those things mums make up to scare the wee ones. I wouldn't give much credence to it. We're more likely to be set upon by Goblins, I'd think."

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Bhoors looks over to Lux and reassures, "If we were anywhere else, anywhere else, I would agree, however I grew up just a few miles from here. Mums have a good reason for such warnings in the vale."

Female

The snoring continues peacefully undisturbed by notions of lycanthropes.

Female Human Swashbuckler/1

Lux's smile deepens and she's always smiling, or at least it seems like it. "I don't claim to know everything, just seems as if a man that's also a wolf could find a better lot in life than chasing us around, especially with the snoring and what not. I bet it drives them away."

"Wolves have amazing hearing, like bats, they are." She adds.

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

"It depends though. If the snoring sounds too humanoid they more likely than not will find it tasty to hear it and come to find something to eat. At least I know I would." He smiles a bit at that and licks over his lips "Nothing better than food that is loud enough to tell you easily where it is." He looks almost lovingly now at the trees "Or food that comes to you because you get it to believe that YOU are the food"

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Bhoors looks toward Daedron raising an eyebrow a little confusion on his face, "Ah okay."

It is quite beautiful and the merchants are heading to bed now leaving the night guard to your group while the ythemselves rest on their carts. The nightsky is quite beautiful to behold
and the noises of the animals of the woods in the distance give quite a nice sound.

Perception 10+:
Something makes you uneasy for a moment then you recognize it even though there are noises coming from the woods they all seem to come from quite afar not from near the border of the woods

Perception 17+ no darksight/lowlight vision:
Something makes you uneasy for a moment then you recognize it even though there are noises coming from the woods they all seem to come from quite afar not from near the border of the woods. Then you hear it the sound of a snapping branch coming just from the border of the forest. Then you see it against the moonlight some movement can be seen in between the trees. The beings who can only barely be made out thanks to the distance and darkness are moving alongside the canopy of trees as if lining up. they seem as large as large dogs or wolves and you count 5 such shadows.

Perception 17+ with darksight/lowlight vision:
Something makes you uneasy for a moment then you recognize it even though there are noises coming from the woods they all seem to come from quite afar not from near the border of the woods. Then you hear it the sound of a snapping branch coming just from the border of the forest. Almost afterwards you see them moving between the trees. 5 wolves with a dark fur who seem to line up at the canopy of trees and are looking at the caravan as if they are going to attack it any moment

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

"Well at least it seems like anything out there sounds far off."

The perception results are from the rolls I had asked before so no rolls need to be made as you all already made them

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Oh that would change my actions considerably.

Bhoors whips his head around toward the tree line studying it intently. "Look lively. There are wolves moving among the trees 5 or so of them." He points in their general direction. He grabs his bow and knocks and arrow.

Are lots of people sleeping on the ground or are they mostly in wagons. Any chance I can climb up on one of the wagons to get a better look/good place to fire on them from.

All who sleep, thus the merchants and also Berry are sleeping on the carts themselves....in the back of the carts just beside the goods to be exact. Although the commotion that is ensuing will surely wake all of them up.

Those still asleep which are the merchants and berry are just waking up and count as surprised for the first round of the ensuing battle. The coach boxes of the carts have enough free place as most of them are empty so that someone could climb up there. Also they are only 8-25 feet from the fire (the first cart only being 8 feet and the others are lined up behind that one)

Forgot to mention: You guys can act first then the wolves as pbp isn't that good suited for complete initiative rules I'll abbreviate there most of the times

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Bhoors moves to the front of the nearest wagon climbs into the driver bench. He look at the shapes moving trying to catch more details.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Hoping I can pick out the largest. Or if I get the feel that one of the wolves is in charge or if their behavior matches that of a werewolf. That may be more than I can 'pick out' but if one or more are lycanthropes they are my favored enemy.

If I get the feel in character that they are closing in or going to attack I raise the alarm.

If they attack:
Bhoors yells trying to wake who he can, "To arms wolves are attacking."

Knowledge nature:
The wolves out there act quite irregular with how they stalk around the camp and preparing. They are clearly advancing though. This behaviour is normally only the case if they are led by something a werewolf or a worg but none of the two seem to be among the wolves. Although it seems as if they are waiting for something for a moment for something unseen it is clear that the alpha is not among those 5
Suddenly an howl can be heard from insde the woods and the wolves as one advance on the camp and are rushing it
Knowledge nature:
It is clear now that the alpha must be farther away which is unusual except if it is really a werewolf or a worg

Female Human Swashbuckler/1

I think he intended we would act in this round prior to the wolves. So I think round 1 is already underway.

nope you 4 made the perception roll while berry failed and is still asleep durinh the surprise only after the resolution after the surprise she can also act alongside all others

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

For some reason I did not pick up that it was a surprise round. I probably would not be able to have fired then. I would pick moving to a favorable position and raising alarm over taking a shot. Its up to you.

Even though the arrow hits one of the wolves in the flank causing it to howl in pain, the bolt fires too high and hits one of the trees behind the wolves.

Just as Bhoors yell of "To arms wolves are attacking." begins to wake the sleeping merchants and all others Daedrons fire washes over 3 of the wolves including the one that was hit earlier by an arrow. There are howls of pains being heard by the wolves followed by angry growls.

The one wolf whose flank is bleeing and whose fur is burnt now is limping back slightly trying to move back into the forest, while the other two wolves who were hurt by the fire are rushing Bhoor and Daedron each.

The other 2 wolves are passing the two with one going for Lux while the last one is rushing one of the carts and you hear the calls of fear and also pain as the wolf that ran there is trying to bite one of the merchants.

Wolf 1 is badly hurt with an arrow sticking out of its burnt flank.

Round 1: Initiative: First the characters then the wolves

Male Half-Elf Bard 4 College of Blades HP 14/29 | AC 14 | Passive Perception 11 I Inspiration 1 |ACP 2 | TCP 2 Current Picture of Bhoors

Round 1
I assume that no matter when I go I am going to be fighting a wolf. Up in the wagon. Assuming my dance partner is till with me on my init:

Bhoors lets out a cry of pain. He complains as he contends with the wolf. "So much for the safety of climbing into the wagon." He drops his bow and draws his axe.

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

"To the hells with you curr!"

The wolf despite it being an animal jumps backwards so that the strike only hits the empty air.

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

Daedron curses in a gutural language before saying aloud "Someone ditract the food from our travel companions!" with that he takes his quaterstaff in both hands and lets it rain down onto the wolf in front of him. "Now SIT AND DIE to be eaten!" he growls that at the wolf in front of him.

attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The wolf manages to duck under the swing. It is almost as if something told it to duck or more you heard a loud howl just before it ducked!

Male Gnoll Cleaner (Slayer) 1

Tokhan, who had, apparently, been so distracted by his musings that he failed to notice the wolves or the group's initial reaction, finally catches on to the attack and decides to do something about it.

He takes a quick step out from where he'd been, pulling a javelin from behind his back and launching it at the nearest wolf.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The javelin hits true and catches the wolf just as it was launching forward to bite bhoor.
It is thrown sideways and falls to the ground with the javelin standing tall as if it were a monument.

wolf 2 is down

Female

BErry stands up and draws her weapon. "Is that a fight I hear going on outside!?!"

Round 2

Bhoors drops his bow and picks up his axe. He fires an arrow at the wolf attacking the merchant.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

The wolf 3 that just bit Lux growls harsh at her and suddenly turns to the left and starts to run from her and runs up to its fallen comrade to nudges the body with its nose growling.
attack of opportunity possible

The wolf attacking Daedron is growling out loud and then bites him again, biting deep into his arm while managing through his weight to trip daeddron and bring him to fall onto his back.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Trip attempt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

The last wolf that had attacked the merchants before now attacks one of the merchants who had driven him away from the wounded one. He manages to bite deep into the leg of the merchant and brings him falling down.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Trip attempt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Although when Bhoors arrow almost hits him and the arrow just passes its face the wolf jumps backwards and growls at Bhoor baring its fangs

Round 2 opened

Male Tainim Sorcerer (Trueblood) 1

Daedron cries out in pain and although his eyes flash into an inhuman shape for a moment he bites down on the pain and anger welling up inside him and he makes some slight movements with his arm and grumbles some words filled with anger and hate while keeping an eye on his attacker. He points at his attacker and for a moment a green shine comes from his fingertip but disappears again. He looks at the finger for a moment despite the blood running out of the wound on his body as if the finger had just betrayed him before he focuses his anger on the wolf that is standing just beside his lying body and will surely try to bite him again.

Defensive spell casting magic missile
defensive casting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Male Gnoll Cleaner (Slayer) 1

Tokhan moves to close off the escape of the nearest wolf, pulling out an oddly-bent battleaxe as he does so. Taking hold of it with both hands, he swings down upon the creature with all his might.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

After his swing, he removes a hand from his axe to adjust the silly mask he wears.

The wolf who had previously attacked the merchants and was narrowly missed by Bhoors arrow gets almost cleaved in half and falls down dead before it hits the ground.

As the one wolf runs away from her Lux uses the short break to reload her crossbow.

Berry on the other hand manages to draw her weapon and get to the merchants.

The wolf who is now at his fallen comrades side growls menacingly at the group while the other growls at daedron. They seemingly prepare to attack again....that is until a loud howl can be heard from the forest. It sounds somehow bigger and different from the howls before, but similar to the howls at the beginning of the fight.

The two wolves growl again but then turn around and rush towards the forest but not before the one at the fallen wolves side nudges its companion one last time.

They can be shot at one last time before they manage to get into the woods but else combat over. Daedron is currently not in a position to make an attack of opportunity

As the wolves are running the cries of the wounded merchants can be heard with one of the womans that accompany the caravan screaming out "my husband please someone!" she is sitting on the cart just near the first bitten merchant who has already lost consciousnes.
