Cal basically has a form of motion-sickness, or more accurately, teleport sickness. Seeing the world distort and twist around him? Yeah. He's gonna puke.
Same thing will happen whenever he teleports. It's just a character flaw- he is... Well, he isn't exactly human, but he is human, after all.

Technically, handle animal is trained only, but I think that's to teach an animal tricks. To calm it down is probably fine untrained.
Unless you'd like to treat his bonded item bonus as being trained. He doesn't have the skill ranks to put in that.
