Been away for the last two years, back and wanting to restart a Maure Castle campaign started two years ago. Have been wanting to play around with Maure Castle for a long time as I have all the current levels of the castles including the ones from piped piper press :) Anywho looking for up to 6-8 players wanting to play. Will be using Golarion as the setting. PFRPG classes are in(meaning any class from a current book released for PFRPG are in), Prestige classes are allowed from all the same books. Player's Handbook II, Expanded Psionics Handbook in. Tome of Magic (Binder and Shadowcaster) and Tome of Secrets in. Dragon Compendium classes in (except Montebanks and Death Master). Archtypes are okay but need to be approved first.

Most races in; any evil races (ie drow, derro, duegar, lycanthropes, etc.) out; On case by case I may approve a evil race but the game is going to consist of non-evil characters so you will have to have a good reason why they would be running with the group and not the atypical drizzt excuse. Races from the new Races book out next week are acceptable but will need to be reviewed before the game starts to verify it matches with any new rules.

25 point buy, Anyone interested needs to put the character together. I will make the final decision based on a few factors. Characters should have full backgrounds and stats. Looking for people willing to post at the minimum 5 - 10 times a week. HP will be Max + Con Bonus at 1st level all level there after need to be rolled in thread

Starting at 12th Lvl; Characters must be complete/approved before game will start which won't be till sometime later this week or next.

Fast XP Chart
Good or Neutral with good tendencies for the alignments (no EVIL alignments)

Each character will choose 3 traits.
Will be using http://invisiblecastle.com/ for dice rolling.
Will post further details on exact location of setting once game is a little closer

Interested as an Alchemist with the Cryptbreaker archetype. Will try to post a full submission before the weekend.

Sounds great and very fitting to the setting as this will be a total dungeon delve

Cheliax

dotting for interest.

when's the deadline for submissions?

Cheliax

One correction on players wanting to do Psionics, chuck out Expanded Psionics and use Dreamscarred Psionics book instead.

Cheliax

as soon as you get something up let me know. I want to kick the game off next week sometime, deadline sometime late this weekend (Though with the new races book out adjustments may be need to be made just before the game kicks off).....oh and by the way, Whats up Radavel been awhile since I haunted this board remember playing in one of your pbp about two or so years ago. How you been?

Grand Lodge

Interested, I am new to pbp but looking into a cleric or bard

Cheliax

be a good idea to have someone who can heal peeps but I leave it to you to decide if thats what you want to be

I'll build and post a conjuration wizard. We can equip our characters with standard wealth by level, correct?

Grand Lodge

I like the Cleric and paladin
I'll design her when I get back from work

Cheliax

psychicmachinery wrote:

Yep, use the standard. which if you need a reference for what to base this on look at the following srd for the amount which you should have at the beginning which is 108,000 gp

Creation rules

this brings up a side point, I will be reviewing all items magical or otherwise that our purchased with these funds and if I feel something is too powerful or over the top/munckinie I may ask you to remove it, just a heads up

Looking to Play an Elven Ranger/Wizard. Im new to this site, but have been playing pathfinder since it came out, and DnD in general since I was 9 yrs old. Im 23 now, so I have decent amount of experience. I'll have a character sheet in within a few hours. Only problem is I don't have the Campaign setting book, I plan to look online for information to use for my background, but if you have anything you could send me to help out, it would be appreciated..

Thanks

Cheliax

I would suggest checking out something like the PF wiki which has some info in it about the setting but not everything like the campaign setting book will

Would you consider using a TWF Fighter that uses 2 Shields for weapons? I know IRL it might not make sense but the game mechanics are there and I've been wanting to try one for a while now. I just thought I'd ask before I go through the trouble of making it and then having it rejected.

Do you use maps in game? Your description mentioned you had them. I'd like to know how you use them to interact with players.

Thanks.

Ummm..sure you can create one I can't say if it will be approved just off the basic idea, throw the character together and as long as it is not a total munchkinie character I will likely be okay with it, as to maps, yes when we get closer I will give more detail but basically the last time I did a play by post I created via google docs maps based off the campaign maps that you could interact with. I have to see if I can do that still or better as its been like 2 years since the last time I did this

How about a Human Grapple Monk(ey)?

Cheliax

stat it up

Good to hear Dude. Yeah I had to take a break for the past two years for some RL reasons.

Like your character idea, stat it up sounds interesting.

Umm... does this look like it's stacking (or statting) up to be a Groupe Macabre? Trick-or-treat'ing freaky-deakies?

Just curious. Is anything heroic/valiant acceptable?

In fact that is my main requirement is that they be good or neutral non-evil character. Heroic/valiant is totally acceptable

I am curious about a few things.

1.) We must roll all hit dice post first level on the board yet we are to fully flesh out our characters prior to...how exactly is this done?

2.) How do you define Munchkinnie? (This seems like an evil Disney spin-off)

3.) Do you feel that an overly analytical 68 year old Wizard with a penchant for "Hmmmmm"-ing a lot would detract from your over-all effect?

4.) Is this list long enough yet?

No but in all seriousness, I am curious to know if someone who can't seem to find a PbP game that lasts beyond 4-5 days, is gonna have luck here.

Anyways I will work on my Varanasi Male Wizard and then you can let me know if I qualify :D

Oh and how do I submit this to you when I am done exactly?

Grand Lodge

Starting on a cleric of Shelyn, thinking of giving her decent armor and a glaive, have her stats, now just gotta fill in the holes

Cheliax

Just post the stats under the alias you will be using for the game I will look it over. As to the hit points my mistake on that one, took this from the original maure castle game I ran over two years ago. Just go with max hit points up to 12th + con bonus for each level. I think I was thinking for future hit dice it will be rolled in thread.

As to Munchkinie that just means don't make a totally bs character that sole purpose is to make the rest of the group annoyed or makes the game not worth playing. Stacking is okay within reason, no bs magic items that will make me regret approving the character. Like I said I will look over the character once posted and if anything looks iffy I will ask you to change it.

Yeah I hear ya about the 4-5 day thing. My intent is for this to last quite sometime as I don't currently have an RL game so as long as I have players posting it will continue.

Lastly I think the idea of an old fuzzy wizard is a great idea especially if you play it to the hilt and he adds to the flavor of the game

Cheliax

Critzible wrote:

Sounds good post it when you have it complete I will look it over

Ok I will post as soon as I am done.

Will Be under Bale Morgaise He is a 68 year old Wizard who got told all his life he could not adventure....well Screw them he's gonna do it anyways...Screw you ma....I can cast spells!!!

Oh and Since I am a 12th level straight wizard no multi of funky stuffs...Can you give me spell guidelines beyond his initial 7 spells + 2 per level? Or is that my limit?

Cheliax

What do you mean by guidelines? are you asking what sort of spells or something else?

Lord Thasmudyan wrote:

I mean, "Do I get more than that?"

I am just curious as he would have been a scribe or some other clerical caster wizard at a College or Arcane Research Facility. Thus giving him much more time to gather spells, esp. 1-3 as those are the most common.

Also I need to apply aging mods...for him being 68....is that acceptable to you?

Cheliax

Yeah I was going to mention that you did need to apply the aging modifiers due to his age.

As to the more spells than that only if you have higher than normal intelligence, take a feat that would give you extra, or something to that effect.

Grand Lodge

Any openings Left Lord Thasmudyan?

Lord Thasmudyan wrote:

Int 18(Base for 17 points)+2(Human)+2(Age)+3(Level bonus) = 25

So, with an intelligence of 25 I would still start with only 7 spells + 22 (2 per level) because the extra int for age & level do not count according to the mechanics.

As a DM in the past starting at this level or higher I pad their Spellbook like this:

1st Int mod times 2
2nd Int mod times 2
3rd Int mod times 2
4th Int mod times 1.5
5th Int mod times 1.5
6th Int mod times 1.5
7th Int mod times 1
8th Int mod times 1
9th Int mod times 1

This gives a higher level Character what they might have earned through adventuring and purchasing spells over a 20th level career. Also as I am taking the aging mods both good and bad it reflects more time in researching spells. This is just my thoughts, and I will acquiesce to your decision either way :D

Cheliax

So if your talking more like additional spells in your spell book than yeah thats fine. just go by what you just posted. If your saying extra spells per day no it needs to follow the max per level and due to intelligence

Cheliax

Krumthi wrote:

Yes, there is still room.

Lord Thasmudyan wrote:

Nope this is just what is in my Spellbook. Thank you. Shall be posted here soon

Grand Lodge

Are you going to allow Gunslingers?

Cheliax

yeah I am fine with gunslingers cause its out of the PF RPG books

Grand Lodge

okay, I am thinking about a gunslinger/rouge combo not sure yet, but by tomorrow night I will have everything set up and posted here. might even skip gunslinger all together as well. I am not sure. but I wanted to check for sure

Thanks for not taking offense. Without giving too much away, will this be dungeon-crawly or is there room for a mount?

Was thinking a mounted summoner.

Grand Lodge

I am going to go Straight Rouge to be the skill monkey. I find that this is something I enjoy more and more, I will have everything set up in the next couple of days
my Name though is going to be Drake Ghosthowl
Human Rouge 12th level.

Flykiller here with his alchemist's alias. Extracts and gear still not selected, I'll update those tonight.

Background:

Gelik is a highly intelligent gnome with a penchant for mischief, who has always been fascinated by alchemical transmutation of substances. His pursuit of exotic reagents and tomes of obscure knowledge has often led him into various dungeons or sepulchres, which would stop most researchers, but not Gelik. Driven by his insatiable curiosity, he has tailored his skills to overcome the challenges such locations commonly present.
With time, he became somewhat famous locally, selling out his services to the nobility and clergy who had problems with restless dead or animated guardians in forgotten tombs, taking his payment in samples of monster tissue and musty tomes found inside. Once he has heard that another company of adventurers is being formed to brave the cellars of the Maure Castle, he has ventured out to compete for the spot, not wanting to miss such an opportunity.

Shadow Lodge

Background:
I grew up on the backside of streets, living off my parents and their wealth. At the age of 8 I started getting to trouble, sneaking into places that I shouldn’t be. I think I have been inside every warehouse in (fictional Town) at least a dozen or so times. At 10 years old my father had passed away and it was just my mother and myself, I was left his weapon, a kukri, (Heirloom Weapon) At 11 I was recruited to join the thieves guild of (fictional Town) by this time I was already skilled with the kukri and I only used it. I still have it with me to this day. (Child of the Streets) I rose through the ranks quickly and still managed to keep my secret hidden from my mother. I was never able to tell her that her son was rouge. I kept up a front with my mother telling her that I found a job as a caravan guard (world traveler). By the age of 20, I left the house after mother died and I sold everything, I was a lot happier with my skills and myself. I joined a couple of adventuring groups delving into dungeons and doing some tome robbing. I came to the tavern last night and heard about this adventure and thought I would join. I heard a lot about this place and I was hoping to test my skills and learn more information.
Drake

This is what I have done so far, I will post stats and skills tomorrow, and I will also have them on my profile page as well.

this is a straight up good old fashion 1e style dungeon crawl there are some open areas but more often it will be close quarters, mind you when I originally ran this module two years ago I am pretty sure one of the players was a summoner however I think he didn't use it as a mount. so a summoner is not a bad idea but a mounted one may not be very fruitful

Stats look good noticed though in the specail abilities sections a couple of the sections of text cut off half way through the ability descriptions, might want to fix that its no biggie. Good job so far once you get your equipment added let me know. Background will work I am putting together the info to post in the campaign info tab will post this to help the rest of you get your backgrounds to be cohesive.

Got lady Zaldanes' Stats and gear, all i have left is a good background and I will post her, question though do we post them via the board or is there a way to do a profile without getting rid of the one I have currently, I apologize in advance I am a newbie at the PbP

never mind I figured it out, This is Critzible by the way

Got the easy stuff lined out in this alias now gotta go back later this evening to finish it up as i work today

Grand Lodge

Cheliax

yeah i saw it, Krumthi. Its a good start once you get finished I will review the rest

Here is psychicmachinery's Wizard (Conjuration(Teleportation))

He's a joker with a bit of traditional elf haughtiness. He has a family back in Kyonin that means the world to him, and hopes to one day pass on his magical skill to his young daughter, but also feels the need to keep his family in comfortable style, hence the adventuring. His familiar is a faerie dragon named Luca who tends to want to play pranks on Aelaeron whenever possible, but often comes in very useful in clutch situations.

I'm still working on spells, and I need to stat up his Faerie Dragon familiar. I was going to spend my starting wealth on extra spells, but if I get them for free, please let me know.

Cheliax

if its for you spell book yes thats fine. Rysil you will need to do this as well. as it relates to the cost of having found or purchased additional spells for your spell books
