The Hand of Corruption: GM_Loki's Black Crusade
Game Master
Lokio
You are a Heretic; a renegade turned against the oppressive Imperium of Man. The crumbling monolith mobilizes the might of its numberless armies, and you must stand against it. But can you realise your destiny before that power consumes you?
Profile still needs the update - thought the text in the spoiler in thread should be reasonably accurate for now. I generally build the char up in word and transfer across once mostly done to avoid loss of data events.
Heh - a chunk of my posting is from work, which while it blessedly does not block Paizo, also does not allow for any modifications to be made to browsers or applications.
Don't have the book in front of me atm, but the character looks good as far as I can tell, AK. He seems like a very angry ex-guardsman. Perfection motivation. Imperium holding you back?
GM_Loki - I realise that I haven't done much by way of background, it is ok to keep it fairly simple?
For Zadlu, his gluttunous craving will be for chymistry of all kinds and he'll be delving into tech and such to fulfill the ideal of better living through chymistry. The Nurgle influence will come slowly over time as his body decays in some ways and areas and his Perception of Perfection becomes ever skewed by Chaos.
Mechanically will be developing as Team Medic / Chainsword shiskebober.
GM, honestly its all very much a work in progress at the moment. I've taken different motivations, pride etc. several times over and i'm a little all over the place with it.
P.S- I think your talking about Mark's renegade, not mine :).
Pretty much as long as you keep to the core of the archetype, you can make your background as general or detailed as you want it to be. Though you may find that in choosing your character's disgrace, motivation, and pride, you're developing a background without even knowing it. In your case, you've determined that you're a master craftsman, have a healthy appetite, and seek self-perfection. Also, renegade has an inferred military background element. So, basically, you're a former combat medic who might have performed chemical experiments on either himself or other soldiers basically trying to create perfection of some sort (super soldier serum, anyone). Or you were trying to prevent the spread of a plague on the battlefield and it evolved into something more than that.
Either way, you've basically got what you need. You can put more into it, but it's not really necessary. Most of the character will come out in play anyway. Also, if you don't announce your history ahead of time, it makes it easier for you to make it up later after you've got more of a feel for the character. Or he himself might not even remember. Chaos has a habit of doing that...
Just so long as you guys include how you ran afoul of Inquisitor Renthor, got captured, and brought aboard the Chains of Judgement.
And, no AK, I was talking about yours. I was looking through your aliases to see if you had made it yet. I'm assuming un-named Black Crusade renegade is it.
Yeah. I have a guest staying with me here in my small flat at the moment so i've been a bit preoccupied. Unnamed Black Crusade is my notes to build the character, although it keeps changing...
If i'm holding the start of the game up, I can focus on it fully and finish it tonight. I just thought I wasn't the only one not finished :)
The 56 Fellowship is central to my PC's rise and fall and subsequent rise.
Imagine being kidnapped by the Inquisition in the dead of the night and a cover story being spread to his followers that he miraculously ascended to join the Emperor, so that faith and worship in the Emperor would not be tarnished by the revelation that this shining beacon is nothing but a servant of the Ruinous Powers. In fact, my PC was beatified.
However, inquisitorial records designate him only as 'The Deceiver', a name that my PC finds ironic. The truth is the lie and the lie is the truth.
(To protect his legacy, i.e. beatified status and possible sainthood, my PC will never reveal his true name; the Inquisitor knew this much about my PC's psychology)
My PC just wants mankind to discover his humanity. But its rulers' inhumanity forces him to summon forces deadlier than the disease.
Did I mention that 2 Inquisitorial acolytes turned to the 'dark side' upon hearing his sermon?
Very nice. Me like. Fel is the central stat to the Apostate, so I have no more problem with you applying your points to it strategically than I would any other decision.
I've also noticed a trend in the group. An overpowering desire for perfection of self or otherwise.
Looks like we're going to have Khorne and Nurgle running the front room while Tzeentch and Slaanesh run the backroom as well... should make for some nice intra-party discussions :P

Well, it seems were are bunch of overconfident people with high-self esteem :D
Interesting indeed. The logic defines everything! The mathics and true meaning is calculated by cold-logic and understanding the very fabric of this universe. To be machine allows greater heights of intellectual thinking and means of stopping aging.
@AK and Mark, have you decided on the background tie-in I mentioned?
@GM_Loki, I understand we start as prisoners of the Inquisition. Is it alright for me to put Hatred (Inquisition) as my choice for my starting talents? Also since we are in the hands of the Inquisition, it is a reasonable assumption that we won't have our usual equipment with us, yes?
I'm thinking eventually of having a lesser Minion, xp willing. Trayadina is a Dancer of Slaanesh, and she is Soul-Bound to that Great Power. Would it be alright if I rolled her random mutation right now, as part of the creation process. Anyway, thats what this roll is for.
1d100 ⇒ 11
On a second note, Radiant Presence is listed with two opposing requirements. The list of Tier 1 Talents shows a Fellowship of 45 required, but the entry has a Fellowship of 30 required. I guess I should go look up the errata.

This was unfortunately left out of the errata as well. So unless the DM rules otherwise, I'll keep the talent (assuming that the Fellowship 30 was the original requirement)
In case you don't have the errata handy. Here's some info from character creation.
Errata wrote:
Apostate: Starting Skills, Talents, and Gear (page 62):
The Starting Gear subsection should be replaced with “GoodCraftsmanship Laspistol, Best-Craftsmanship Sword or Common
Craftsmanship Power Blade, Guard Flak Armour or Mesh Combat
Cloak, Chaos symbol pendant, unholy tomes, two laspistol clips.”
Heretek: Starting Skills, Talents, and Gear (page 65):
The Starting Gear subsection should be replaced with “BestCraftsmanship Lascarbine, Common-Craftsmanship Power Axe or
Good Craftsmanship Great Weapon (Greataxe), Light Carapace
Armour, any two Good Craftsmanship cybernetics, Ligature Oils,
combi-tool, dataslate, Optical Mechadendrite or Utility Mechadendrite
or Ballistic Mechadendrite with Laspistol, Lumenin Capacitors or
Maglev Coils or Ferric Lure Implants, two lascarbine magazines.
Renegade: Starting Skills, Talents, and Gear (page 67): The
Starting Talents subsection should be replaced with: “Jaded, Quick
Draw, Rapid Reload, Weapon Training (Chain, Flame, Las, Primary,
SP), Weapon Training (Bolt) or Weapon Training (Shock), Catfall or
Combat Sense, Sure Strike or Deadeye Shot or Marksman, Double Team
or Disarm or Takedown, Ambidextrous or Hip Shooting.”
The Starting Gear subsection should also include two
magazines for each of the selected ranged weapons.
Psyker: Starting Skills, Talents, and Gear (page 69): The
Starting Gear subsection should also include two magazines
for the selected ranged weapon.
Hm... wondering when we will start up the game? AK and Rav not ready yet so I understand-> my god it takes a lot of time to build up character especially with the BC :(
Lol, most certainly. Though I'm sure with them being sticklers for technicality and rules, they'd almost certainly be followers of the Corpse Emperor.
@Adoris: In my line of work, whenever there are two different costs for something, the lesser is used until such a time as it is disproved. So, even if FF does errata that later, you already got it at the discount... Lucky you. Also, that roll is perfectly fine. Go ahead and create it.
Also, everyone go ahead and work out your gear. Post the final list here, and delete it from your alias page afterward.
As far as starting the game, I'm in no hurry. My mother-in-law's coming down tomorrow for the weekend, two of my husband's cousins are graduating high school, and one is getting married. Then there's Mother's Day... I'll be a bit busy. If you need some rp in the meantime, feel free to heckle the loyalist scum in Brother Hrothgar's Deathwatch game's discussion. >:D
Oh thanks. But I wasn't going to create her until we'd earned some more xp... I mean, I'm just putting all the pieces together right now, and will present the final version once I can get the associated Talent/Trait. Unless you want to use her as a loosely allied NPC at this time.
Yes, follow the errata. Also, your embedded cybernetics can be kept. They're kind of hard to remove, well, if you want to keep the person alive anyway.
forgot also the acquisitions... but adoris, need to remember that there is the rule if you can have some items during the character creation = how possible it is for you to have it.
I don´t have so much need for everything expect Recoil Glove, Grapnel & Line & Stummer. Somehow they fit his image
ah lol, I been reading the text and saying that if the item is common or more easily available you can get it ( of course there is restriction how many and in this case around 1-4 I guess) but rare? o.O
Can you give me info which page says that. Seems like I missed it but... hmm, I guess I will just take a look since there is no other reasons anymore for me to get items. I guess woudl be just too much plus no reason to make powerful (1. he is just heretic :D and 2. anyway we start without our equipments expect those which are implanted)
