Skyfall - Colonies of the Shining Sea

Game Master Corerue

Battle at the lift

Crosses vs

1 to 50 of 138 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

Skyfall is a high fantasy, mainly homebrew setting with steam-punk epicness thrown in. It will included firearms and gunpowder, so if you don't have the stomach for it please don't argue as to why I built the world I did.

Maps will be made through the use of CC3 from Profantasy and it takes me a little time to build them so please be patient. And It begins...

All characters will start at level 4.

Allowed materials are as followed: any Paizo Product currently printed and any SGG material is fine. I may allow additional books so long as I have them.

Rolling will be as followed:

For each attribute, roll 4d6, dropping the lowest die. If you rolled less than a 7, re-roll, i.e., 7 is the minimum allowed attribute score. In addition, roll 7 attribute scores and drop the lowest. Assign attribute scores as you will. Alternately, you may employ "epic rules" and roll 1d3+15 for any attribute you choose, BUT for every attribute you roll this way, you must roll one other attribute as 1d10+6. So let's say you're rolling a sorcerer(ess). You would probably want to roll 1d3+15 for your charisma, and then take 1d10+6 for maybe strength or dex, leaving your other attributes as standard rolls.

Information about the Old World::

The Demi-human races are long gone, only remnants of Elven, Dwarven, Halfing or other demi-human kind remain. Or the crumbling ruins of cities that were once inhabited by them before they're mysterious departure. Many left the world through unknown means, tired of Humanities ceaseless violence and war. Once they were gone though, much of the worlds highest magics and knowledge faded away, forgotten over time.

Despite the existence of dragonkind, they are not as majestic or as regal as legends once told. Besides they're shining scales and powerful frames they are merely steeds, nothing more and nothing less. There are many theories as to why the the legends are so far fetched compared to the current state dragonkind exists in but unless your scholar such theories and debates are beyond most peoples reach.

A multitude of kingdoms exist but few are so grand as those that rose after the fall of the Bright Empire. The Kingdoms are as followed.

The Imperium of Man / The Imperium:
- Lawful Neutral/Evil

Born from the fires of anarchy and from the betrayal of demi-human allies, the rise of the Imperium was bloody, brutal and without mercy. When the Bright Empire was wracked by war with the hordes of greenskin, the royal family was among the first to be lost in the conflict and with them all stability was lost. Once loyal vassals abandoned the dying Empire, retreating to their holes and watching the empire die from disobedience, civil war and the horde.

That was when the High Inquisitor came, bring the wrath of Abadar and humanity down on the enemies of man. Those who refused to obey were purged by blade and flame. Those who failed to aid humanity were deemed enemies of the Imperium and were subjugated or purged depending on their crimes. Every person who refused to obey, be they general, soldier or craftsman, was judged a traitor of humanity. Leading to immiediately being placed upon the rack and used as an example to those who thought disobedience would go unpunished.

Demi-humans of any kind are tortured and questioned relentlessly before being wracked or executed, most die in prison from malnutrition or their injuries sustained during torture.

The Holy Kingdom of Lyonesse:
- Lawful Good

An Oligarchy, dedicated to the worship of Lyonesse and upholding her tenants to the highest degree possible. The High Priestess of the religion, the Hand of Lyonesse, is the ruler of this fair and lawful nation and makes sure that the concern of its citzens recieve the utmost attention from the benevolent goddess.

Empire of Qin:
- Lawful Neutral

Consisting of many clan houses and ruled by an ancient dynasty. Qin is one of the most stable kingdoms of the five super powers, its people are hardy and ruled by strong traditions of honor. Following the code of the bushido, while being protected by some of the finest warriors the world has ever known.

The Nation of Cygnus:
- Neutral Good

The most technological of the goodly kingdoms and the only one actively engaged in war with Cryx. Cygnus is well known for creating revolutionary advancements as they continue to stave off the machinations of Cryx and their unholy warmachines.

Cygnus is the only democratic nation, with the most advance military the world has ever seen. Their airships are second to none and are on equal terms when engaged with Cryxian Blackships. The only other nation that comes close to matching the resolve, training and discipline of Cygnus's troops is the holy kingdom of Lyonesse.

Cygnus was the first to develop long guns and utilize them with brutal efficiency when they invaded the Cryxian port of Blackwater and reduced it to burning rubble. Ever citizen of Cygnus is reputed to own at least a pistol if not a rifle and are required to serve for five years in the military starting at the age of fifteen. Some make a career of it, others becoming craftsmen and help advance their society with the dedication and discipline they received during their time in the military.

And the Nightmare empire known simply as: Cryx:

AL - Lawful Evil

Cryx scouts the nations for corpses, slaves and any knowledge that they can aquire so that they can undermine the lands beyond their broken islands. Cryx is a nation of murderers, cutthroats and pirates that wouldn't hesitate to sell their neighbors or even their own families to the Meat Market for coin. It is a nation that thrives off piracy, smuggling and slave trade as its major industries. But the living do not rule the Nightmare Empire, no, it is a land ruled by the dead.

Torak, the greatest Dracolich ever to exist, rules over the broken isles of Cryx with an admantine claw and beneath him are his twelve Lichlords who carry out his will to the far edges of the known world. Each of his Lichlords were selected for their abilities and professions in their 'mortal' life. Some were great scholars of their time, easily seduced by the temptation of immortality and some were the most blood thirsty of pirates from days long past, who refused to let old age or death stand in their way.

Beneath the Lichlords are the Ironliches and their armies of thralls, necrotechs and servitors who help ensure that the nightmare empire has fresh goods, and corpses, to keep its industries running while advancing the unread warmachine as they plot to conquer the world. Putting every soul under absolute dominance.

Racial Choices:

Humans are of course the main race and others I would strongly like to see fewer of. Granted that doesn't mean you can't play an elf or dwarf, I just hope to not make a whole party of them.

As an extra incentive for Human Folk, you gain an additional +2 to apply to your ability scores, it is however not stack-able with the +2 that humans already get.

Another Race that is available is the Tabaxi~

The tabaxi (called cat-people or tigerfolk by some) are a reclusive race
of feline humanoids that dwell far from settled areas, making their home
deep in the forests and jungles. They rarely engage in trade or dealings
with other races, preferring to keep to themselves most of the time.
Tabaxis are very graceful and catlike in their movements. They resemble humanoids with feline characteristics most akin to a tiger. Both hands and feet sport vicious claws that can do significant damage when they leap upon their prey. Although tabaxis have little use for clothing or other material possessions, they have a great fascination for and aptitude with weapons of all kinds, learning to employ them with great skill after only a little practice. Tabaxis are skilled with using their claws and bite in combat, often striking from ambush or a height, pouncing upon their prey and attacking with all four claws at once. However, due to their love of weapons many will instead employ a hand-held weapon of some kind while in melee, foregoing their natural attacks. Tabaxis can still employ their bite as a secondary attack if using a weapon, as well as one claw as an offhand attack if the hand is free, but they cannot use their grab or rake abilities while doing so.

A typical tabaxi stands 6 feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Tabaxi Society

Tabaxis live in small groups called prides deep in jungles and warm
forests. A typical pride consists of 1–3 each of males, females, and young. The females tend to be slightly larger than the males, and
typically are the dominant members of a pride. They live a nomadic lifestyle, prowling through their chosen range and hunting in groups of three to five. They carry little in the way of possessions, although they often sport a miscellaneous array of weapons wrested from past prey. Unless hungry, most tabaxi prides leave other intelligent creatures alone, though they may attack if intruders in their range bear especially interesting looking weaponry.

Tabaxi Characters -

Tabaxi characters possess the following racial traits.
+2 Strength, +4 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom.

Darkvision: Tabaxis can see in the dark up to 60 feet.

Racial Hit Dice: A tabaxi begins with two levels of humanoid, which
provide 2d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +1, and base saving throw
bonuses of Fort +0, Ref +3, and Will +0.

Racial Skills: A tabaxi’s humanoid levels give it skill points equal to 2 x (2 + Int modifier).

Racial Feats: A tabaxi’s humanoid levels give it one feat.

AC: +1 natural armor bonus.

Natural Weapons: Tabaxis can fight with 2 claws that deal 1d4 base
damage, plus a bite attack that deals 1d3 base damage. They also can
rake with their hind claws for base 1d3 damage when pouncing or when
grappling a foe, but only if both hands are free.

Special Attacks: Grab, pounce, rake (See Above).

Special Qualities: Weapon aptitude (see Below).

Languages: Tabaxis begin play speaking Common and Tabaxi. Bonus
languages can be chosen from the following: Elven, Gnome, Goblin,
Orc, and Sylvan.

Weapon Aptitude (Ex) Tabaxis have an instinctive love
of weaponry of all kinds, and an innate knack for quickly
learning to employ them skillfully. This grants them
proficiency with all simple, martial, and exotic weapons.

This campaign will be a sandbox setting and I am very free form, I don't mind using races other then humans and if you choose to do more Monster races I can change the beginning of the campaign to suit. As I stated before I love free form.

Ask whatever questions are on your mind as I am sure I haven't covered every base and this will help me get the feel of those I am dealing with.

This recruitment thread will be up for 2 weeks so that I can get a solid group of players before beginning. Thank you and fire away!

Iron Kingdoms on the brain?

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Actually rather fascinating, I'm definitely interested.Any idea which kingdom you're setting things in and is there a theme we should be creating characters around or a certain backstory we should have in mond?

Thinking a Magus from Quin

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 3) = 14 (13)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 1) = 13 (12)
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 4) = 18 (15)
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 5) = 18 (15)
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 (17)
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 (14)

This looks interesting.

1d6 ⇒ 1 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 3 1d6 ⇒ 5 =14
1d6 ⇒ 2 1d6 ⇒ 4 1d6 ⇒ 1 1d6 ⇒ 1 = 7
1d6 ⇒ 4 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 4 1d6 ⇒ 5 = 15
1d6 ⇒ 5 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 1 = 17
1d6 ⇒ 5 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 4 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 14
1d6 ⇒ 5 1d6 ⇒ 2 1d6 ⇒ 6 1d6 ⇒ 1 = 13

Wow!

I've been wanting to play a Kensai for a while, but am also thinking of gunslinger for this one.

What is the level of firearms in this campaign.

Edit: Look at that. I'll write up a gunslinger then.

Also, are traits being used?

Initial build plan:
17 15 14 14 13 7

4th lvl Gunslinger

Str 14
Dex 17
Con 14
Int 13
Wis 15
Cha 7

5 feats Rapid Reload, dodge, mobility, Point-blank shot, shot on the run

24 skills

Yes, he is John McClane

Scarab Sages

Tagging for interest - is this a PbP game or will it be over skype/maptools/ect.?

Also, what day(s) are you planning on running? First time using the forum roller, so hopefully everything comes out correctly.

4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 4) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 4) = 14
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Quite interested... how do you feel about goblins...?

4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 3) = 15
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

I wasn't sure if the 7 rolls worked with the 1d3+15 rule, if not the 4d6 roll would be dropped. Also, three 18s, I *should* be a goblin to balance it out :D

EDIT: Tentative plans for an armored goblin ring-chucker

Rumple Swiftring

STR 18 (17) (-2 racial, +1 level)
DEX 18 (22) (+4 racial)

Feats:

Hmmm... thinking I might throw up a monk build

I am thinking of a human cavalier(musketeer) from Cygnus

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 (16)
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 (15)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 1) = 12 (11)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 4) = 13 (11)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 4) = 14 (11)
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 3) = 11 (9) --> dropped as lowest
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 3) = 14 (12)

So stats: 16,15,12,11,11,11

Well here's my assassin. His background isn't done but suffice to say it will be interesting. As you already know Coreue. Cyra's will be up ASAP as well.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 6) = 19 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 5) = 19 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 6) = 22 18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 6) = 23 18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 3) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 5) = 15 14

wow... I got a good set of stats out of it... not sure what to make of it... but I will work on it and post up a concept soon

Dark Archive

4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 4) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 4) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 6) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 1) = 9

I really wanted to play Catfolk paladin, but with these stats, I've got no inspiration.

Edit: I've just realized that I've rolled six times instead of seven. Trying again, if that's OK.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 3) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 4) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 4) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 4) = 21
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 5) = 13

So that's 11, 13, 16, 10, 13, 8 the first time and 10, 12, 13, 10, 17, 12 the second time. Hmmm... Is the Spell-less Ranger from Open Design permitted?

And can I try rolling a third time, for that paladin? I'm gonna use alternative rolling method for that one:

4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 4) = 17
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

So, depending on your decision about these rolls, I'd like to try either human spell-less ranger of catfolk paladin.

Ah yes IK was my favorite setting before finding Pathfinder, I still enjoy that style of steampunk though. Mind you the party I was in didn't have a warjack or anything but we did enjoy some interesting mechanical weapons. :)

Oops, thanks nightflier for pointing that out. Here goes roll number 7.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 3) = 15 = 13

And that takes care of that 7 Cha!

I'll be posting my character in my profile as I build him.

Dark Archive

I forgot, are Warforged allowed? And can I create more than one character proposal? I have several ideas fighting for my attention. :)

Since I already know the answers to a couple of the questions I'll answer for Coreue.
Two traits or one feat.

Missed the 7th attribute score.

4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3) = 12

Not that it mattered.

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

[1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

And the gods stepped foreward and said 'THOU SHALL ROLL AWESOME!'.
Wow!

Y'know, with these I should probably be offering a Paladin or something but I have been dying to get Kenji, my Arcane Blooded Save or Daze sorcerer into a game.

Here he is at level 1 with a 20 point buy.
I'll make his scores

Str 10
Dex 18 (16+2)
Con 12
Int 17
Wis 8
Cha 20 (18+2)

I'll have to make a 4th level version for you to look at.

Star Voter 2013

Woot! Looks Awesome! Arcanum is one of my fav Computer RPGs of all time!

I'll wait until Mark Thomas' question before I decide for sure on race and class (but I have always been curious about playing a gunslinger)

In the meantime, I'll see what the dice summon...

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 6) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 3) = 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 1) = 11

So, that should work out to 18, 16, 14,13,12,10 not bad, not bad at all! Lots of options with those rolls. So just waiting to hear more scoop on what we'll be up to and where we'll be starting out doing it.

Also, is there anything in particular going on in the world, nation-wise, atm other than the war between Cygnus and Cryx?

@Kenji: Yup, nice rolls mate, and actually, you still have one more roll to try! Then drop the lowest. Good luck! (Not that you need it ; )

@Leon: Hey yo bro! This should be Fun, eh!

Khaladon wrote:

Yes it should.

Star Voter 2013

Yup! Definitely going with the gunslinger. May throw an archtype or two in there as well.

Question: Full GP for class level?

Kaladon:

Correct full gp for class level.

Jehova:

Also I have nothing against goblins. Just as I stated before there arent very many of them left in the world and if you choose to be from anywhere near the Imperium you may be a slave or in hiding as the Imperium is quite clear on their view of non-humans.

Nightflier:

Sorry no warforge. :( and I don't mind if you post different concepts but please stick with one set of stats per concept. Since everyone else has been thus far. ;)

Magicdealer:

I would prefer to keep it at least 1+ posts per day, with a 24 hour window for response time before I continue with the story. Weekends are where my posting will be very sporadic to none at all.

Leon Cross/Havoc:

Looks good so far I am on my phone so not enough time to look it over. Also thank you for the reminder.

Leon is correct that if you surrender your traits you can gain an additional feat in exchange. The choice is yours. ;)

What about Spell-less Ranger? Is it allowed? It's from Kobold Quarterly 11.

It's a fun class. If you don't have that issue, here is a link to the spell-less ranger I'm playing if you want to see an example of one.

Ahh, skipped the last.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 5) = 10

Well I guess I couldn't have gotten much better anyway.

So IF PICKED, i'll run with
Str 10 Dex 18 (16+2) Con 12 Int 17 Wis 9 Cha 20 (18+2)

Sovereign Court

4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 6) = 17 = 16

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Str 18 + 2 = 20
Dex 16
Con 16
Int 15
Wis 12
Cha 18 + 2 = 20

Hmmm... Those are some good rolls :-)

Currently leaning towards a LN (Human) Oracle of Metal :-)

Hmmm.... interesting..... I have a couple of concepts, so let me try this roll:

4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 4) = 18
1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17

Interesting. :) Now to see what fits best....

I'm thinking Za'ris, a Half-elf Rogue (Swashbuckler). Raised in the Imperium but fled to avoid an inquisitioner who discovered his demi-human nature. His mother was killed, and his human sister sold into service of a traveling caravan because of their association with Za'Ris. He is wandering trying to find her and also get up the skill and courage to go back and eliminate those who killed his mother.

Currently Political relations are tense between The Imperium, The Free Cities and The Holy Land of Lyonesse.

The Imperium is beset by an anarchist movement that is attempting to undermine the Inquisitorium's power and throw the land into a full blown civil war. This movement is believed to be led by Free City soldiers working alongside Religious fanatics from Lyonesse. Aside from these fanatics the Imperium is suffering from widespread droughts and the ever present signs of famine in its fringe villages.

The Free Cities are a collection of large cities and close knit communities that have united to remain free from the major kingdoms. In recent years they have united there forces more then once to repel Imperium soldiers and Inquisition spies from undermining they're treaties. The Free Cities are gearing up for possible border conflicts with the Imperium because of the external strife being caused by the Anarchist's outside of their realm. The Free Cities continue to vehemently deny the accusations being laid against them and have more then once been known to tear down the Imperium as war monger's.

The Free Cities though are in the same position as many of the other Kingdoms as lack of successful crops is causing food costs to sky rocket and markets to be completely wiped out. In recent weeks as a rise in undead activity have stirred the rumor that Cryx is turning its eye back on the mainland once more.

Lyonesse has ignored the accusations laid at their feet by the 'War Mongering' Imperium as they continue to address internal conflicts brought on by failing crops, famine and disease spreading through the holy land. In response the Holy Church has began erecting more alabaster obelisks in an attempt to widen the protection the goddess already blesses them with. It is the first time since the fall of the Bright empire that the church has erected such obelisks. The church has remained tight-lipped as to why they are suddenly erecting scores of these powerful monuments and sends away anyone who pushes for information too hard.

Cygnus is troubled... Its been almost a month without any activity from Cryx. No raids. No undead, nor Necrotech activity. Nothing at all. Cygnus has suffered just like the other kingdoms but has managed through their strong fishing fleets and magical means to create enough food stores for their populace. Long range patrols have started to go missing as well, adding to the dark mood that has fallen over the nation. In the interim they have been building up additional rounds of ammunition, weaponry and preparing their soldiers for the coming onslaught. Its only a matter of time.

The Empire of Qin remains strong despite the troubles afflicting the other kingdoms, high in their mountain kingdom they are more immune to failing crops and politics. They're crops, despite being simple in comparison to the Lower Kingdoms, we're quick to plant and even quicker to produce. Because of this the Empire is seeing a surplus in the treasury as the Lower Kingdoms Merchants buy whatever they chose to offer them.

The Benevolent Emperor has saw fit to give out ample supplies to these merchants, despite strong opposition from some of the houses. As his adviser's have explained time and time again that it was best to foster good relations to avoid war and conflict. Food distribution was among the easiest political tool in the Empires arsenal and the most readily available. Several houses, long time opponents of the current Emperor, are allying themselves and voicing their opinion quite loudly that the gates of their nations and the great wall be barred, while driving these foreigners from their land. The Empire has been dealing with this internal power struggle and the clans allied to the Emperor are gearing up for battle. Especially the strongest of the Samurai Clans, The Dragon Clan, are readying for battle against the houses they have named the Shadow Clans.

Tagging for interest - is this a PbP game or will it be over skype/maptools/ect.?

DOH! I missed that, damn my skimming!

This will be a PBP naturally, as I suck at using skype and unless I got a multitude of players in the same time zone it wouldn't work anyway. I don't mind using the PM system or personal emails for extra activities.

Yes the Tabaxi humanoid levels give 2x (2+Int Bonus) I is in the stats above but it does blur together. ;)

HP is max at first level and you can do an avg for each level to give yourself a better score, up to you. But once you start plan on sticking with it please. =)

Speaking of private messages check yours Coreue.

Scarab Sages

Ahh :P Pass for me then. Thanks though!

Sorry to lose you! Good luck and have fun in your next endeavors!

Cyra here. This is Aurora my assassin.

Corerue - here is the bare bones of my submission - stats rolled under my main board name of JAF0 up above. I will flesh out the details more as I finish up the character.

Liberty's Edge

What about the Godling class from SGG?

Are firearms still in the Early stage or are advanced firearms availible?

Stats:
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 6) = 16

Nice stats. Once I know about the Godling class I'll get a complete submission up. Current idea is that somewhere back in the family line one of his ancestors was 'blessed' by getting to have a child with/through Lyonesse. If Godling is out probably and undead hunter of some sort.

I'm gonna back out for now, but I plan to create a backup character if someone drops out. Is that OK? In the meantime, could you post more info on the gods of your setting and the role of Tabaxi in the world?

This is my idea for a cavalier of the Lion, with the musketeer and luring archetypes. A captain in the Cygnan air fleet.

Captain Reynard Stranton:
Reynard loved to hunt as a boy, his steady aim and solid bow bringing down game at great distances. When he was enlisted at the age of fifteen into the Arial Navy of Cygnus, his choice to keep such a primitive weapon drew odd looks from his fellow recruits his officers, but the efficiency with which he was able to disable the crews aboard enemy Blackships − at greater range than the more advanced firearms of the navy could maintain such accuracy − soon swept aside any objections.

The five years of Reynard’s minimum term passed quickly, during which time he gained a deep sense of companionship which his crewmates, and his exposure to the outside world served to instil in him a great love for his homeland that he had otherwise taken for granted. As such, his choice was simple; at the age of twenty he enrolled in the naval academy to become a commissioned officer.

After graduating, Reynard advanced quickly through the ranks, until eventually earning the rank of commander serving aboard the Tempest, under the then Commodore Darius Rembrach. Over the following years, the Tempest was responsible for several significant victories against Cryxian forces, the airship’s speed and well trained crew allowing them to arrive where most needed. These victories were soon noted, and the Commodore was recently raised into the admiralty in recognition of his accomplishments.

Reynard had expected this promotion to be accompanied by a captain reassigned to the Tempest, but instead he was surprised to be granted the post himself… Rear-Admiral Rembrach was to retain command of the Tempest as his flagship, but when his duties called him away from the ship, it would be captained by Reynard.

rolls:
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 6) = 19
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 6) = 13
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 3) = 10

STR 12, DEX 17+2, CON 12, INT 10, WIS 16, CHA 17+2.

edit: unless by using the epic rolls the stats need to be placed in order, in which case it would be:
STR 12, DEX 17+2, CON 17, INT 10, WIS 12, CHA 16+2.

Merrin's Background:
Merrin was part of an elite group of soldiers from The Imperium of Man. He grew up on a typical farm in an anonymous town. As the second son, he knew there was no inheritance for him, so he joined the Imperial Army as soon has he was of the age of majority. He worked hard as a soldier, and when it was time to be promoted to a non-commisioned officer, he decided to enroll in the Iron Brigade. While in the brigade, he was a part of dozens of sorties into enemy territories as well as clandestine missions. Usually, these ended just as violently as the actual coordinated attacks.

He had worked for a year in the brigade when the droughts started. He petitioned for leave help out his father's farm but was denied. A few months later, he received a letter stating that his older brother had died but was denied leave to attend the funeral. The command didn't even bother with a lame excuse as to why he was needed in his position. Just a simple stamp with the word DENIED.

He took to brooding and was derelict while he should have been on watch and was captured by Free City soldiers. He was held prisoner for several months, and grew to realize that these soldiers were no different than his own brother in arms. He came to the realization that they were all just fighting and dying so their "betters" could still enjoy their lives of privilege in comfort and excesses while the people suffered in drought and famine. He was finally broken and the Freemen decided that there was no need to keep him prisoner while the food stores and potable water supplies ran low. He would no longer be a threat.

Merrin took his leave of the prison camp and travelled straight to his home village, only to find it evacuated due to the famine and plague. He tried to find traces of his family, but it was futile. Now, a year later, he finds himself in (starting city) looking for work as a mercenary reluctantly using the only real skills he has: fighting.

Godling is fine. Advanced Firearms are available for military personnel, except for the Revolver and Rifle those are available to those in the public that can afford them. ;)

Just so people know.

For simplicity I am using the Golarion gods except for Lyonesse. The Imperium worships Abadar mostly and despite being the Holy Land of Lyonesse, the Holy kingdom is quite open to the ideal of allowing their citizens to freely worship whatever deity they please. So Cities in Lyonesse are dotted with several temples and small churches dedicated to one or more gods and goddesses.

The Blackguard of the Imperium is one Infamous group of Undead Fighters, The Silver Blades of Lyonesse, the Storm Lancers, Sword Knights and Minute Men of Cygnus are yet another. Qin has no dedicated forces for fighting undead specifically as they're soldiers and military tend to be smaller and more well rounded compared to the Lower Kingdoms

The Tabaxi are a race separate from the Old World in which most of you will be starting in. If I haven't previously stated, I will do so now, it may take some time to gather everyone together. We can always opt for the option of a joint task force (If a more Military aligned campaign) or the party being more or less freelance adventurers but the Tabaxi players will remain on their own for awhile. If this bothers anyone let me know. I tend to post several times a day, despite my 1+ times a day statement, and its my hope to keep things moving steadily.

Once we get past the recruitment stage we will see what everyone opt's for.

Lyonesse:
Lyoness is a young goddess in comparison to the many older ones the world has known for centuries, she also appeared around the same time as Cayden Cailean's rise. Her story is told in many ways but the most well known story was that she was once a well-known Hospitaller of the Triad, worshiping Iomedae, Sarenrae and Abadar, during a time of upheaval and war. She was known shortly before the bloody rise of the Bright Empire and its quest for complete dominance of the known world. There are many theories as to which side she fought for and many speculate that she served no one but the will of her god's. During those times though she went from village to village, curing the ills that beset the people and battling the horrors that terrorized the land while the nobles and their armies fought for dominance all around her.

She was a hero to the downtrodden and mended the weak in a time when no one cared. For her service though she gained a following, a vast army of followers who looked up to her and shared the same belief in her noble cause. That was when her cause broadened, she fought hard to reestablish a stable and fair law across the land where it had been cast down in the wake of war. She is historically known for bringing down more then one tyrant and meting out the peoples judgement upon them for the crimes they committed.

It wasn't long before her followers looked to her as a Saint in those dark times and because of her great deeds, and the love she inspired, she was granted powerful boons from the Triad. These boons made her even stronger and made her cause to mend the broken, uplift the weak and throw down the tyrant even more powerful. However many evils walked the land and the greatest among them was the Cryxian's who scoured the battlefields for corpses and tech in the wake of the war for dominance.

When she started to combat the Cryxians, driving them from the land wherever she found them, she attracted the baleful eye of their master, Lord Torak, and he sent one of his children to deal with this upstart mortal. Torak's children are as dreadful and ill-minded as their father, this dracolich scorched the earth in its search for Lyonesse. Delighting in the wanton destruction it caused along the coasts of where the kingdom of Lyonesse sits this day, the foul abomination abandoned its hunt shortly after arriving on the mainland and began wiping out town after town, devouring the innocent souls and increasing its strength instead. Lyonesse hastened to confront this undead monstrosity and free the souls it had devoured.

She failed though. By the time this battle had happened she was well past her prime, an old soldier and warrior of the church. Despite her age she fought valiantly and was eventually felled by the titanic beast, but it didn't savor its victory for long. For the Triad bestowed a final gift upon Lyonesse for her sacrifice. After the Dracolich devoured her soul it let loose a great scream of pain and rage that echoed across the land. Soon after though its cries were cut short as Lyonesse cut her way out of the creatures breast in a burst of holy light and power befitting her new status. Godhood. That was the final gift of the Triad, they had bestowed a part of their essence into the aged Saint. Raising her above her mortal self and allowing her to ascend to their ranks as an equal.

Sadly though this mean't she could not stay upon the mortal plane, she was forced to rise to the heavens and watch her followers from afar as they continued to carry her noble cause without her to lead them.

I will post more about what her portfolio and domains are in a bit, this is but a small excerpt. Sorry for any grammar errors. :P My wife says I type like a monkey sometimes. lol

Time thief will be interesting and I enjoy the challenge it will bring. :)
