So are we into COTC?

Radavel wrote:

I will send the first true CoCT posts tonight. Loose ends from the Fellstone-M Bright-mirror fiasco can be tied up as we begin CoCT.

Radavel: Reebs is giving Inigo a few days off, mostly so that he can figure out what to do with him. Your official reward from the prologue will come in a day or two game time.

Mittean: Is Heather still with us?

Done, despite having the post for Inigo eaten.

Rise and shine, everyone.

Mommy, I wanna stay in bed....

No you have to get up, put on your armour, and save the world.

SOrry guys, thunderstorms last night. Work today. I'll try to post tonight.

Radavel, you're too funny. Actually the church is about to divest itself of the vinegar franchise and invest in yeast. They heard its an expanding market.

Guys, Darthen will probably arrive on his next post. Still waiting to hear from mittean/Heather. I dropped a note in his campaign discussion thread over the weekend so he should be posting soon.

mittean: ready for Heather.

Spoiler:

The Vander household.

In your long ago youth, the Vander family was close to yours.

Pater familias: Dorman Vander. Merchant and philanthropist.
Daughters: Terre, 21 - serious, thoughtful. Marga (Maggie, the only blond), 20 very smart, optimistic, practical. Philamina (Philly), 19, athletic, ambitious, tomboy. Janetha (Jan), 16, looks younger, a silly fun-loving girl.

The family is very proper. Devoted to Erastil and Sarenrae. While prosperous enough, they never moved from their Northgate home to the Heights like most of the socially climbing families (including yours). You lost touch in recent years, although you have heard that Vander has had several business set-backs and may be close to ruin.

Their butler, Gorgy, is a loyal, but snobbish prig, grown ancient in service.

Radavel, I can't decide which would be funnier. If you're assuming the rest of the party reads the spoilers, or not.

I'd read the spoilers. ;D

I'm here. :)

Hey guys. I know I'm kind of rushing Zellara along, but a couple factors. First, I'm not sure how much text I can lift verbatim from the AP without IP concerns. Second, while that stuff would read in a few seconds in RL, it would take me (terrible typist) a long time to copy. Third, based on hard won experience playing with you guys, it will probably go faster if I roll some back and forth between NPCs and you into longer monologues from the NPCs, then let you ask pointed questions.

YOu know it may work out well for me later. I'll be able to write out the BBEG's entire rant and you won't be able to rudely interrupt him.... with an arrow in the gut.

Sorry about the last line in last night's post. I wrote it out a couple days ago and had to change it when Heather was late. Didn't proof read well enough.

I wouldn't worry too much about that particular problem. I lift sentences here and there in my games and then rewrite other parts but I doubt any Paizo folks are scouring their own boards reading the games looking for instances of DMs actually quoting their products in order to pounce. ;)

If Darvyl is sticking with us, should we get someone to play him proper instead of NPCing him? Maybe we can even check with Pat and see if he's interested in picking him up again.

I'd be happy to have Pat pick him back up. Otherwise, his days with the party are short-lived. I kept him around because he was the one PC who had a good independent hook to Lamm. Do you want to talk with Pat?

Wicht, thanks for the heads-up on your vacation. How do you want to me handle Jeorik while you're away?

Everyone: I will be vacationing from August 11-17th. I will definitely not have net access. Between preparing and post-vacation work please expect that I will not post from Aug 10th thru the 19th.

Does anyone else have upcoming vacation plans?

Hmm, good question. I have doctors appt. next Monday which will tell me if I need back surgery again. If so I will probably be out of it for a few weeks until I can sit up in bed to use the computer. There will be plenty of warning for you guys on that. In early Sept. I believe we are still planning on going to Disney World for a week or two. Of course that depends on what the doctor says.

You can run him and roll for him while I am gone. Before I go, depending on the situation, I'll try to foreshadow any likely choices if necessary.

TheOcho: Sorry to hear about your back. Best of luck with that.

At the risk of metagaming, I hope someone consents to Zellara's reading. I drew the spread about a month ago. Pretty much a natural draw, I just transposed two cards. (Maybe Carnival and the Beating) I think it does a lousy job of describing immediate events, but its vague enough to foreshadow the whole campaign.

The 3 for the Present were what really got me excited. New relationship. Strength in diversity. Attack from all sides. Perfect for a DnD parrty. Just goes to show that you can get out of fortune-telling what you want to hear, if you're determined enough.

good draw

Just a reminder. Feel free to have a nice PC chat if you wish. Maybe you can get a nice meal before heading over to Lamm's. I think most of you had no lunch prior to showing up. It's no fun dying on an empty stomach.

Any standard items you wish to buy are available, if say, you needed a bunch of polearms or something.

When I get back we really get going.

have a good time

I'm back. Did anyone get mittean's email and forward him the jpegs? Did anyone get the jpegs?

I got them.

mittean, before I left I sent out some jpegs of the exterior of Lamm's Lair, but didn't have your email. If you send one to me at kennerunderscoretimatyahoo.com I'll reply . Don't get too excited, they're from a very basic CAD package, but they'll give you an idea of how the place looks and is laid out.

Got it. I'll send them to you tonight when I get home.

Guys,
one feature of CoCT is "harrow points". They are like a limited use actioin point. I think they're kind of hokey but its a small plus for the PCs, so they're in.

Chapter 1, In Edge of Anarchy, each harrow point can be used in 3 ways:

1. Reroll any one roll. Must take result even if its worse.
2. Add 10' to your speed for 1 round.
3. Add +2 to any one dexterity modified roll.

Since they're kind of a meta-concept and expire at the end of the chapter, I'll give you this: there's about 6 major encounters in the chapter. There are also random encounters. Use them wisely.

How many did we get?

Wicht wrote:

DOH! 2.

Guys, I'll be out of touch Saturday through Monday. Just so you know.

And on that note. How do you all feel about posting frequency? In the prologue, it was like I was running 5 campaigns and I was having a little trouble keeping up. Since you're all together now, I've been trying to reduce my presence and hoping you would interact with each other more, but posting has been slow. Despite the reduced presence, I've been watching the boards and trying to react in a timely manner to questions or party actions.

Is everyone really busy? Should I be pushing a little more?

I'll defer to Inigo to lead the charge.

Thanks for replying Billzabub.
Guys, can you all check in?

Posting frequency has fallen way off, especially since my mid-August vacation. You've all been really patient with the prologue which I rather awkwardly blended into the beginning of the actual adventure. And I appreciate that, but this drop in posts has me wondering if you are all still psyched to play? If anyone wants to bow out, that's fine, but I'm hoping that everyone has just been really busy or had trouble getting on to post and still wants to play.

Osirion (Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3)

I'm still here and I try to make sure to post at least once a day in each of my PbP (that has been updated since my last post anyway) though frequently I have the opportunity for more. So I'm still game.

I am still here as well. I try not to post to much so others can get in some play time, but now that I think about it everyone might be doing the same. Let me read through this weekends posts if any and I will get my response up.

Radavel, I ran into PsiFOx on another thread. I've been wavering back and forth about adding another PbP and Patrick Murphy is starting a "Post-PCs don't save the Shackled City " campaign. That just looked too good to pass up. PsiFox is playing there. I almost resurrected Nik for that. Reminds me, I haven't looked in on Stilgar in a few weeks. Maybe tonight.

Me saw him too. Game me in also fade into black. Need another game. Seriously.

Maybe its you big guy. The bad guys see you coming and run away. End of stroy?

End story? Not even close. Ha ha ha :D

Grr, board monster stole my post.

Posting this week will be kind of sketchy for me as I am going on vacation for a week starting Saturday. I will attempt to post at night from the hotel, but that all depends on the type of internet access they have. I am kicking myself for not checking on that earlier now that I think about it. Please feel free to DMPC Darthen if needed.

Darthen has a soft spot for kids, but not if his life is on the line. He will slip his blade into one if the need is there. He might also do so for his compatriots, but as far as he knows this is just a one time group deal going on.

If there is in particular you need from me send me an email. It is listed in Darthen's profile.

Thanks for the update. That's you and Wicht out for a while. We can slow the posting pace a bit. Although another round may see the end of combat in this room.

Guys, Wicht and Radavel out until the weekend, TheOcho starting vacation Saturday and busy until then. What say we pick it up on Monday?

Silence gives consent.

O

Spoiler:
K

I need to take a timeout. Please NPC Keliwyn for me.

Thanks

I am back from vacation. We had a blast at Disney World. I believe we took over 1200 pictures over the 7 days we were there. Sometime this week I will get most of those posted on Facebook. The best parts of the whole week were:

1. Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba
2. Aerosmith, Rock n Roll Rollercoaster
3. The two firework displays we watched
- Illuminations
- Wishes
4. Expedition Everest
5. Typhoon Lagoon waterpark
6. The rest of the park.

Please give me a few days to get back into my daily routine. I had over 160 personal email and over 2000 work related messages to go through. Not to mention the 1000+ messages in my RSS feeds.

Whew!

Just checking to let you know I'm still out there & hope to be caught up in the next day or two.

Thanks, Billzabub.

Sounds like you had a great vacation.

Take your time. I've almost got Darthen to the point of no return. MWahahaha! Seriuosly no worries. Wicht and Radavel have been sorting out the aftermath of the first combat. Still no sign of Lamm. After your first IC post, I'll hand Darthen back to you along with some extra info in a spoiler.

French Wolf is taking a week off in his game so that one will be slow too.

Guys, I'll be out of touch for the weekend starting Friday afternoon. See you Tuesday.

I'm in the process of catching up. Please stay tuned.
