Temporarily? How come. we have beautiful sunshine and a forecast of another storm to the island. Weather is a bit surreal here at the moment.

Temporarily because the snow keeps coming. Two nights ago I shoveled the tops off of the banks so that we could see to get out of the driveway.
And then yesterday, although the storm turned south and we only got an inch or so, the plows widened the cleared road, piling the snowbanks deeper. So I had to take the tops off the banks again.
It's not a lot of snow to move, but I can't throw it standing in place anymore. I've got to trudge each shovelful 20-40 feet so that I can throw it into the shallow gully between my house and the neighbor's. My front yard is full 6' deep.
At least it's been cold enough that the snow is light. Snow forecast is small quantities through this weekend along with warmer temperatures. I only hope that it doesn't mix with rain. We'll see more roof collapses if it does.
Sounds like you have our share too. We've had a couple of hailstorms and the odd flurry. But that's part of living on an island here.

First I want to apologize for the sporadic timing of my posts the last few months and my absence this last week.
Work has been an ever-present challenge and things in my life are changing. My wife has taken a full-time job with a 40 minute one-way commute. While having her working again will ease some of the financial strain we've been under, this change means that I will be picking up a lot of domestic duties, especially the dog walks and cooking.
(Dog walks are a major commitment, the main walk being about 1.5 hours per day. It is the price we pay for intact upholstery
, furniture legs, etc. And truth be told I do enjoy getting into the woods with the dog.)
Cutting to the chase, I think I must bow out of this game. DMing takes a lot of time for me. I'm not as rules-wise as most DMs so I spend a lot of time looking things up. The slow pace inherent to PbP means that I lose track of story line, and so I spend a lot of time looking things up. I feel that I no longer have this time to spare.
I feel especially bad because we've just added pinvendor and Mahorfeus to the mix and haven't even integrated them into the game. Even Treppa and DSX are fairly new.
It's been very enjoyable playing with you all. Thanks for playing with me. I hope that you all have good gaming and success in real life.

Very sorry to hear that TT, you've been excellent running the game & made it really enjoyable and fun. Rules-wise, I thought you did an excellent job & that you were as knowledgeable about them as any I've played with. If you do want to pick it back up, I'll be around and happy to continue.

While I didn't get a chance to play with the rest of the group, I must say the private RP with Mahorfeus and you was fun and promising.
I am sad that such a diehard PbP thread is finally ending. Your first post was back in 2008! I have personally never been part of a game with that much staying power, and though I know your player base has turned over, at least you were staying the course all these years, therealthom.
Bravo, sir! Well, done. Even if this is the end, you deserve recognition for this mighty feat. I hope we do get a chance to play again some time even if you are just a fellow player in another game.
It's definitely a shame that everything didn't come together, but we all know how real life can hit us. I hope things look up for you in the future!
And of course, I would totally be up to playing in a game with you somewhere down the road.
