Hack fortuned. Skane pinned. Bless buff is on.

Siral edges closer to the doorway, continuing her chants of fortune upon Hack while cursing the bandit leader with another. Hack fortuned, bandit leader misfortuned.

Betony and her mount maneuvers to the right whilst surrounded, Thistledown clearly taking his bite to the detriment of Betony's aim. Thistledown clamps down hard on the leader's calf before bringing him and Skane toppling to the floor.
[ooc]Leader tripped and prone and grappled. Skane prone and pinned.

Bandits 1, 4 and 5 encircle the Brambleknight and attacks simultaneously. Distracted by the multitude of blows, a blade strike lands upon Betony but is deflected by her ancient armor.

GM:

With Skane in an embrace with the leader on the floor, the remaining bandits take a chance each, jabbing at the pinned Northman. Stripped of advantage, Skane finds himself stabbed repeatedly in the back. Skane takes 3 and 5 damage.

Feeling his foe's blood on his hands, the bandit leader maintains his embrace, while continuing his close-in brawl. However the slick blood gives an opportunity for Skane to wriggle free away from the pin. The bandit leader stands up in a rage.
Skane prone. AoO from Betony and Thistledown for leader.

@GM Randall: Got a look at the map. Please slide me five feet to G17 so that I can indeed attack the leader on Skane.

I'll run Betony's AoO on the bandit leader who chose to stand up.

Betony twists Razorleaf in time to nick the bandit leader as he rises who reflexively dodges Thistledown's lunge at the same time.
Betony deals 3 damage to bandit leader.

DM:

Hack wades in the middle of the melee, hewing his greataxe to cleave the bandit leader to the ground, completing the work of the Brambleknight.
Bandit leader dying.

Skane almost invites the bandits on to him as he pulls himself erect, bandit blades dancing on to him taking the advantage given eagerly. A lucky swordblade lances the wounded warrior in the gut, with a howl of glee as Bandit 3 pulls back his blood stained blade.
Skane as AoO magnet takes 9 damage from bandit 3.

DM:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 191d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Wesh moves to the door, engaging the nearer of the bandits, but the sight of Skane with a blade in his gut throws off his morningstar aim.

Siral continues his fortune enhancing chants whilst whispers a soothing monologue that eases Skane's laboured breathing.Hack's fortune is maintained, Skane stabilized.

Betony strikes down the bandit before her before Thistledown lunges and rips the man's throat out. Bandit 1 is out.

Krill withdraws to the corner and looses another arrow into the fray. He misjudges his shot and it strikes the table's edge.

GM:

A bandit moves to block Wesh's advance into the room and another edges closer to the fighting cleric. The rest fight on, seeing their only retreat blocked. vs B3 and B6

Fortuned Betony, fortuned Hack. Bless ongoing.

Betony and wolf brings down bandit 4 with a successful latch-on by Thistledown who shakes the man thoroughly, mangling his thigh, toppling him. Betony ends the man's suffering with a deft stroke of her axe.

The last bandit suddenly stiffens as Krill places an arrow in between the man's scapula. Gurgling, the bandit collapses.

Combat over, well done!

Whew - Lucky Skane was there to distract and run resistance for everyone ;)

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

Wesh says "Victory but Skane is hurt Let us move skane out of here and heal our wounds together then loot." Wesh moves out of the room with Skane and then channels energy when everyone injured is nearby. 1d6 ⇒ 1

Dragging out the unconscious form of Skane to the corridor outside, Wesh attempts to revive Skane but the Northerner barely stirs.

A cursory search of the battle spoils within by those within comes up with the armaments of the slain combatants, some trinkets recovered from the bodies and the rations the bandits have sustaining themselves with.

Krill stands near the fallen halfling, rummaging through the pockets and confiscates the heavy crossbow and cache of bolts.

Loot:
6 medium mundane longswords, loose coins amounting to 234gp, 639sp, 684cp, 7 silver rings of identical make, a medium mundane greataxe, a case of fine cider with 12 cork stopped bottles, rations for 14 days, 6 mundane longbows, a gold chain with fang pendant.

A large chest sits in the far corner, locked.

Bettony looks up from Skane's prone form to Wesh. "Got anything else left in ya. I don't think he felt that."

Betony Status 14/23 hp

Bettony goes back in to help move the dead away for disposal.

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

Wesh agrees "I think I need to do that again."

Wesh channels energy again. Chanel energy 1d6 ⇒ 2

Whether Wesh's further attempts manage to awaken the unconscious Skane remains to be seen. Within the slaughter room, Krill helps on with the disposal of bodies, lining them in a neat row before he approaches the solitary chest with a discoverer's intent.

Skane's at -4HP, so believe it'll be a DC14 Con check to become concious...

Barbarian Invulnerable Rager/4, HP: 55/55 (63/63), AC: 18, DR: 1, F: 7, R: 1, W: 1, Perc: +9, Init: +0

Jeez, Wesh...you cannot possibly roll another 1, can you?

1 person marked this as a favorite.
male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

I took the luck domain and look what it gave me.

Wesh's call for his deity's favour seem muted within the dark confines of the keep. The shielded warrior opens his eyes fighting against the cobwebs of unconsciousness and affirms the victory.

Krill starts to bend down and tinker with chest's lock, clicking of tools evident as tries to coax the lock to open.

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

Wesh says to Krill "Make sure it is not trapped first"

Krill gives a sigh and nods at the supine Skane.

Yep. I'll do that. Get that bearded bloke up and running and I'll keep working on this contraption.

Krill turns back to tinkering with the lock.

Shadow Lodge

Did you have a wand? Perhaps I could make better use of it?

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

Wesh will hand the wand to Siral and say "Here"

Shadow Lodge

Siral takes the wand from Wesh, looks it over carefully from end to end, and then with a flourish casts from it. izliječiti

Shadow Lodge

UGH! Let us try that one more time. Siral looks at Ralyip, You got a better way? Ralyip tilts his head and barks. Sounds good. I'll try it. Siral takes the wand, swooshes it over Skane in an exagerated flourish, Vindeca!

While the Northman stills looks battered and bloodied, he rises to his feet and for the first time in an age grins broadly;

"Har! Feel like I've wrestled Bjorn! That töfrasproti still has much work to do..."

Speakers o' Skald:
töfrasproti = magic wand

Shadow Lodge

Ha, ha. Good to have you back with us friend. Siral offers his hand to Skane, Perhaps we can coax a little more out of this wand?

Welcome back brother. I could use a shot of that wand as well, Siral.

He slaps Skane on the back.

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

Wesh asks "What should we do with our day now for waht remains of it."

Skane @ 11/20 that should suffice for now lol

The Northman accepts the thanks and heartfelt welcomes with a nod;

"Good question Prestur Wesh... Lick our wounds and count our coin nei?"
