Cephelo... before you go any further we need to straighten things up. you may have an entire meeting with Trey somewhere in there and who knows if that will effect what you already have done. since you are a half a day ahead of Trey time line wise.Trey will be at the Temple and since you were talking the main person she would be with at the Temple it would be impossible for you to not meet her.

Lantressa
The Gray Maiden seems surprised by both Lantressa's openness and her own. After a brief pause, she continues, as if reciting something from a book. "Cheliax and the thrice-damned House of Thrune teach us that devils and hellspawn deserve the greatest of respect."

"I am also busy - I never know when or how Queen Ileosa might call upon my services. But I would like to talk with you more. Perhaps you could stop by our barracks sometime. They are near Longacre Hall, not far from here. You may request to see me by asking for the Senior Sargent of the Second Squadron." The Gray Maiden writes down an address on the provided piece of paper.

Lantressa doesn't know of any specific contacts who could assist her in getting to Old Korvosa. The Varisian smugglers around the city might have small boats available for hire to cross the river, or perhaps she or one of the wizards of the Academae could cast some sort of spell to make sure she isn't detected while crossing the river.

You could also try a diplomacy check to gather information of who can help.

Academae
Dean Allesain explains "Old Korvosa is blockaded at the moment, by the Gray Maidens. They've burned most of the bridges crossing the river, except for the stone one at the eastern end of the city. I've heard that they are stationed on this side of the river, and shoot down anyone trying to leave Old Korvosa."

Temple of Sarenrae

Trey makes a good point that she would likely be at the Temple as she is one of the main priestesses there.

While at the Temple of Sarenrae, Cephelo notices another priestess in prayer. She is surrounded by a strange golden glow.

Trey notes an imposing man with coarse black hair talking with Sister Luba. When Trey makes her way over, Sister Luba introduces him. "Sister Trey, this is Cephalo. Sister, you remember Helena, the kind young girl who is always volunteering here, helping with the blood veil cure? Cephalo is her friend, and is looking for her."

Trey recalls Helena visiting the Temple frequently when the plague was at its worst. Not to pray, but to help any of the sick and to assist in manufacturing and bottling the cure.

When we are done here at the temple, we can continue at the tavern.

"Well met sister, I am looking for Lady Palino. Do you have any more information on her whereabouts? I'm afraid the child may have done something foolish."

His hand unconsciously combed back his hair as his mind churned through his next options.

Hey DM, I just realized that by letting Cephelo find Helena later in the tavern, you've taken away his main motive for going to Old Korvosa. We'll have to come up with something to make it 'believable'.

Excellent, I see a way I can connect with some of the others if you have no set idea on how to accomplish it medlii. I'll set it up and use it, or not, at your discretion.

*Before walking away:
Lantressa gives the grey maiden a smile and nod, taking the piece of paper, "I might just do that, thanks again for your assistance, and your conversation."

*After walking away:

Not sure whom to trust or speak to in specific, Lantressa heads to the taverns to pick up some information, and maybe some fun, while she figures out what to do. She ends up in one at the end of her searching coincidentally the same as Cephelo finds Helena at. She walks up to the bartender, "I would like a glass of Chellaxian Red good sir," she slides the coins over for her drink, "and maybe some information as well," and then slides a few more coins over.

Assuming that the man will answer some questions:
Lantressa leans in a bit closer but otherwise speaks in a normal voice, "I have a sick auntie and I need to go tend to her. Problem is, I can't get there from here. You don't by any chance know someone who could help, or who might be doing the same thing and willing to have some help with their problem would you?" As she speaks, if she sees that he wavers or becomes uncomfortable with the topic, she will slide a few more coins to keep his interest.

Trey Gives a curtsy to the man, Good day, I know the girl, but I am afraid I have not seen her recently. she came by frequently to help with the Blood Veil cure, she was very helpful indeed. I had hoped that she could assist me at some of the orphanages in the lower districts.

so, are you the girl's father, or guardian? If you wish I will contact some of my associates to assist you in your search.

Cephelo nodded, "Aye, she's good girl alright but sometimes too naive and people can take advantage of that. She also suffered a lot lately with the deaths in her family."

He smiled, "What am I to her?. He paused, "Officially, I'm just her horse trainer and riding instructor but her father relies on me to keep her safe. Don Julio has also been through a lot. I appreciate your help but all I need is to know where she might be."

He sighed, "I'll go to this Fainting Peacockt and hope to find here. Any other place or people she's been in contact with that I should be aware before I leave?"

Temple of Sarenrae
Trey and Cephelo
Sister Luba listens to the discussion between Trey and Cephelo with concern. "Ah, wise words, Cephelo. I will try not to give Helena any ideas and dissuade her from any dangerous paths. If I hear so much as a whisper from her, I will let you or her father know right away," she promises as Cephalo hurries off to the Fainting Peacock.

The Fainting Peacock
Lantressa
"Ah, you will enjoy this Egorian Valley Merlot, Miss, this vintage is crisp with ripe notes of berry." He pours Lantressa a glass, and leans forward over the bar to speak quietly with her while polishing a glass with a rag.

"Your timing couldn't be better. There's a half-elf at the table by the fireplace, by the name of Mr. B'Ru- he's sitting with the blonde girl, and the dwarf right now. You didn't hear it from me, but Mr. B'Ru's interested in something along those lines. In fact, he's been looking for others to go with him and some of his friends. I think the blonde also has a friend in a similar situation as your aunt." The bartender discreetly pockets Lantressa's coins. He looks as if he is considering saying more.

But before he can go on, the door of the Fainting Peacock slams open and a tall, dark-haired man strides, heading directly for the table with the half-elf,dwarf, and blonde girl. Following close behind the tall man is a woman dressed in the garb of a priestess of Sarenrae.

All - I assume everyone has gone on to the tavern by now and that Typhon and Yrsa ran into Helena. I'm also assuming that Trey followed Cephelo to the tavern, please let me know if you would have done otherwise.

The lady frowns as Typhon dismisses her help. But before she can protest, she catches sight of Cephelo, and her brow furrows in anger.

"You WILL NOT leave me out of this, Cephelo! This is important. My friend, Amin Jalento practices at the sword fighting school there. His parents say he was there when the quarantine was put up and hasn't come home yet. That was two weeks ago! Besides, all the people in Old Korvosa are dying from blood veil! " Her tone changes from anger to concern and frustration as she speaks.

Trey recognizes Helena Palino immediately from her numerous visits to the Temple. While she could be hasty and headstrong, her heart is always in the right place.

Cephelo:
Cephelo recalls Helena mentioning her friend, the young nobleman Amin Jalento, a few times and how he had become much more confident after he began taking classes at the fencing academy in Old Korvosa several months ago. She told the tale to her father, hoping to get a chance to train there as well, but Lord Palino told her she already had plenty of confidence.

Lantressa:
Lantressa knows of the Jalento family - it is an ill-kept secret that the Lord and Lady of this minor house are prejudiced, and they've raised their oldest son, Amin, to be lazy and soft by giving him every luxury and keeping him far away from anything that might remotely look like work.

Lantressa takes a sip of her drink, "My, this is delicious, I may need to try and get some of this, some of my clients would love it." As he delivers the information, she looks at him innocently, "Heard what from whom?" Laughing a moment, she then gets distracted as the new comers storm in and disrupt everything, missing the look that the man might have more to say. Seeing one of them is a priestess of Sarenrae. Lantressa can't help but make a comment under her breath in abyssal,

whispered in abyssal:
"Oh great, a priestess of Saren-stick-up-her-ass, just what I needed."
I may just have to deal with her, I think I will need their help to get across. Giving a resigned sigh. "Thank you good sir, a good vintage indeed, if you'll excuse me?"

She walks over towards the table she was pointed too, making sure her hood is pulled well forward and keeping her eyes mostly concealed within for now. When she gets there, she ignores the ones arguing and goes right to Mr. B'ru, "Excuse me Mr. B'ru? I understand we might have some common plans, and that you are looking for people who might be willing to go with you. As it so happens, I have a similar interest and would be willing to help with our mutual goal."

A long curved sword sits on the floor next to her, its handle propped up against he wall, still in easy reach. Sipping a clear liquid from a small glass, her grey eyes have been coolly watching the patrons of the Peacock, and she hasn't said a word since everyone arrived, only having given a sharp nod to Sister Trey.

You weren't lying about being able to find some 'mercenary detectives' fast, Typhon. Yrsa says smirking at him. Her glance subtley sweeps over Lantressa and Cephalo in an instant.

Lantressa:
Yrsa's eyes are honest, and inquiring. Like many people, she is rather struck by your appearance. But you don't get the impression that she is taken aback by your devlishness. in fact she appears... empathetic?

Cephalo:
Yrsa's eyes are experienced, and impressed. She appraises the long days spent in general toil, and respects the hardworking spirit. Your relationship with Helena visibly puts her at ease.

Yrsa nods to Typhon. My friends keep a nice, erm.. office.. with a lovely view of the river, even. I agree it'd be best to talk over our details there.

Trey tries to interject... Please, If I may say something, Turning to Helena,

Helena, You have a good heart, and there is much work to be done. I have lots of new responsibilities and I can't do all the things I used to do. A young boy, a charge of mine, named Toby will need someone to help him in this part of the city. you would be doing good for a lot of people. and you would still be safe. Your father could feel better knowing that you are in good hands.

Kneeling to see Helena eye to eye, what do you say, will you help me, and Toby? In return I promise I will see to the safety of your friend.

From past experience, some of you know that the more resistance Helena encounters into, the more stubborn and persistent she becomes. But after hearing Cephelo, Trey, and Typhon's reasoning, she begins to calm down and returns to her seat in the booth. Helena mulls over the offers, finally nodding. "I promise, I will stay out of Old Korvosa. I'll check in at the Temple and keep an eye on Toby."

She rises to leave, passing Trey extra vials of the blood veil cure and then adds "Be safe. All of you. Otherwise Toby and I will have to rescue you." She rises on her tip toes to kiss Cephelo on the cheek and quietly exits the tavern.

The other patrons of the Fainting Peacock go back to their drinks, though they glance occasionally at your table from time to time.

His mind going over ways to cross into Old Korvosa, I don't need these guys. I could just cross on the underside of the old stone bridge. Maybe they'll just slow me down...

Lantressa

Blushing at Her statement, Ty ducks his head and taking Lantressa's arm leads them out into the city.
" I am actually not too bad off these days, but you're right, we have mutual business to discuss."

Fishery

Ty seems distracted at first. Like he was waiting for someone else to arrive and lead the discussion.
Man I hope Bosch is ok.
" Hmmp. Well I don't really have a plan as such yet. I can lay out a couple of ideas tho...You mentioned a possible boat Cephelo? I have an eversmoking bottle, at night we could possibly use it to disguise a small boat if we're quiet. Breathing might be an issue however. I can fly over by myself if need, not sure how that really helps tho. Once there I have a few leads to track down. I trained at Orisini's academy for a little while, so yeah I know where it is."

He slumps down and thinks for a moment, brows knit in concentration.

" Look. I don't know you , either of you. But ...things in this city aren't quite what they seem. We have small proof and a large belief, that the queen is behind all the current problems. The poisoner of the King, wasn't who she blamed at all, and she murdered some poor sap who looked like the person they wanted. I believe she was behind the doctors who made the plague."
" The 'person' that we are looking for is the Seneschal, the guy that can name a replacement for the queen. Seems he went missing. Then all these Grey Maids showed up, loyal to the queen and only the queen. So helping us may be more trouble for you than its worth, but may also be the only way to save Korvosa."
"The Queens plans are bigger than what we've seen so far, no telling what exactly they are yet......"

Ty trails off realizing once again that he probably said more than he should have. And frustrated that he can't get the words out well enough to truly explain everything...
"There are a lot of things I hate about this city, like the Royalty and 75% of the Nobles. But I have a lot of friends here as well, and a lot of people that need help. Deep down I love this city, and need all the help I can find to save it and its people...."

Lantressa takes Trey's hand and as she does, Trey can feel just how sharp her nails are, likely sharp enough to do some serious damage if Lantressa wanted to badly enough. She nods her head in aknowledgement, "Lantressa Darksong Miss Merosa, mmm, that just slides off the tongue doesn't it. I rarely pay much attention to the goings on of churches, other than Desna's, but I did hear about your promotion, congratulations. I have to admit though, doesn't shaking hands with one such as me disturbed you, I am spawned from things that are as far from your goddess as it is possible to be?" She gets a mischevious grin on her face, "As for what I do, well, let's just save that for later, for someone such as your self, I might even give a discount for my service, call it a promotion gift," the tone in her voice gives a pretty good indication that it involves privacy and an optional bed. Lantressa finishes off with a throaty laugh.

At the hideout.
When she is shone into the hideout, Lantressa throws back her hood revealing her features completely, her long black hair is allowed to flow down her back in a thick fall to her waist, and a pair of short, flesh colored, horns can be seen at her brow. Her eyes are an obvious red glow now that she is not trying to conceal them. Her black dress is cut rather low, and when she sits and crosses her right leg over the left, the long slit in the side of the dresses skirt falls to the side, revealing the skin of her legs and barely covering enough to be appropriate. Her tail can now be seen as it slides around her left leg, a long, fairly thin tail the same color as her flesh with a spaded tip. If you couldn't tell before, this woman is most definitely not human.

As the discussions begin, Lantressa becomes involved, "I had heard rumors about the disease and the so called poisoner, and I already have issues with the Grey Maidens. Personally, I don't have the biggest problem with the nobility, at least the ones I have encountered, and I have never met any of the royals, of course, most of my income are from the nobility as they are the ones who can afford my services. As for my destination, I need to make my way to the House of Clouds, my auntie got word to me that several of her girls, friends of mine in fact, have gone missing, as well as many others in the community. There is also some new power there, someone calling himself simply the king, who is taking over Old Korvosa through violence and fear. Combine that with people acting like beasts in the streets and you can see why I don't wish to go alone into that. I will gladly help you with your tasks, if you will help me with mine, I won't leave those girls to whoever, or whatever, has taken them and I will go with or without you, but I have a better chance with you."

Lantressa thinks for a moment as everyone discusses strategies from getting across, "Do you know how many of us need to go across and whether there are any patrols in the air, or anything to stop us from just flying across? I am a sorceress and have access to magics to both fly and become invisible, I could use those to help get there, but if I have to put them on too many I will not have much left to aid us when we arrive. I would have done it already but I don't know what measures they may have against those methods in place, added to the violence and such over there has made me hesitant to just go on my own, I can only wreck a path through so many people before my magic is all spent, and I don't want to leave that kind of death and destruction behind me." Her tone becomes more melancholy, "I have seen enough of that to last a life time, and I don't want to see my new home be destroyed, I like it here."

Cephelo shifted uncomfortably in his chair as Lantressa revealed herself. It wasn't the sexy part of the woman that 'bothered' him. After all, not much surprised a hot-blooded young man growing up among sczarni women. No, it was her 'other-worldly' features that concerned him. Features that he recognized in himself. This was definitely something that he needed to talk to her about. Maybe even tell her that he knew a friend of a friend who...

Cephelo came back from his reverie as Lantressa talked about crossing...

He solemnly spoke, "This city has been good to me as well but more importantly, I just made a promise to a family that took me in and treated me like a son. Helena is like my little sister and I keep the promises I make."

Getting that out of the way, he concentrated on more practical matters, "I can also use magic to get across but can't take anyone with me. However, I know the Varisian fishermen on the east side and I seriously doubt that a little blockage has kept them from plying their trade. Their smuggling trade that is. Give me a few hours and I'm pretty sure that I can grease enough palms to get us all across. We'll probably disembark on the east side of the island; is that agreeable?

Yrsa returns to the room with a hissing kettle. She pours herself a glass of dwarvish coffee, and sets the pot on the table where four other small cups are illuminated by the candles. She sits upright in her chair. Her stony demeanor furrows, and you can tell she is carefully picking words.

Korvosa is important to all of us. We all have people we care about here. More lately for some of us, we have shed blood together. She raises her glass to Trey and Typhon. Each of you have good reasons for going to Old Korvosa. I have no doubts about your capabilities. I swear I will help find your lost friends, Ms. Lantressa. Cephalo, I swear I will help you find your ward's compatriot. This is an Oath I make. She takes a sip of her coffee. WE are going to Old Korvosa to find the Seneshal. He is a government official who is being held captive, and tortured. We hope to use his influence to stop this madness the Queen's crown has unleashed. I will fight beside you, and try to cease any injustice that is happening in the Old Town, if you will bleed beside me, and my friends, while we commit this.. she searches for an appropriate word. Escapade; this bloody secret mission like they all are these days of espionage and court killings. We must cherish those we are close to. Skol. Yrsa raises her mug in salute and drains her cup.

Now, for the crossing, I think it's best we take a boat, there are plenty around, and I doubt any guard patrolling the river is going to be too observant, otherwise I have few qualms sending a few Grey Maidens sinking to the sediment. I'll row. I have no other means of transport.
She laughs heartily.

The Fishery
The Fishery provides a private place to make your plans. Bent over a map of the city, you flesh out your strategy while snacking on the meats and cheeses that Typhon purchased. The spacious, clean building seems to be a combination home and work area for Typhon, Yrsa, and occasionally Trey and a few other individuals. The river gurgles just outside - a portion of the Fishery is built over the river on stilts, and a pier juts out as a good vantage point for fishing.

Lantressa:

From her visit to the Jeggare River, aside from the crossbows each Gray Maiden carried, Lantressa does not recall seeing any particular defenses against anyone attempting to cross by air.

Trey, Typhon, Yrsa:

You have not seen Tessa, or her pet pseudodragon, Majenko, for a few days. Normally, this isn't very concerning as she tended to wander off to visit friends, window shop, or whatever odd things a gnome happened to do in her spare time. But with tales of Gray Maidens arresting dissenters and rumors of people disappearing, you aren't so certain this time...

It is currently late afternoon. To be clear, you'd like to cross the river a few hours before dawn?

Trey or Ty, anything else?

Trail's End
Cephelo is going to Trail's End to look for a boat to cross the river. Anyone else joining in?

The sun is beginning to set as you find yourself in Trail's End. Burly Varisian fishermen row their boats to the docks and haul out the day's catch. Others haggle with fishmongers and merchants to trade silver for their fish. The small, cramped houses, dirt in the streets, and groups of men standing about idly on street corners give the impression that this is a poor neighborhood. Yet the district is busy, and very few people that you see bears the telltale scars and pockmarks of blood veil.

Cephelo knows of two men who might be able to help - a fisherman who he frequently traded with named Denis, and a smuggler who goes by the name Stan.

RP, diplomacy, or knowledge local rolls to find a boat and/ or information. I'm also open to suggestions if you have other applicable skills.

Others feel free to join and add your RPing as well

The young man took to the night almost as well as he rode horses. Making very little noise for a man his size, Cephelo made his way to the river shore. Walking like he knew where he was going was a sure way to not get stopped. The only challenge to his passing were a couple of young men, well into their drinks to have any common sense left. But one good look at Cephelo's size and his unspoken threat of violence was enough to let him pass. Soon, he was in front of shack, stones kept the light metal roof from flying off during any sort of strong winds. Cephelo shook his head, If only he would stop with the bottle

Without further need to be quiet, he clapped his hands, "Yo Denis? It's me..." He shook his head and smiled, "it's me... horseboy."

An oil lamp was lit within and throaty voice answered back, "Horseboy? Really?"

"Yes, it's me, old man. Now come out, I got some money for you."

"But I ain't got no fish..."
"Does it look like I come for fish at this time. Now get out here before I blow your shack down. I need to rent your boat, just a day or two and I'll give you enough money so you can lay back and relax while you wait."

Money traded hands, heads nodded, and Cephelo rented a six-man rowboat to cross the river.

Is this Ok for the RP option? Do I need to roll anything?

While Cephelo is out garnering a boat, Ty ransacks the Fishery for any equipment that may help their endeavor.
Grabbing the stuff Corwin sent and any stuff Tessa may have left in her lab/ room.
He then dons the feather cloak over his normal pack, then grabs the extra one with his helm.
He then sends one of the boys to fetch Tiora and her carriage to take the group to Trails End.
" Heya T. You said any fare thrown yer way would help. Here's a good fare if you make it quite and as unnoticeable as possible. In fact could we get a wagon instead of the carriage for this one? Anyways, I gave a Plat and some Gold in it for ya."

The Fishery
Tiora shows up later that evening as requested, her normally polished black carriage and well-groomed black horses nowhere in sight. Instead, she is driving a shabby covered wagon drawn by two ordinary-looking chestnut brown horses that would look at home on any farm. "G'd evenin, Ty. Much 'ppreciated. Hope this is alright. Lots of farmers and such folks head back home out the Northgate bridge this time o' day." The thin, wiry driver helps everyone up the step and into the wagon bed. She looks curiously at Lantressa, but does not say anything.

The journey through Korvosa is largely uneventful, until you reach the Northgate Bridge, where a line of people wait to cross. A trio of Gray Maidens ask each group their business. "Jes headin home for the evenin," Tiora lies when your wagon reaches the front of the line.

On the other side of the bridge, you hear the sound of an ox mooing, followed by shouting. The Gray Maiden waves Tiora on without so much as glancing inside the wagon, distracted by whatever is happening. As you reach the other end, you see a cart driven by an ox halted on the bridge. It is now holding up the line of people waiting to get into Korvosa before nightfall. The Gray Maiden guarding that end of the bridge is shouting at the merchant driving the cart "Get moving or I will move it for you!" The flustered merchant is urging the ox onward, but it won't budge.

Tiora keeps driving through, keeping her eyes straight ahead and not glancing back at you. A short ride later, she drops you off in Trail's End. "Will ya need a ride back? I can stay a bit if y'like."

That's good, Cephelo, no rolls needed if you are paying. I'm completely fine with people making up NPCs or details about them, especially when they tie in with your background or previous things you have done.

Denis pockets Cephelo's coins quickly, as if he is afraid they might disappear or Cephelo might take them back, before adding sullenly "Good, wasn't much fishing to be had. They come by in that ship every few hours, hassling us if we get too close to Old Korvosa." In the next breath, as if he hadn't just bemoaned the current fishing situation, he looks at Cephelo suspiciously. "You bring that thing back, you hear? That little boat is my life! If anything happens to it, I'll have Old Maleva put a curse on you!"

As he expected, Cephelo finds the aged rowboat behind Denis' shack, complete with several sets of oars, nets, ropes, and a rank fishy odor.

Cephelo concentrated on putting the oars in the water with as little noise as possible. He then contracted his body and pulled on the oars with a mighty heave. Since he was taking his time to dip the oars back in, the ride wasn't a smooth one but in a couple of minutes, they were across.

The moon was still out as he pulled the boat up the stony beach. He put it near other similar looking fishing vessels, hoping it would still be here when they needed to cross back. He then flexed his shoulders to work the kinks out of his muscles and looked at the group. "OK, as promised. Safe and sound in Old Korvosa. Now, where to?

She can tell us more about what is going on in Old Korvosa than most, and we should find safety there long enough to make better plans." Looking around once more, "It should be right over there." She points towards a section of docks not too far away.

Cephelo- If you wanted to retroactively buy something within reason, go for it. If anyone would like to buy anything or change their level 7 stats, those changes are fine until we get into combat.

Lantressa/ Everyone - Like Lantressa said, I'm assuming you are going straight across from Trail's End to near Eel's End (basically going due west from #10 on the map) since this would be the quickest way to get across

Cephelo and Yrsa launch the boat quietly. The water of the Jeggare laps softly at the shore in the darkness. The stars give off faint light to guide your journey. Eerie, uneven lights - likely from fires - flicker across the water from Old Korvosa. As you row discreetly across the channel, you occasionally hear distant shouting and screaming from the island.

You paddle to the docks at the western end of Old Korvosa. Here, wooden planks float in the water - the remnants of the fishing boats that used to anchor here. Under the cover of darkness, it seems that no one has noticed your presence. The streets here are deserted, but you occasionally make out loud outcries from the west.

I've marked the locations of interest on the Map of Korvosa - #7 is Eel's End, #8 is Vencarlo Orisini's home and fencing academy, and #20 is the Arkona Estate. You are just north of #7.

The cobbled streets are dark - none of the lamps are lit. You encounter only one person on your way to Eel's End. Despite the late hour, an old woman shambles along the edge of the street, carrying a tray and muttering under her breath. Upon noticing you, she smiles a mostly toothless smile and mumbles "Won't you buy some mushrooms? Help Old Mother Mifeg's dear sick children? I have some what are good eating and some good for making paints and dyes." Now that you are closer, you can see her tray does indeed hold various types of fungi and mushrooms.

Something wasn't quite right with this whole situation. He peered around, looking at rooftops, etc, anywhere from where thugs or worse could suddenly appear, his hand clenching and unclenching around the shaft of his axe.

He whispered to the dwarven woman just loud enough for her to hear, "Yrsa, keep your eyes open. I don't like this."

GM: Do you want me to roll perception, sense motive, etc. or will you take care of that?

You are welcome to roll whatever you think is appropriate for what your character would do. I'll roll it for now to save time.

"Oh yes, this conk mushroom right here make a rusty red paint. And meadow mushrooms are good for yellow dyes," Mother Mifeg points at a broad, brownish mushroom and then some white capped specimens as she mumbles the descriptions of the various fungi on her tray. "These here summer truffles and milk caps'll make some fine eatin."

As Trey verifies the authenticity of the mushrooms, you can just make out her muttering under her breath. "Jes a few more coppers an Mama can buy another blanket for ya, Johnny dear. An tomorra Mama'll cook some soup for everyone. Doesn't that sound nice? Now go back to sleep now, little one."

To Trey's surprise, Old Mother Mifeg identifies all of the mushrooms correctly. All of them are dried, and she does not have many remaining, which makes sense if she has been in Old Korvosa for the past several weeks.

Cephelo does not notice anything out of the ordinary. Far in the distance, he can hear shouting, as if a brawl had broken out several blocks away. From the south comes the sound of water gurgling at the banks of the river. Mifeg has dark bags under her eyes, as if she hasn't slept in several days. Her long, stringy hair and tatty clothes are unwashed.

Lantressa recalls having a new dress tailored when she first arrived in Korvosa. The tailor flagged down Mother Mifeg for some mushrooms to make the deep green dye Lantressa was looking for. Mifeg explained at that time that she had many good customers among the artists and artisans in the district - various painters, potters, weavers, and so forth. It takes a moment to connect the gaunt, unwashed Mother Mifeg as the same person she saw. She also remembers the old woman mentioning that she cared for six grandchildren. Lantressa does not remember her looking so unkempt, distraught, and distracted.

As she makes the connection between this tattered old woman and the lady she remembered from a couple of years ago, Lantressa smiles at her and greets her, "It has been a couple of years so you may not remember me Old Mother, but you provided the mushrooms for a green dye for my dress about two years ago. We talked for a while and you told me of some of the people who bought your mushrooms for various uses." As she speaks, she lowers her hood, "How are your grandkids? You were taking care of six I believe?"
