Craft Wondrous Item with Alchemist

Rules Questions

I know an Alchemist is not technically a spellcaster, but it does learn the spell formulas which are requirements for crafting alot of wondrous items. Can the Alchemiat get and use the Craft Wondrous items feat?

Nope.

Spoiler:
Alchemist: Is an alchemist a spellcaster for the purpose of crafting magic items other than potions?

As written, no, alchemists are not spellcasters, and therefore can't select feats such as Craft Wondrous Item.

The design team is aware that this creates some thematic problems with the idea of an alchemist creating golems and so on, and plan to examine this in the future.

Yup

An alchemist CAN take item creation feats, in any event. When an item calls for a spell prerequisite, the alchemist simply substitutes his extract of the same name. This does mean that, other than potions, there's a lot of specific items an alchemist won't qualify for, so it might be a good idea to max out your Spellcraft skill for all the requirements you'll be missing...

I know it's older and overruled. But I prefer JJ's answer.

I prefer it too, DonDuckie, but it's a house rule.

Meretrix, if your GM is a stickler for RAW, then expect to not be allowed to take 'em; if he's more lenient then you probably can.

Liberty's Edge

Get a spell like ability with a caster level equal to your character level and your problem is resolved.

Two posts up(link in my post - two(EDIT: dangit - three) posts up) JJ says it's RAW, they have a caster level for everything that measures caster level.

But it's not to start an argument, I allow crafting alchemists. (Have you seen the Alchemical Golem?)

I definitely saw the post (and from my perspective, it makes more sense), but if you take a look at the link that I posted, it's more recent than JJ's post and it's the official Paizo FAQ site; JJ does a great job of offering answers but in this case, official FAQ > JJ.

I allow alchemists to craft as well, but specifically by the rules it isn't allowed.

I know :(

But it's like being halfway through the second pizza, I just don't want to admit that I'm full and will feel sick if I finish it. Because in the past I have proven that I can eat two pizzas.
