Sorry everyone. Work turned into a s~&%storm. I don't anticipate being able to put any mental energy into a post today… maybe not tomorrow.
So sorry. I'll try to get back on-board as quickly as possible.
Thanks for letting us all know, but there's no need to apologise. I think many of us well understand the multiplicative relationship between work and small children when it comes to demands on our time. : )
This game continues only because you fine folk are all willing to consistently spend some of your precious free time playing along with me in telling this story. Participating in this game is a choice, not an obligation, and the fact that all of you do choose to spend your time that way both pleases and humbles me.
I can only hope that I can continue to meet your expectations as the adventure continues. : )

I laughed... the picture of the old priest in the room with a near naked man and your comment that he could do for Dragomir what science couldn't was hilarious.

Glad to hear it's going well. : )
On the topic of sleep and small children, I had a boss in my last job who, when told I was having trouble with my sleep with my first child, said "But you're earning money--your wife should be looking after the child all the time so you can sleep and come to work and be productive."
Yes, he was a chauvinist. : |
With our second, my wife and I split the duties for the first several weeks--she looked after the newbie (breastfeeding doesn't work well for the father), and I looked after the two-year-old.
Of course, I was lucky enough to get four weeks off work, and the government's paid parental leave scheme meant my wife got 18 weeks off without costing her employer a cent, so that helped.

Sounds like a wanker more worried about his own timelines and KPI's to me.

Apologies all. As it seems like we're all commiserating about work, I'll throw my hat into the ring. Hit a week-long crunch period at the end of a big project and it's all I can do to come home at night and fall into bed. I may post a retroactive banter-with-Grimburrow post tomorrow if possible.

I guess that assumes this Jominda doens't have anything to contribute. :/
You're right there. At least at the moment. ; )
Fast forwarding is fine with me. I'm cool with rp'ing stuff like this, but at the end of the day, chatting up npc's that don't really impact the plot in meaningful ways seems a little silly, especially when we could be chatting up an npc who has something to contribute. :)
Thanks Karrik, this is a timely reminder to me that everyone enjoys things differently; chatting to NPCs that are only tangentially (if at all) related to the plot is one of my favourite parts of roleplaying, but maybe that's not the case for everyone; so if I'm just sitting here indulging my own enjoyment but the rest of you are starting to wonder when something is going to happen, I will speed things up a bit.
So is anyone bored? Be honest, I can deal with the criticism just fine--plus I won't know how to improve if you don't tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Let me know! Ta. : )

I sorted needed the spot light for a little for some class changing RP but as you can see I'm back up for fun and games in Harrowstone if need be but I'd like a day or two in Ravengro before we head back in - rest, regain spells, get more holy water and sell what loot we found.
There is SOME investigative/meaningful NPC engagement here with Lem and the painting. We damn well saw the wardens wifes ghost so it must be important.(fingers crossed)
That said, I too am ok to let others have the stage and just wait things out at times.
I think our pace was fantastically fast for the games first month, work etc as well as family (as you found out) have hit and bit hard at the pace of late. I am hoping we can regain the momentum... that way these NPC things don't seem to go so slow.

For my part I feel a little bad going off by myself and kind of slowing things down with the split timeline and everything. Sorry about that :-/
Also, I'm talking to Jorfa after the others have already visited her, right? We should pull a "Frequency"--Walter, hide something in the forge so it will appear in my timeline! Hehe.

I've been trying to find something for each of you to do while we're in this interstitial period--but if you'd prefer to run these things in the background I'm okay with that. I spend too long building shop inventories as it is. ; )
Still, I think once Lem indicates he's happy with Jorfa's explanation of the character of Mrs. Hawkran; and after Walter, Theron and Rose have made their purchases, we can move on.
There are two more events slated to happen between now and when the plot train leaves the station again, and those are:
I am happy running either of those in abstract--in other words, out of character--if you prefer. Then afterwards I get to put on my evil GM hat again. : D
Let me know if you would prefer to speed through either of those.

I'm not bored either, and I enjoy the npc interaction. Honestly, part of the reason why I wanted to join a PBP game was so I could get more role-playing practice, hah.
At this point, if anyone is 'fast forwarding' thorough some npc interaction, I think it is because we don't want to slow things down too much when the game's pace has already slowed by RL events. ;)

Sorry for not posting recently, this work trip has been taking up quite abit more free time than I thought it would. I'm expected to eat with my fellow co-workers almost every night, so the day goes pretty late.
Also I don't specifically recall stating where Rose was reincarnated, but Varisia works as well as any other.

Sounds like visiting Japan--my dad spent a lot of time there in his previous job. I'm sure helaman can enlighten us as to whether it's still the same: dinner out with the company folks every night until late. : )
I will power through the remaining interactions in the forge, then we'll get onto dinner. : )

Want to know what the heck just happened? Well, I've been planning this little escapade for weeks, so I rolled you all some Will saves--just not here on the board. Lem, Raj, Rose and Karrik all failed, while the others passed.
That's the fundamental difference.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'll warn you if my response would spoil something. : )

I didn't want to say it but its named after his Father... you're the Step-Father... it got wierd there for a while when Kendra was pregnant but you decided to step up rather than let her have the sprog out of marriage, sentimental and clueless sap that you are.
Ravengro's genetic population was forever altered by his visit, with 17 of the towns females falling pregnant during his stay. It was all down to that gawky innocent act that he pulled and the whole 'I see dead people' pity story he'd roll out.
Walter? You da' MAN!.

The creepy part is, most of the women who bore his children never even met Walter... ; )
No need to keep battering the door; you've made it into the room fine--the poor door is probably now at -20 hit points or something. I have some work to do this afternoon, but will try to get a post up in another 3-4 hours or so. We'll see how it goes. : )
If anyone wants to add some flavour to their next post(s) while they wait, Kendra is alone in her room--it's obvious she's just had a nightmare too.
