Unfortunately the Spriggan's enlargement is a supernatural ability and works differently than the standard enlarge person... it actually specifies that the weapons don't shrink back until they are out of his hands for 1 full round. I wrote the crossbow as shrinking instantly, but that was my mistake. Good news is that every time he drops it and has to pick it back up, those threatening will get an AOO. Odo, you get an AOO on him for Round 2.

Ah, no worries, then. Maybe we'll have some good luck with him failing a few consecutive rolls.

Pan should have gotten an AOO as well, I just neglected to call attention to it and after the Spriggan stepped back and Odo stepped forward, I got confused on whether Pan was threatening or not. It matters little now as you'll see when I'm done with the combat post.

Female Human Pathfinder Society GM Thistletop Combat Map

Odo takes advantage of the creature leaving itself open to attack, and with Pan's aid, his strike is true. The Spriggan's wounds are fast becoming serious.

Marco returns Wei Ji to his usual size as Frost moves in, swinging at the Spriggan, but missing her mark. As she enters his reach, he swings his morningstar, but loses his grip on it's greasy haft and drops it again.

Odo strikes yet again, smiting the creature in the name of Sarenrae and the Spriggan falls, soon returning to his original size.

Wei Ji takes the opportunity to heal the noble halfling paladin and feels a sting that brings to mind a pinprick or perhaps a bee-sting. Over his shoulder, the last Atomie has flashed back into view as she stabs the tengu with her tiny rapier. She places her tiny fist on her hip again, this time speaking in common.

"Hey! How you get big again? Poo! Bad birdies not play fair!"

Wei Ji takes a big 4 damage and Pan and Quinn get action refunds as the Spriggan is out of combat.

Sense Motive DC 15:
These Atomies do not seem too devoted to guarding the Briar Henge. In fact, they seem to view combat as a game and might be persuaded to set hostilities aside.

The Atomie smiles, clearly charmed by Wei Ji's praise of her martial ability. "I am good, huh! Lookit!" She carries her friend down from the hedge for waking up and sticks her tongue out at the unconscious Spriggan. "Don't wake him up, though. He's a little meanie, except when he's a big meanie! Ha ha! Just like those Twigjacks inside, they don't play nice either."

The diminutive fairy looks around, back toward the Hedge. She flutters some distance away and beckons you closer before she again speaks in a lowered voice. "Twigjacks are sneaky! Ok, seems Wei Ji is going in alone to scout with Bacchus flying above? Let me know if that is not the case.

This long, wide area is partially roofed by a sheet of woven bark. Under the bark sheet rest several casks, boxes, and simple pieces of furniture. Gourds dangle from the thorny walls as though hung on hooks. Three breaks in the bramble walls lead west, south, and east.

As the friendly Atomie reported, it appears the Briar Henge druids use this room for storage, relying on the woven bark to keep rain off their goods. The stores include dried food, spare bedding, a washbasin, and so forth. The gourds contain fresh drinking water. Wei Ji peruses the stored goods, and notices a large leaf folded around something like a wrapping. Inside, he finds a dozen small berries similar in appearance to blueberries, but shiny green in color.

While kind of thankful that he's being followed, Wei missed part of Marco's plan. At least for the moment, though, the path to the supply area seems secure, so the party should be able to move up to that location at least without drawing too much attention.

He'll point out the berries to Pan quietly.

He's going to keep his senses sharp while the empiricist takes a look, and hopes the rest of the party catches up. He doesn't want to get too far ahead, but he also doesn't want the flower to run out before the party engages...

I'd hope the party keeps up somewhat, otherwise Wei wasted the blossom if it isn't already.

Quinn will stay towards the rear of the group, relying on her ranged abilities.

Ok, so far we have 3 characters who have committed to entering, all using stealth. Frost, Odo, and Marco: Are you following at this time or waiting for a signal? I have given all the info on the current "room", so where to next?

Pan committed by following and rolling stealth ;)

Um, yes. Pan is one of the 3 I mentioned. Moved them on the map as well. Need to know what the rest are doing. =P

"Brave plan, Marco, but we should stick together the best we can. We do not want to be attacked from both sides if we can avoid it."

Odo gives the scouts to the left a head start before following. He attempts to stay about a corner or so behind them - able to react, but hopefully not close enough to give them away.

If people are are stealthing then Frost needs to hang back or the DC0 to hear her walking up is going to let the world know we are coming :) Best the sneakers just yell a lot and then Frost can move in - or we all go together :)

Marco follow along with those heading in. Probably second to last, then, if Quinn is bringing up the rear.

Ok, I've given it some thought and since the Twigjacks are listed as an optional encounter and you learned of them by befriending the Atomie, (plus the fact we are running long) I'm going to hand-wave that encounter so we can move on. For this to work, I'm going to rule that everyone is at least trying to move stealthily. Do you want to investigate what the Atomie called the "sleeping area" first or go straight to interrupting the druids?

My personal take on it is to interrupt the druids, because that would appear to be the mission and timer is ticking. Argument could be made for sleeping area, too, but from an out-of-the box perspective it presents a significant moral issue for the party if we encounter a bunch of sleeping druids -- ie, what recourse do we have to *keep* them sleeping without outright murdering them in their sleep?

Actually, it's not the middle, but I know what you mean anyway.

The sounds of Druidic chanting leads you onward, keeping to the edges as the Atomie advised. The path ahead opens onto a wide area on the east side of Briar Henge with a roughly circular shape. Four tall, thin spires of ancient stone thrust up from the ground at irregular intervals like malformed teeth. To the west, two thicker stones are capped with a third horizontal stone, forming a crude gateway. A thick piece of charred bark is suspended in this gateway by a web of crackling energy. The crackling energy pulses outward from the bark into the dolmen stones, and from there into the ground.

Four Druids of elven heritage circle around the stones, chanting their enigmatic ritual.

There's really no cure for it for the tengu. He's not going to be able to close the distance due to the meandering walls of the hedge, and having the drop on the opponent is less than helpful given the distance that has to be traveled to use it.

Still, that doesn't stop him from approaching with massive sword and board out, defensively preparing as he moves. He'll be a bit shy for melee, unfortunately.

Quinn sends her hawk in the air with a simple command, "Hunt..." The raptor's eyes narrow as he assumes his orbit above.
With that the huntress says a silent prayer and casts Guidance upon herself as she checks her arrow placement in her quiver and the reach of her shortswords on her back.
