Jeneva |
"The little beast fares well against the monstrosity, for certain," Jeneva observes appreciatively, moving up to interpose herself between the more fragile of her allies but behind the summon. "Whatever force answers your call is certainly not short of efficient servants." Blade drawn, she plants her stance, ready to receive the assault of the gargoyle if it manages to breach past the starspawn.
Ready action to attack the gargoyle if it moves into the doorway. No sense bleeding myself if the chuul can handle him =) But also keeping it off my allies.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Round 2
Ravens chokes down the liquid from Skiron as his beast buys some time for him to heal..
He draws a wand from his 'sack, using it close one of the more onerous gashes on his chest.

HP: 8+9+10= 27/75
Gr. Longstrider = 9 hours
Magic Vestment = 9 hours
Wand of CMW (49/50 left)
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Round 3
Ravens takes some time to heal after the onslaught, happy to let the chuul take the beating. He grumbles as he heals himself.
"Piddlespotting came outta..."
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6 healing
Round 4
"...barely uglier than Jen..."
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 1) + 3 = 11 healing

Skiron |
Skiron fishes out another of the little blue vials and administers it to Ravens.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Simon Demarkus |
After the gargoyle is dispatched Simon replaces his sword into the cane/sheath. He patiently waits for his companions to finish their healing, though he keeps a watchful eye out.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Ravens, finally healed, takes a breath and looks around again. He shakes his head, trying to clear out the memories of what just happened to him.
That sucked. But we must continue on.
He walks over to kick the gargoyle in the head a few times, then looks down the hallway from which it emerged.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 Perception
Simon Demarkus |
Detect magic on the collar and generally examine it closely. If it seems safe I'll remove the collar to inspect it further.
Percep 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (14) + 23 = 37
DMTFY |
Simon: As you cast Detect magic, your eyes are assaulted by a riot of color. Kind of like if someone pointed a 1000 watt halogen light in your face I should clarify this, The collar itself is not radiating magic that strong it is the Tomb itself.
Upon searching the collar, you find a secret compartment within the collar. The compartment contains a small roll of parchment Linguistics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22...success!
I have put the contents in a spoiler in the campaign info section
Simon Demarkus |
Simon rubs his eyes then withdraws and reads the paper.
"It says the hallway at the end is the way to go." He says as he hands off the paper to whomever wants it.

Ravens takes the note, reading it as he moves forward into the room. He offers to hand it off, but if no one takes it from is hands, he drops it on the ground. See!? He's totally evil! He litters! Thanks Obama!
Ravens moves into the room and looks around for whatever.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 Perception
"By the way, Skiron, thanks for the healing. I woulda killed that thing if he hadn't surprised me."
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Bluff
No, he wouldn't. The thing would have eaten his spleen and crapped on his face.

"Pardon? Oh yes, by all means, and be certain to tell me if the flesh around any of your asclepians* begins to generate mushrooms, not that that's likely to happen, but do tell me if it does."
His ragged starspawn trailing doggedly beside him, Skiron is presently more interested in taking in this new room.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
* = An "asclepian brand" is the name given to the distinctive temporary marks left by wounds that were healed by means of magic or alchemy. I figure a term like this is one of those things that would naturally pop up and be coined in a universe with magic.
Ta'ruk |
Ta'ruk wtakes the note from Ravens and glances at it. He rolls it up and tucks it in his bag. "It may help in some way in the future. I have a feeling all resources will be tight down here. You never know when you may need some parchment. Skiron send your creature ahead to trigger the traps."

"Please." Simon adds In a mildly corrective tone as he leans slightly on his cane wearing his immaculate suit.
Skiron |
"Oh, it's all quite dull in here, I assure you," Skiron says as he accompanies the chuul into the room. He stops in dead-center, however, while it checks the southeastern door.
I probe the room with detect secret doors.
Simon Demarkus |
Simon performs a thorough search going square by square. Making sure to check the floor first and not forgetting the ceiling.
Perception checks as needed.

Ta'ruk |
"Time to check the south door. I'd rather see an empty room then another good for nothing trap." says Ta'ruk. He stands ready for anything to pop out when the chuul tries the other door.
Skiron |
As the chuul goes to check the other door, Skiron peers into the southeastern room.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Jeneva |
Jeneva nods agreement to Ta'ruk, then turns her attention southward. "If this passage fails, I agree a backtrack is most appropriate." While the men and the summon explore and excavate, she keeps an eye out on the passage back the way they came, hand on her sword hilt and ready for an ambush.
Skiron |
Skiron shrugs and goes to peek into the room just opened as the chuul goes in to open the next door.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Skiron |
The chuul, probably eager to die at this point, continues its relentless stagger toward the door.
Skiron takes a few paces back and readies his bow in case the missile came from the other side of the door.
I ready an action to attack with my bow.
Simon Demarkus |
Simon steps up and searches the room as best he can without crossing the doorway. Paying special attention to where the missile came from.
Percep 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
Ta'ruk |
"I'll go in this time." says Ta'ruk. He casts shield on himself and slips past Simon into the room and looks around. He keeps his hammer ready for any nasties that may enter the door when the chuul opens it. perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
DMTFY |
Attempt to use mage hand to jiggle the handle and if possible open the wooden door from a distance.
Simon. If you are referring to the door on the southern wall, it is open. If you are referring to the door on the eastern wall. Dont you need line of sight for mage hand to work?
Jeneva |
"That is going to become tiresome," Jeneva snarls. She glares into the revealed corridor of rooms, searching for the point of origin for the magical blasts. If she can find the source of the trap, perhaps she can put an end to its assaults.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Jeneva |
Standing outside. She's already seen that stepping through the room gets you missile'd. She was hoping to see a source without closer examination.
Ta'ruk |
Ta'ruk joins Ravens in the last room."I see the logic in this place. Slowly drain our sanity with a thousand annoyances until we can't stand it anymore and end our own lives. "
Skiron |
Skiron has been observing the others in a bit of a daze, torn between present events and the riddles they've encountered.
"Any chance any of you own an enchanted ring? I don't."
