Ok kids. The hall here is of inlaid tiles and the walls and ceilings are painted with figures of animals, strange signs and glyphs, and humans and human-like creatures interacting with spheres of different colors. These globes are 2 dimensional. From north to south with the west wall being first and the east being second the figures and spheres appear as follows:
1. GOLD held high above head
2. ORANGE held waist high
3. PURPLE at feet
4. BRONZE held waist high
5. GRAY at shoulder
6. BRIGHT BLUE at feet
7. WHITE held high above head
8. TURQUOISE at shoulder.
9. SCARLET held waist high
10. PALE GREEN at feet
1. PALE BLUE at shoulder
2. SILVER at feet
3. GREEN held high above head
4. YELLOW at shoulder
5. PINK held high above head
6. BLACK at feet
7. PALE VIOLET at shoulder
8. RED held waist high
9. BUFF at feet
10. INDIGO held high above head
Ta'ruk |
Ta'ruk joins Ravens in the next room. He looks at the strange images on the walls. "Great, another puzzle. Do see any of these colored globes around here? I wonder if the positions are a code for unlocking something." He looks around the room for doors or colored globes. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

The colored globes and the spheres on the wall are one and the same, unless I misunderstand you and you are looking for additional globes? If so, there are no other colored globes.
I wonder if the positions are a code for unlocking something." He looks around the room for doors or colored globes. 1d20 + 4
You see 2 doors on the western wall.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Nothing from nobody?
Ravens begins to touch, punch, prod, push, pull, jack, violate, and twerk on the following spheres in order.
1. GOLD held high above head
2. ORANGE held waist high
3. PURPLE at feet
4. BRONZE held waist high
5. GRAY at shoulder
6. BRIGHT BLUE at feet
7. WHITE held high above head
8. TURQUOISE at shoulder.
9. SCARLET held waist high
10. PALE GREEN at feet
If something untoward/bad happens, he will stop and reconsider the genius of his actions.

Ravens: I believe that I have confused and/or scared most folks into inaction You will be able to work your way down the western wall and nothing will happen to you.
Yes I know there is a 20'x 20' that is still dark. Sorry about that, unfortunately the map I have has something that should not be on that section. It will be revealed when the time is right. There are no traps or monsters.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Ooh...I think I was confuzzled by the map and just trying to do something while waiting for something to do something. And I missed the doors. Also, I'm an idiot.
Also, I don't my posts caused any inaction. There are people who haven't posted in days.
When Ravens finishes twerking, Ravens opens the top door of the two.
DMTFY |
Ravens:If you are confuzzled about anything please feel free to ask. This is a complicated dungeon
As you open the door, you see a blank wall. Unfortunately, you also trigger the trap. Fear not it's one you are well accustomed to as 5 bolts of force hit you in the chest MM: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 3, 3) + 5 = 22
Ta'ruk |
Watching more magic missiles sear Ravens, Ta'ruk decides to open the other door quickly before he loses the effect of shield spell. He opens the door and looks inside. perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

"This place sucks."
"Verily. Perhaps one of us with they mystic shields should open the doors."
If there was ever a time for a broach of shielding
Jeneva |
Apologies again for inaction. I presume Jeneva'll take some damage in keeping pace with the group?
"I can't say I disagree," Jeneva adds, bringing up the rear of the group, still wary of an attack or ambush from behind while the trapspringers and investigators handle the front. She examines the paintings on the walls, looking for any kind of glyphs, wordings, or symbols along the patterns, beyond their color and location.
Skiron |
Seemingly out of nowhere, Skiron intones: "'Look high and low for gold, to hear a tale untold.'"
He drifts over to the first figure on the western wall. "Well, here's one. As for the 'lesser' gold..." He blinks an odd blink. "...lesser, lower, inferior, inferno, infernal, abyssal, abysmal, anarchic, architect, arrhythmic, arrogant, argument, arrangement...argent?"
He literally pivots to the second figure on the eastern wall, with the silver sphere at its feet. He looks back and forth at the two, taps his foot, and says in a firm tone, "well, let's have a tale, dammit!"
Detect secret doors for good measure.

Ravens goes to twerk/spin/twirl/kick the gold one, then the silver on the east wall.
"Yeah!" Ravens says, backing up Skiron.
Simon Demarkus |
"Um. Boss"
"Crap." Simon says quietly at the realization.
Sheilded simon goes back to Molly. No doubt a number of missiles unerringly fly towards him and are fizzled by his protection spell. She hops on his shoulder and he casts Shield on Molly (only possible because she is a familiar) and returns to where he was.
More missiles unerringly fly towards their targets only to repeat the anti-climactic fizzle agains the protection spells.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
As no one seems to have any better ideas, Ravens begins to touch, punch, prod, push, pull, jack, violate, and twerk on the following spheres in order.
1. PALE BLUE at shoulder

Ta'ruk |
Ta'ruk follows closely behind Ravens, the dirt grinding into his hands and knees. Keep your mind focused on the big picture. This is just a means to an end thinks Ta'ruk to himself.
Ta'ruk |
Tired, his back aching from crawling through the narrow space, Ta'Ruk's patience has run out. "Where did you lead us Ravens? Another dead end? I don't believe it. Even the most evil of fiends doesn't waste their time digging a tunnel to nowhere, unless..." Ta'ruk pauses for a moment. "Ravens do you see any blood or other remnants from some creature that met its demise here? Maybe the tunnel stops because the creature burrowing out met its end here."
Ta'ruk casts light to get a better view of tunnel. perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
DMTFY |
Refresher. You are all currently in a long crawlspace that terminated at an apparent dead end. The tunnel began at 6E on the map(behind the black sphere, which was an illusionary wall concealing the crawlspace.
Behind 3E is the way back through the Magic Missile series of empty rooms which will lead back to the "real" entrance as opposed to the 2 fake ones you discovered.
Ravens the Birdmaster |
Ravens waits to see if anyone finds anything else in the crawlspace. He heals himself twice again.
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 8) + 3 = 14 healing
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9 healing
"I think we need another way to do this. Why don't we start digging this place up?" Ravens asks and looks around again.

"I liked it better out where we had proper hallways with masonry and mosaics. What's say we reconsider the road less traveled? I guarantee you it isn't finished with us."
Simon Demarkus |
Simon the door does not appear to be trapped, which is confirmed by Ravens as he opens the door.
Ravens/all. I will reveal more of the map and give you all a proper description when I get home.
"FOR THE LOVE OF..." Simon begins as Ravens throws the door open thinking that a fire trap here would simply engulf the tunnel and kill them all in a horribly painful inferno. When painful death doesn't come as the door is open...
"...Oh. Well, that's fortunate."
