Yelek Hssar |
Yelek focuses on Kronas:"Where?" he states simply, a dangerous glint alive in his normally dead black eyes.
If Kronas tells him where to go Yelek smashes down the door and prepares to fight the captain
Xanderfel Drez |
"Fiddlesticks!" Xan laments as the notion of jumping ship, and promptly sinking to the ocean floor, rings like a church bell within his noggin.
"Priority number one--" he gasps as he runs behind the others "--should be puttin' out that there fire!"
Xan moves behind Yelek up the stairs.
GM Zinou |
At that moment, Riva begins to speak an strange tongue and plunges into a trance.
She's calling for animal help!
At that time, Xanderfel and Carax hear an evil laugh inside the captain's cabin!

Carax the Golden |
CLick. WIIIIIIIR. 1111--- Bot buddy activates!
Carax follows Kronas' gestures and climbs the stairs you just came from. Xanderfel follows him!
I'm Carax and I approve this message.
GM Zinou |
I moved you back the other way. That's the captain's cabin.
Carax opens the door and sees a woman with tangled black hair laughing as some comes out of a metal bin.
This room serves as the private quarters for Captain Wardak, and it contains an uncomfortable bed, a desk, a small chest.

Kronas Kronglic |
GM: I think your missing a token, where's the captain?
Kronas nods, seeing that Gribbl has things under control he runs off towards the others, shouting encouragement as he goes "You got this guys! If you need water, there's plenty of it all around us. Actually, this reminds me of the time a Pathfinder, Shoora Lightbroom, singlehandedly put out a forest fire with nothing but a thimble and..."
move action to follow, standard to inspire courage +1 to hit and damage for all Kronas' favourite people.
Xanderfel Drez |
Thanks for clarification!
Xan pokes his head to the side to get a good look at the captain, noting with great concern the smoke billowing from the nearby bin. Twisting his mouth into a crooked scowl, he coughs and snarls in her direction, catching her eyes with the daggers within his own.
Evil Eye (Will DC 15) for -2 AC at least one round, seven rounds if she fails the save.
GM Zinou |
Xanderfel curses the captain and she unsheathes two kukris to attack Carax before her. At the same time, an eagle appears over Dale and flies towards the captain's cabin. He flies past Carax' head and tries to attack the captain! The captain's attacks connect once while the eagle manages to hit her. Meanwhile, Riva frees more prisoners.

Xanderfel Drez |
Xan frowns as the captain's eyes break free from his own at the last second. Mustering his will once more, he again draws her gaze to his own, attempting to lock her mind within a web of fear.
Since she made her save, her AC is -2 for this round only. But now Xan is going after her attack, so another DC 15 Will save, and her attack will be -2 for at least 1 round, or 7 rounds if she fails.
Kronas Kronglic |
I guess you had to miss sometime Yelek :)
"Hah, he's just playing with you!" Kronas just laughs confidently as Yelek misses his first attack "Just ask the other people who upset him today... Should be easy to find any of them, their parts are scattered all over the place!" He pokes his head around the corner with a devious smile "Just wait, you'll see." he says with a wink.

Gribbl |
Gribbl leaves Riva to free prisoners and follows the rest of the party to the captain's quarters... He casts adhesive spittle, ready to spit goo at the captain at the next available opportunity.
GM Zinou |
@Xanderfel: Your character has no idea if the captain made her save or not! Please refrain from metagaming and select another action, for instance another attribute to give -2.
Kronas continues to inspire courage and taunts the captain! Dale waits for an opening while Gribbl continues to free the slaves.
Carax is still up!
Gribbl |
GM, see Gribbl's action above yours.. he left Riva to free slaves while he followed the party and cast a spell
GM Zinou |
The captain is wounded but chooses to fight anyway! She shrugs the curse but is affected a bit anyway. She hits Carax only once and doesn't move otherwise. The eagle make a 5 foot flying step and full attacks the captain, without managing to connect.
Riva frees more prisoners.

Kronas Kronglic |
GM: Did the intimidate check fail?
Kronas hustles up the stairs in an attempt to get out of the way "Okay, okay... I feel I may have upset you before. What about a joke to lighten the mood?" He pulls out a tiny jam tart from a pouch and stuffs it in his mouth, then with his mouth still full says "What are the only notes a pirate can sing? High C's!" He claps to punctuate the joke and a handful of feathers fly into the air.
Free action to maintain inspire courage [6/9] +1 to hit and damage rolls for all my favourite people
Standard action to cast Hideous Laughter DC 15 or fall prone laughing for 1 round. Move action to move.
GM Zinou |
No, you're right, it worked. Thanks for the head's up. I put it but it doesn't anything to what happened before.
Kronas maintains his performance and casts a spell to make Captain Wardak fall to floor laughing!
Will save: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 - 2 = 3
Worn out by the combat, she falls on the floor, prone, laughing her lungs out.
Yelek Hssar |
Yelek's first instinct would be to coup the grace the enemy and be done with her BUT the party may want to capture her for interrogation and Yelek respects orders above all else, even his violent urges. I guess we'd better try do grapple her and subdue her while she's laughing
Yelek advances on the captain. For a moment the snakeman seemss ready to finish the woman with a swift strike of his greatsword but then relents and tries to subdue her instead!
CMB (grapple): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
On subsequent rounds Yelek will pin her down and then tie her up
Dale the Sage |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 Dale looks at Kronas as he casts the spell and ponders the joke for a moment before finally connecting the joke to the punchline. "Oh I get it, I think. Its not THAT funny, but I guess she thinks so, and that's what matters here."
"Yelek get in there before she gets up, that spell doesn't last long!" He shouts in direction.
Dale doesn't do much other than state the obvious and take up a 5' square at the moment.
Gribbl |
Gribbl moves into the room, risking an aoo from the bird.
acrobatics to avoid an aoo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Seeing the captain is down on the ground, he aims his adhesive spittle at the bird, hoping to ground it.

Xanderfel Drez |
"Good one!" Xan pats Kronas on the shoulder, pleased that he can reach it. Then he looks woefully toward the cramped cabin. "Well shoot! Tight quarters up here! But looks like ya'll got that situation under yer thumbs." He instead bobbles down the staircase toward Riva, assisting with the locks and examining the captives, his hand softly glowing.
Xan will use his healing hex on Riva or any captive who appears hurt.
Dale the Sage |
Dale gives the frog a puzzling look as he hacks up a lunger on the summoned hawk. "You do know the bird isn't real and was assisting us, courtesy of our enslaved pathfinder friend? I expect he'll wink out of existence soon enough."
Carax the Golden |
Sorry! I was temporarily out with [REDACTED FOR TMI] and today had my first solid food in three days!
Carax calmly walks over and aims his sword at the Captain's chest (making sure to flank her with somebody). "Madame," he says. "I would be pleased to accept your surrender now. This need not get any uglier than it already has."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Longsword and flank and bonus for prone opponent: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 4 + 2 = 161d8 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (2) = 11
Light Shield Slam and flank and bonus for prone opponent: 1d20 + 6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 4 + 2 = 191d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Yelek Hssar |
Sorryt for not moving Yelek's token
Yelek enters the cabin and tries to grapple the laughing captain...
I suppose I can use the previous rolls? If not here's Yelek's grapple attempt
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
GM Zinou |
@Yelek: Sure, no probs. I use your second roll to pin her down.
Yelek moves in and grapples the captain. Meanwhile, Carax tries to parlay but he has trouble making sense in a situation where she laughs her lungs out to Kronas' joke.
Will save DC 15: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 2 = 14
However, she continues to laugh and is unable to make anything else. Meanwhile, Yelek pins her on the floor. She quickly realizes that she's surrounded and ask for a parlay, surrendering herself to you.
Let's end things here, you're OUT OF COMBAT
Kronas Kronglic |
"Oh I get it, I think. Its not THAT funny"
"Well, it's pirate humour. Much funnier if you're a pirate." Kronas says with a smile. Once the captain surrenders, he rushes into the room to see what was causing all the smoke, and apparent glee from the pirate, earlier. "Where's the fire?"
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Yelek Hssar |
Once pinned down is a simple matter for Yelek and the others to tie down the pirate captain.
Once that's done the Nagaji seems to lose interest in the woman just staring at her with his lifeless serpentine eyes...
Intimidation check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
GM Zinou |
That's enough a good roll, Yelek
You immediately put out the fire burning in the bon, you prevent the whole ship to catch on fire but there’s very little left of the documents burning to read. The trained eyes of Kronas are able to spot a letter signed “Muhlia."
With Captain Wardak captured and her ship, the At Sea, seized by the Pathfinder Society, you have revealed Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri’s involvement in attempts to infiltrate the highest levels of Absalom’s inner workings. The harbor pilot, Zigil, dutifully navigates the ship through the Ship Graveyard safely to the docks, where city officials take custody of the vessel.
You return to Lady Darchana to bring her up to speed on everything that has happened. Pleased with your success but deeply troubled by the implications, Lady Darchana has the bounty payment on Captain Wardak and the At Sea authorized and she addresses to you once more before dismissing you: “Pathfinders, you have done a great service to Absalom today. The full extent, understandably, may never be widely known or recognized by the sleeping masses, but know that the Pathfinder Society can count on me as a friend and ally, and I hope that I may call upon you again in the future should the need arise.”
Upon returning to the Grand Lodge, Riva recounts what she can to Venture-Captain Valsin and you about her time spent in the Okeno slave markets on Stonespire Island, confirming several interactions with a heavily veiled humanoid woman who forcibly took blood samples on two occasions. When Riva inquires as to the fate of the other Pathfinders she was on assignment with, Venture-Captain Valsin closes his eyes and slowly shakes his head. “No contact,” is all he says on the matter.
CONGRATS! It's the end of the scenario!
Dale the Sage |
Dale spends the trip back to shore 'assisting' Zigil piloting the ship, mostly spouting inane information about everything from the history of the engineering of their ship to the differences in sea life here and just down the coast. He's having a grand time of it.
Dale accepts his congratulations and well wishes from the Lady with a smile and a nod, doing his best to keep his mouth shut, at least until payment has been made. It wouldn't be the first time someone withheld payment just because I called them out on their ignorance!
Dale does his best to give his proper condolences to Riva for his comrades, but he's far too curious about this woman and taking of blood samples. "Blood samples you say? Did she collect hair and skin samples as well? Nails? Very interesting!" A woman after my own heart! I wonder what sort of research she's doing?
Yelek Hssar |
"Thisss one isss glad the misssion wasss accomplissshed with sssatisssfying resssultsss" Yelek hisses as always sounding devoid of any emotion at all.
