I have Lazarus finished here! Gunslinger (Musket Master), Yerasol Veteran.

I'll admit full out, I kind of went overboard. I have an uncomfortable level of excitement for this setting and campaign and that lead to crazy writing hands.

Next week can't come soon enough!

Just a heads up, most likely tomorrow I'll be giving all the submissions so far a quick review and a bit of feedback.

Dang it, Ok so could I switch to a Deva(elf) since I don't need the eladrin buff to cha? I would have to adjust my backstory a bit but class and crunch should be unaffected.

Here is my submission for this endeavor Isaac Kgmperss. I will be pursuing the Technologist theme.

I live in the eastern US and generally post in the morning before work and then after work.

Some connectivity issues coupled with a dead phone knocked me out of the internet this weekend and I didn't have time to go over backgrounds as promised. All is resolved however, and I'll be cranking something out later tonight.

Hey, I am really interested in this campaign that you want to run and actually have a character in mind already. I'll have it posted sometime later today.

Alright, I have hit out a lot of what needed to be done if not everything. If you have anything I need to change or have questions, message me or post and I'll be happy to talk it out or oblige.
My character, Allan Daxton, the Quinggong Monk.

Finally got around to that review I promised - let me know if I missed anyone.

Allan Daxton: I like that you've given me a hook that I might add to the story as I see fit with Raina's kidnappers. I'm curious as to where or how he decided to become a monk. Qinggong monk's especially seem to have that mystical martial artist feel - is he self trained or was there a wise mentor somewhere?

Caelholdt Lupheriden: Aside from needing a background of course, the only issue I can see is that his race is listed once as Eladrin and once as elf. See my post earlier about how Eladrin have separate stats than elves, contrary to the old Player's Guide.

Drake Morrell: I originally read Mr. Millerton as an old man and sort of a retired constable, however I just noticed that he's described as middle aged at one point in your background. I'm still vague on whether you intended him to be an active constable however.

Enletharial the Shaper: Yes, the switch to deva would be fine, although it would change up the whole "growing up in an Eladrin enclave" part of your backstory. Also, throw your information into your alias when you get the time.

Isaac Kgmperss: I'd like to see a little bit more background so I can get a feel for Isaac a little better.

Isabel Flynn: Nicely formatted profile, but I'd like just a little more background - does she know who killed Flynn? How did Isabel come to join the constables?

Lazarus Cain: Background looks great, although if selected I'd ask that you copy you character stats into your profile.

Lynn Minerva: Got your pm, her true origins definitely fit with the overal plot, but keep them hidden, as I might tie them in to something larger. You can keep the prosthetic arm - due to reasons unknown to Lynn yet it would be unusually advanced technologically and serve you just as well as a regular arm.

Yeah, I wanted to create an origin for Allan Daxton where the GM could have a something to use if he so wanted. So, you know, go nuts with it if ya think you could do something with it. On the monk note, I wanted to sort of evoke in the back story without directly involving such a powerful being that the whole mystic part came about indirectly because of the ash wolf. I know the entire story is a little rough on the edges but for his training, he is mostly self-trained. In the beginning, he was given the necessary teaching from the police but he did the rest on his own; exercising his muscles and perfecting his dexterity while practicing combat with other police members and on small time criminals. And as to why he IS a monk, he prefers fighting without weapons because he feels as though when Raina was taken, he was useless with or without them, and that in order to save Raina as well as defeat her kidnappers, he should rely on his own body. As well, in combat with weapons, it makes him feel more out of focus and less engaged than when he's using his own body. The monk class just seemed to fit him over most of the other fighting classes because of their focus on weapons. If there are still discrepancies, please feel free to inquire and I'll be happy to oblige and/or correct myself. :)

I've rejiggered the racial crunch, should be mechanically acceptable now.
Graduate Thesis will be something like 'Pistol and Rapier; Defensive transition to offence in short to medium range engagements'.

Only character background/personality left.

Are you still taking submissions for this, if so I'll probably do a rejigged/rebackgrounded version of this character.
Human Steel-Hound investigator.

He is. :) You have until the sixteenth to get everything hammered out. Might be better to have it done sooner so you have time to interact with the DM. :)

Yep, yep. 16th is the deadline so get those characters finished! As always input is available on request.

Mr. Millerton being active or retired seems to be something I can tweak based on what you would like for the game. Which one do you feel you can work with better: retired or active? I was kinda viewing him as nearing retirement but can easily change that. It wasn't a detail I am set in stone on.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

I like nearing retirement - I might use his impending retirement as a plot device somehow.

Please see my profile for revised version of Arthur, decided against Steel Hound in the end and planning on Empiricist (which makes no difference until level 2 anyway)

caveat: background is kinda rough at the moment, needs another pass to get things tied together neatly, as is he's a noble bastard, whether you'd want to pursue his family ties is left fairly open either way.

Haven't done gear, but it'll be fairly standard stuff, I don't suppose it's possible to swap the standard billy club for a light mace version so he can use with weapon finesse, if not I'll hardly quibble over the 5gp required for one and just leave the heavy version in his locker.

Also have a feat left to pick, what are your feelings with Weapon Finesse applying to combat manoeuvres? Mostly thinking Dirty Trick & disarm, if you're against it I'll probably get Agile Manouvres, if you'll let it slide most of the time then I'll probably go with Improved Dirty Trick.

Happy to hear any thoughts, comments, errors, etc.

As a note I am UK-based, if it matters at all.

Forgot that part; I'm UTC -8:00, Pacific time (US & Canada)

According to the the errata from on the PFSRD page for Agile Maneuvers, Weapon Finesse only applies to weapon-based maneuvers (disarm, trip, and sunder). All the others (dirty trick included) need Agile Maneuvers.

Unfortunately for your five gold pieces, the RHC doesn't make any special concessions on the gear they give to new recruits (too much paperwork).

Dotting.

I'll read the player guide and see what if I can think of something interesting for this game. :)

Very well, let's place him at nearing retirement. If you have any other questions let me know. Otherwise I will make any updates to Drake and post again when I am finalized for the selection process.

Fair enough, I'll think on the last feat then and get around to gear.

And I am finished. I did some reworking of the mechanics to fit the background better. I went with the Zeitgeist Gunsmith theme over being a Martial Scientist.

I believe I have everything, though it is possible I may have missed some small detail.

Drake Morrell is ready for final review and the end of recruitment.

1 day left before go time! It looks like everyone who's submitted an alias has their character complete except for Caelholdt Luperin (missing background) and Enleharial the Shaper (needs info in profile).

Humm

I'm withdrawing. Still interested but ran out of time to create a concept.

Good luck everyone. :)

Alright, I think I'm complete now. Ready for review.

First off, I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who applied for showing interest in the campaign. The choice was tough, but the following five applicants have been approved to join the ranks of the Royal Homeland Constabulary:

Drake Morell
Isabel Flynn
Lazarus Cain
Lynn Minerva
Allan Daxton

Get over to Gameplay and get in on the action! Note that because you're not on an official 'mission' you won't receive any stipend yet, only the equipment listed in your profile. Interestingly enough, the party zero magical support aside from the alchemist, so get ready for some creative problem solving!

As always, best of luck to those whom I regrettably couldn't accept.

Congratulations and good luck to you.

Grand Lodge

Hi everyone!

We are looking for a GM to take over the game for us! Unfortunately we've lost our GM and haven't heard of him for quite a while.

We have a good group on the go and would love to continue the little we've started.

Please let us know if anyone would be interested in jumping onto this and taking it over! We are flexible!

Hmm, I do love ZG...

How far are you guys along on this? You are in book 1, right?

Grand Lodge

Yes, we are still more or less on the opening scene.

We had just wrapped up an altercation with a number of Dockers that were smuggling weapons into the area as they crossed the bridge and our GM vanished before moving the scene past that.

4/5 of us are still active here on the boards.

That being:

Isabel Flynn
Lazarus Cain
Lynn Minerva
Allan Daxton

I am not sure where Grand Moff Vixen/Drake Morell is, but there haven't been any recent posts under the Alias's I checked.

We are easy going and flexible if you're willing to take us on!

Technically, he'd moved the scene onto the boat and introduced major characters after sticking my poor investigator into a dress... but, you know. :P

:)

You have a veteran, 2 dockers, vekeshi, and a martial scientist... No one took a Spirit Medium... Eschatologist... neither..

You have two Musket Master Gunslingers, a swashbuckler, an Alchemist, and a monk.... The last time I ran this adventure which was in February the party didn't have a healer and that wasn't good.

Your group needs a healer of some sort. Clerics are a bit odd in this setting unless you went for a Seedist, Millerist, Clergyist or even a philosopher of Heid Eschatol( which would be pretty awesome) Someone always saying, "Today is not the best time to die but I may have to refrain from helping you next time."

Anyway, I think I will ponder this over the weekend and see if I want to take over this game.

Alrighty. I think the DM was just more interested in concepts than the team working well together. I'm not really sure what -was- proposed without looking back on it. There may well have simply not been the right things applying.

Grand Lodge

We are definitely open to go to a limited recruitment to fill out any additional roles needed. I don't recall there being a showing for any divine class if I recall.

Ok, I have decided that I would like to take on this game. I do suggest we get another one or two constables for the game and I shall be able to get this game popping by the weekend.

I have just started my Maztica campaign and well I wanted to get that one off the ground before jumping in this Cauldron

If you need someone and Shaman is an available option please let me know.

Grand Lodge

Yay! Happy for that! I feel the major holes we're missing are with a Healer type (Cleric/Oracle) as well as a straight Arcane.

Let me know if you need/want anything from my end! :)

Do you know if there are any spirits that would not fit? I am probably good otherwise assuming that the character creation rules are the same as presented on the first post.

You should take a peek at the ZG extended players' guide. The only thing from it that I don't like is the change from High Elf to Eladrin.

Spirits that wouldn't work is heaven because of the formation of the planes and the disconnectedness of them. I am in general pretty flexible.

Alright, I hope to get someone rolled up today. Besides healing, do you need more melee or ranged? Or something else?

Awesome. Now we can get this rolling again.

Nohwear here. At this point I am just posting to make it easier to work on my character.

EDIT: Would it be possible to start with an Ioun Wyrd?

Nohwear, ioun wyrd is fine by me.

What is your theme going to be? Can I have a backstory?

Theme: Spirit Medium

Background: Sven was born with a caul on his face. Just like the old tales say, he has a natural gift for contacting the dead. He often finds himself torn between two worlds. Industry vs Nature. Spirit vs Flesh. The Living vs The Dead. The strange stone and wood creature claims to be his spirit guide made manifest. With its guidance he has begun to master his spiritual powers. But with out balance in his life Sven is doomed to insanity, or worse. He joined the Constabulary in order to give him that balance. To give himself a strong counter point to the advice of Nex.

Let me know if you want more.

Yes, where is he from?

How did you get the job with the RHC? The RHC is a mix of a commando unit, spy agency and special police.

Remember it is first level with standard starting gold.

With a name like Sven of the Dragon Lands that sounds like your character is from Ber. Is that true?

Yes, I am from Ber. How common are people with heroic themes? Would they take me basically because I can talk with the dead?

Some are rarer than others, Skyseer is probably the rarest, followed by Spirit Medium. Just because you have the ability to talk to the dead wouldn't allow you to join a secret police/spy agency in a foreign country.

Where in Ber are you from? How did you get to Flint? How long have you been here? Why are you loyal to Risur vs. Ber? Considering that humans are a minority but to be fair no creature is in the majority but it is run by a minotaur.

I have been doing ZG for a long time and I love the setting and the story. I have run Book 1 in its entirety twice and had a TPK once. If you have any questions about the setting feel free to ask, I actually did some proofreading on the compendium they made last summer.

I have been thinking, and I can not think of anything better. How he got to Flint? He does not really remember the trip. He became too wrapped up in the world of spirits and began to loose his grip on reality. Not that long a go he had a moment of clarity in the city and decided that joining the RHC would give him enough of a grounding in the physical world to balance out his life. He was never a big patriot, but has built up some resentment toward the land of his birth because he felt that he was being pushed to focus on his spiritual gifts to the point of his detriment.

So, is my backstory good now? Are you wanting something more?

Could you flesh out your backstory more? I mean all of the other characters have a fleshed out character and backstory. The main issue is because this is an adventure where your character is dealing with some very important and sensitive government materials. Why would the RHC hire you? That is where the backstory comes in and gives me a feel as GM of about what your motivations are and how your character fits into the story.

The RHC would do an elaborate background check on you. In adventure 1, outside consultants really don't fit.
