Similarly, Ellena has been updated to use Spheres.
Changes:
General: Ellena is no longer a Dual-Talented human, meaning she lost two points in Intelligence. In return, she gained Skilled (no net change in skill points) and the human bonus feat.
The Gladiator Sphere has given her two ranks in Intimidate. She's still not very good at it.
Fabian is now a rapier, rather than a dueling sword. This has the added advantage of fitting her portrait.
Feat Changes: Ellena lost Weapon Focus and gained Combat Reflexes. Her human bonus feat went to Extra Martial Talent.
So I think next level I'll definitely be taking the first level of Soul Weaver, selecting Channel Positive to also function as the party healer in a pinch.
Though my Ghost strike abilities use negative energy according to the description
A healing Soul Weaver (or one with Versatile Channeler and Blessing/Blight Mastery) can also use blessings, which scale up to be excellent as emergency healings. Blights are mostly for necromancy, which doesn't seem to be Co's cup of tea.
I've also had a lot of fun with the Ghost Sovereign archetype. Having phantom Conjuration Sphere companions has the potential to be amazing, especially on the RP side (ancestors or ancient kings guiding you from beyond the grave, or are they just delusions?).
Also, FYI: I had somehow missed that, so in case you did too, the Spheres of Might gishes playtest also include the Prodigy, a Mid-BAB, Mid-Casting class built on action chains and combos (a bit like the Swordmaster). It's got Martial Flexibility expanding to magic talents, and a plethora of different options for different spheres, both martial and magical, all building on the chain mechanics. Looks like a headache to build but a blast to play.
@YBD Used the guidelines to create a custom one, as all of the example traditions gave me things I'd never use. For example, Dedicated Duelist (the closest thematically to Ellena) gave me Finesse Training (which I already get via Swordlord) and either Unarmored Training (which doesn't stack with the Swordlord's Tactful Deflections) or Gauntlet Shield (which would stop me from using Sword Arts).
Great idea, Alice, just an old Skyseer, how dangerous could it be? The young ones can handle it!
Az, should we try to track Cippiano or the maker of the Invisibility Potion while we wait?
Sounds like a plan. I'd been hoping someone would get to that eventually, and the fact that Azaghal is with you is a nice bonus. *mysterious grin*
Go ahead and post the initial stuff in Gameplay whenever you're ready. You won't have any trouble getting in to see him, so we can handwave that initial bit.
@Alice: I'll advance things for everyone once you post. No rush, though, I kind of delivered a rather large info dump, after all. XD
@Corynne: Since Alice is currently at the Danoran Consulate with Azaghal, I'm guessing you meant Ellena? XD
@Ellena: They're actually blood-red hummingbirds from the Dreaming - not mosquitoes. XD Do you want to take up Alice's suggestion and expend martial focus this round?
That would've been smart, but I'm not going to worry about it now that it's past.
@YBD - The carriage is wheeled; are a pair of its wheels over the cliff? I'm thinking we can break the ones still on solid ground to stop it from moving.
@Ellena: the wheels aren't over the cliff edge yet, but since the ground's sloped, it's slowly rolling that way. Breaking the wheels is very doable (and is actually one of the suggested actions) via Disable Device DC 18.
Finals start this week for me, so I'll be spending most of my time alternately studying and fantasizing about dropping out and becoming a Batman villain. Please bot me if I'm slowing things down.
@Az: The leads that come into my mind are:
- Going back to Sechim and try to track the guys who wanted alkahest.
- Try to track the factory arsonists.
- Ask around for information on Scar. My contacts are a bit high-class if he's a thug, but someone might know about him.
Do you have any suggestion?
Male Dwarf Gunslinger (Musket Master) 3; HP 28/28; AC 18/14/14; F+5/R+6/W+3 (+2 vs poison/spell/SLA); Init. +3; Per. +7 (+2 vs stone)
I would first say we should go back to Sechim and see if he can give us more information about the guys who wanted the alkahest; it's a possibility that they are the same people who set the factory fires, or at least in league with them and trying to extort money or materials from the different factory owners. Scar is a potential lead at this point, but given that the only information we have about him, I think, came from LeBrix, I don't think we have enough information to warrant going after him specifically. A threat perhaps, but to my notion not one of as immediate concern.
On an unrelated note: I thought Last Jedi was awesome.
Happy New Year, everyone. Life's been really hectic lately, but I think it's finally starting to settle back down. Hopefully I'll be back to my normal daily (or every other day) posting routine very shortly.
We should be able to bring the party together again shortly. If the Cloudwood group accepts Nevard's terms, the subsequent events will require the entire party. Or, if they decline, by the time they leave the Cloudwood, it'll be early evening, so that's a good time for everyone to meet up and compare notes.
So, if we're going to Cursed Hill, we'll need to outfit. The first things that spring into my mind are:
- ghost salt for rifle ammo
- oil of magic weapon for our sharp implements
- possibly powder/flour in case there are invisibles
- an everburning torch or ioun torch each
- holy water
Additionally, a couple of scrolls, maybe something from the Light, Fate or Protection spheres, could help.
