Muhax Tos |
Muhax steps lightly off of the speeder-bike, leveling herself on the balcony. Once inside, she listens and quietly responds, "I would also suggest finding where their storage is, as they deal in weapons and we may arm ourselves. But information is a valuable resource. This docking bay will have what we need then."
She looks for some stairs up, quietly. Her eyes were sharp today and it was only a matter of time. Looking between the others, especially Tibs, "Silence and patience makes a good hunter. We must have both in equal measure. Now, we walk heel first.."

Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
"This isn't even a good one, Muhax. I was on Tattoine once with my Pa and there was this Lynnex Corp. Red Tylven Speeder. Oh man, thing was so smooth. You could put your drink down on it and it wouldn't even spill while at top speed. Beautiful thing, it is..." Tibs sighs out with a smile on his face as the speeder rises upwards, lifting them towards the terrace. He keeps an eye out, guiding Amon should he see any lights on within the building and helping him avoid those ones.
"Then lets get to the docking bay, likely where their transactions are taking place anyways and any information about our target would be. Let's go." Tibs would say quietly, drawing his blaster out just in case but setting it to stun. These weren't crooks or anything, just security keeping the place safe. He'd head to the elevator and see if they were a simple "go up, go down" situation or something more complicated and would perhaps require the technical geniuses behind him to help. If not, he'd wait for them to get in before nodding to the others.
"I think we should perhaps get off a floor or two below the docking bay. I'm sure they'll be guards watching the elevators and ensuring only the proper guests come in. If we use the stairs, we can perhaps sneak in and act like we belong there."
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
To the bay with docking in it and we'll make today our leg day with the stairs.
Aralli K'Shein |
Agreed: Stairs and docking bay
DM Yorick |
Alrighty, let's have everyone (not Amon or Hou) take 3 Strain for climbing several flights of stairs. Can reduce it by rolling Endurance against Average difficulty.
The group moves quietly up the flights of stairs, making their way from the fourth level up to to the eighth, the twelfth, and finally to the fifteenth. From the stairwell they hear some slight commotion inside - what sounds like a ship being prepared for a late-night takeoff.
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
That sounds good, I'll take the stress. Rather not risk taking an awful result or having something terrible happen while climbing stairs :P
Tiberius would make it to the fifteenth floor, his blaster drawn as he looked back at the others. The excitement of breaking into a corporate building was obvious upon his face as he cleared his throat and nodded.
"So we...uh...going to just stride in there like we belong? Or are we looking to just get access to the terminal and see if they have our target's information there?"
Zagulo Maresh |
Breathing slightly heavily from the walk to the fifteenth floor, Zagulo thinks I should have said the elevator. Either that or perhaps I should take up exercising.
To Tibs' question, Zagulo says, [b]"I would like to get access to a terminal to see whether they have information about the target's location. Perhaps we can carefully peek out the stairwell to see if we can determine how many people are present in the docking bay?
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
"Alright then, nice and quiet." Tibs would say, opening the door to the docking bay if he could. As long as there were no immediate guards, he'd move to the nearest cover and try to get a look of what was around.

Muhax Tos |
Muhax was about the same when she reached the end of the stair flights, patting at her stomach, "This hunting feeling..I have missed it. My body has grown still with this new space." She bent over and exhaled a steady breath. As Tibs began to move, she touched his shoulder lightly, whispering, "Signal to us if the coast is clear. The less we move, the less we are noticed."
To Zagulo, "If it is clear, we may borrow a console within." Muhax busied herself with leaning against the door's edge, keeping an eye on Tibs and the stairs that they ascended in turn.

DM Yorick |
Sorry all, out of town for the weekend.
Outside
Hou and Amon are waiting for the others, when in the bask of neon lights, Hou spots movement out of the corner of his eye, moving around the side of the building and seeming to vanish into the shadows.
Upstairs
Tibs opens the door quietly, sneaking into the room and crouching behind some large boxes. This entire floor seems to be one large warehouse and shipping room. The ceiling is quite high, giving Tibs the impression that floors 16 and 17 don't actually exist - save for a few catwalks that spread across the ceiling where floor 17 might be.
There are a few workers rushing about, moving some crates over to a Firespray-Class ship. It looks like they've got some kind of a last minute shipment going out. Tibs spots several terminals around the bay, the closest one being about 15 feet from the door, against the wall.
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
"I see a terminal right over there. Zags, you and Aralli check it out. Muhax and I will keep an eye out for you guys." Tibs whispers back to the group as he looks up at the Firespray ahead of them. Those ships had a real nasty reputation with them, a favorite of bounty hunters, slavers, and other ne'er-do-wells.
He'd move ahead quietly now, from box to box, looking out and trying to see if anyone would be approaching where they were. As he got closer as well, he'd look the spacecraft over and see if there was anything that he happened to recognize or heard of within it.
If it is necessary, I'll make a Stealth roll. Would it be okay to say it is Easy difficulty, thanks to all the boxes and things around the area? I'd also like to try and do a Kn: Underworld for the spaceship. No idea what the difficulty of that would be.
Stealth: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (9) + (1, 3) = 13
2 successes & 1 advantage[/dice]
Difficulty: 1d8 ⇒ 5
[ooc]1 threat
Total So Far: 2 successes
Kn: Underworld: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (11) + (4, 4) = 19
4 successes and 2 advantage. I'll use my advantages to notice something else about the scene.
Zagulo Maresh |
Zagulo merely nods to Tibs and sneaks over to the terminal to begin slicing it.
Stealth: 2d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (1, 10) + (4) = 15
2 successes, 2 advantages
Difficulty: 1d8 ⇒ 4
1 Threat
2 sucesses, 1 advantage total. Can I use that advantage to give myself a boost die for my Computer check?
Aralli K'Shein |
Aralli also nods and turns to QT, telling him to stay put as she follows Zagulo towards the terminal, her blaster drawn.
Stealth: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (6) + (6, 2) = 14
2 advantages, 1 success
Hou Wong Xia |
-Hey! There!
Hou Wong runs after the figure, and spends just a milisecond in turning his head and shouting to Amon.
-Stay there and watch the doors!
Muhax Tos |
Muhax is watching the stairs and covering the rear, her breathing trying to steady itself. Her claws pricked her palms, feeling them and reassuring herself that she could use them if she had to. Her throat was feeling tense, and she moved to soothe one side with her hand.
DM Yorick |
Difficulty Aralli: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Zagulo, Aralli, and Tibs have no issue sneaking their way to the terminal, hiding behind boxes and moving in shadows. Muhax covers the rear, keeping ready should anything follow them up the stairs. So far, all seems quiet.
As Zagulo begins hacking the terminal with assistance from Aralli, while Tibs keeps an eye out, watching the scene in front of him. The workers, primarily humans and ugnaughts, are moving several large boxes on hover-lifts towards the Firespray. As Tibs watches, he sees what he imagines to be the Foreman arguing with another figure, wearing green Mandalorian-style armour. Tibs doesn't recognise the pilot. While too far to hear what they're arguing about, it seems to come to a head as the pilot stalks over to his ship. The foreman wipes sweat from his brow and yells at his men to hurry up.
--
Meanwhile outside, Hou rushes around the side of the building towards the loading dock on the ground floor. For a moment, he doesn't see anything, but his eyes quickly adjust to the shadow. There's a figure crouched down defensively, gripping a blade made from broken glass. Blonde hair shines in the darkness, but her face is still obscured in shadow.
DM Yorick |
Let's say 2 Difficulty. This isn't a terminal that's particularly easy to get to - being that it's pretty high up in the building in a big room, so security won't be too locked down on it. You actually need 2 Advantage to Boost yourself, but you could boost Tibs or Muhax with your Advantage. You'll get a Boost yourself anyway because Aralli is assisting you.
Zagulo Maresh |
Okay, I wasn't sure. I'll boost Muhax, since Muhax is covering the stairs.
Computers Roll: 2d8 + 2d12 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 7) + (8, 1) + (1) = 22
2 success, 3 advantage
Difficulty: 2d8 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
2 Threat
Total is 2 success, 1 advantage.
Zagulo begins slicing the terminal, looking for any data that will allow them to locate the target.
Hou Wong Xia |
Third time I write this, I hope it doesn't appear as duplicated later.
-Hey, calm down... I don't want to hurt you- says Hou Wong, trying to appear as friendly as possible. -My friends and I are looking for certain bounty hunter. If you've happened to see him, we might have some credits for you. Deal?
Aralli K'Shein |
Not sure if I need to make a roll to assist,.. but will post one just in case.
Computers: 1d12 + 3d8 ⇒ (12) + (2, 4, 2) = 20
1 Triumph!, and 4 successes
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
A roll is not needed, luckily. If you have someone helping, you gain the boost die.
Amon Toph |
Amon was absolutely distracted when Hou yelled at him, and didn't quite notice as someone else passed by, followed by his companion. The pilot shook his head in confusion, and barely managed to spit some words.
Roger... That... - as he turned his body on the direction of the two.
DM Yorick |
Outside
A few moments go by with nothing happening before the blade starts to lower, and a figure cautiously steps from the shadow, still keeping a distance from Hou. He can see that she's a teenage girl, though it's hard to pin down an actual age. She's filthy, and looks to have been living on the streets for a long time. Perhaps most striking of all, is that while she looks human, she lacks eyes. There is flesh covering where her sockets would be. To Hou, as a trained medic, it appears as if her species had outgrown needing eyes thousands of years ago.
Roll Xenology. Difficulty 2.
She watches Hou for a few seconds, keeping the knife between them. "How do I know I can trust you?" She finally asks, her voice quietly piercing the night.
.
Upstairs
Zagulo hacks into the system easily and begins searching for any information on the bounty hunter Kaa'to, quickly locating an invoice. It lays out a partial shipment of weapons, delivered one day ago. The address is listed as being in Sector 943.
Roll Kn Underworld, 2 Difficulty, to see what you know about Sector 943.
It appears that the remainder of the weapons are scheduled to be delivered later this evening at the same address. Among the items listed on the invoice is a miniature thermal detonator.
While cross-referencing, Zagulo also finds a recall notice for miniature thermal detonators. Apparently they are defective, and rarely detonate when properly used.

Difficulty Dice: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 5) = 12 => 3 Threats
3 Successes, 1 Threat
-Well, you can't, really - says Hou Wong, shrugging his shoulders. -But try to think why should I have a quarry with you. I don't even know you. Plus, if I had any bad intention, you would probably sense it, I guess, right?
Zagulo Maresh |
Underworld: 1d12 + 3d8 ⇒ (5) + (1, 7, 3) = 16
4 successes, 1 advantage
Difficulty: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 7) = 8

Total 4 successes, 1 threat
Zagulo looks over the data before whispering to those near him, "This address is for a Kelerium processing plant owned by Novacore. It's nearly entirely droid automated, and has been operational for centuries. It makes up nearly a third of the Works sector here on Coruscant. We could search the complex for hours or days and possibly not find Kaa'to."
Hou Wong Xia |
Hou Wong responds with caution. -The man we're looking for is called Kaa'to. Do you know him?- he pays attention to the girl's reaction. Then he adds -As for the price, I guess it depends on how valuable is your info. But I promise to be fair.
Muhax Tos |
Muhax peeked around the corner and looked for Zag's eye contact. She lifted her brow as if to question whether they were done or not. Lifting her hand to motion for their departure, she whispered to Tibs, "The stairs are clear. Watch for our hunters, I will watch for our escape."
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
With the information gained, Tibs would slowly begin to fall back and make his way back to the stairs so they could escape back downstairs.
I'll take one of the boost die from Zag
Stealth: 1d12 + 2d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (4, 1) + (2) = 8
2 success. 0 advantage. Best roll ever.
Difficulty: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 2) = 10
2 failure. 1 threat.
Overall: 1 Threat, 0 Successes. I'm going to let that Threat go free.
Muhax Tos |
Muhax was eyeing the workers beyond the boxes, ushering the others to the point past the door. But it seemed that one of the workers may have caught sight of Tib's fancy hair bobbing and weaving past the boxes, "Come come, we must hurry now. Walking low may not be available to us now; the hunt calls."
Aralli K'Shein |
stealth: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (10) + (8, 3) = 21

Aralli follows Zagulo and Tibs back, worriedly glancing back at the workers.
DM Yorick |
Silly forums being broken threw me off.
Upstairs
As the group is leaving, Tibs bumps into one of the piles of crates, improperly stacked, and one tumbles off to the ground. Everyone holds their breath for a second, wondering if his mistake was noticed, but it's drowned out in the sounds of the Firespray's engines firing up.
Without waiting to be noticed, Aralli, Muhax, Tibs, and Zagulo begin making their way back down the flights of stairs, finding it much easier than their climb had been.
Are you going to the terrace you entered from, or to the ground? Also are you taking stairs the entire way or grabbing an elevator?
Outside
The girl seems to study Hou for a moment, despise not having any eyes, before speaking. "Nikto, yeah?" She asks, already knowing the answer. She cocks her head at Hou. "Do you know what they do here? They smuggle weapons to sell off-planet. They sell to Imperials, to Hutts, to Warlords, to anyone with enough creds. Kaa'to has black in his heart, even for this place."
She grins up at Huo. "You seem like a nice man, so I'll tell you a story." She speaks softly, but loud enough for both Huo and Amon to hear her. "Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was owned by a Hutt. Her people had been hunted near extinction and to him she was an exotic toy." Her grin quickly fades. "This Hutt, Morbiss, he was a slaver from Nar Shaddaa. Lots of black in his heart. He always had to have guards with him because so many people wanted to kill him."
"Eventually, they got what they wanted. A bomb was planted in his ship's docking bay. Killed Morbiss, his guards, countless slaves. Only two people survived: the little girl, and one of the Hutt's guards, a Nikto. She hid among the bodies, and followed the Nikto when he escaped. He had been wounded, lost a leg and part of an arm. The girl stowed away in his ship, and jumped off when he reached Coruscant."
She pauses, and looks at Huo. "I don't know who he was working for, or why he did it, but Nikto blew off his own leg to get his kill."
Muhax Tos |
Muhax instinctively goes for the stairs, descending them quickly. She would travel more slowly as soon as the roar of engine sounds quieted for her.
Resilience: 3d8 ⇒ (5, 1, 3) = 9
1 success, 1 blank, 1 advantage.
difficulty: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
2 blanks.
1 success!
Hou Wong Xia |
"He's got determination, I have to say." Hou Wong bows respectfully. "I thank you for your story. Don't you happen to know his whereabouts?"
Tiberius "Tibs" Carn |
Tibs would hiss oh so quietly, eyeing the fallen object, but the sounds of the ship firing up would cover up everything. Quickly, he'd make his way with the others back down the staircase, slipping his hand into his pocket and pulling out the small, handheld communicator.
"Amon, you there?" He'd whisper, quietly descending down hopefully back to the balcony where they had first entered through. "We'll need a pickup soon at the balcony. Real quick-like, no alarms sounded. We'll let you know when we're there."
Aralli K'Shein |
Aralli likewise follows Muhax.
Amon Toph |
Amon keeps his eyes at distance towards Hou and the running figure. He seems more worried about other figures who might come running out of it - and is getting progressively concerned about his companions inside the building.
Finally, the radio signals from Tibs, and he quickly answers, preparing to turn the vehicle back online.
Roger roger.
Can I see or hear anything? From the two conversing outside, I mean...?
Muhax Tos |
Muhax checks for incoming sounds on every other floor, her arms spread wide and her head turning about, but she continued to the balcony in time. Coming to a stop, she looks over the edge, motioning for Amon to lift the vehicle up, "We are well and he isn't here. We must hunt elsewhere." Once the vehicle was high enough, she'd plant a boot on the railing and stutter-jump onto the back. The others were not very far behind, so she would slide up the seat.
DM Yorick |
Can I see or hear anything? From the two conversing outside, I mean...?
Yeah I mean, they're loud enough / you're close enough / your ears are good enough / whatever that you can hear them both just fine. I'll give you a bit in case you want to respond before the others come out.
Amon Toph |
Pocketing the communicator, Amon rushed towards Huo and the girl, peg-legging with his cane as fast as he could. As he got closer to both - and being aware of what they were discussing - he spoke.
We have to go. - and looking at her - Hi, dear. Why don't you come with us? I know you know I have no ill intentions towards you, and maybe we can all help each other.
He kneeled down, holding his cane, trying to get to her height.
Certainly we still have a lot to talk. Probably with Nikto as well... And certainly with... Black-hearted... Kaa'to.
