Round 8

Alright, enough toying with you, time to finish you off!

2 d4, 1 d6, 2 d8, 1 d10, 2 d12, and 2 d20

d4 = auto-win
d6: 1d6 ⇒ 6

I've been waiting, but you seem to want to play around just throwing my dice back and forth. So lets see if I can "let" you have them.

0d4, 1d6, 0d8, 1d10, 0d12, 0d20

d4 = auto-lose
d6: 1d6 ⇒ 6
d8 = auto-lose
d10: 1d10 ⇒ 3
d12 = auto-lose
d20 = auto-lose

Just one left.

d6: 1d6 ⇒ 6

And apparently it's not going down without a fight.

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Round 9

Damn that's a stubborn d6!

2 d4, 1 d6, 2 d8, 2 d10, 2 d12, 2 d20

d4 = auto-win
d6: 1d6 ⇒ 5
d8 = auto-win
d10 = auto-win
d12 = auto-win
d20 = auto-win, rolling for crit (if my d6 loses, I can use the crit to replace it, but at best tie your 6) d20: 1d20 ⇒ 7

...grumble grumble...

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Round 10

2 d4, 0 d6, 2 d8, 2 d10, 2 d12, 2 d20
I'm going to use of my d20's for a d6; rolling all since i'm not sure where you'll put your extra d6

d4: 1d4 ⇒ 3
d6: 1d20 ⇒ 8, capped at 6
d8: 1d8 ⇒ 5
d10: 1d10 ⇒ 8
d12: 1d12 ⇒ 12
d20: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Woot! Finally a crit! My d8 looks the weakest, so I'm going to replace the 5 with:

d20/Crit: 1d20 ⇒ 19, capped at 8

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

d4: 1d6 ⇒ 1, capped at 4
d6: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Hey you can always save that for the rematch, I mean we still have 6 days till Zilt gets back.

We could do a second match, or I could retire as undisputed World Champion and we could have a fake fight. Not necessarily Hakak and Lleidr :) but if you other guys are checking in, we could do a team duel, or if someone has that map program, run us through a quick encounter. I'll give you points? Or hell, I'm a little jumpy, we can try us dueling. I don't think Lleidr'll last long but...

Yeah, this shouldn't last long :) But never give up, never surrender...

So, let's see, how about we start off 1d20 ⇒ 10 squares away from each other?

Round 1

hp: 25
4 of 4 1st lvl spells

Initiative: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

Round 1

hp: 37
Rage: 16 rounds
Current AC: 16

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

I'm pretty sure that means I'm going first.

Hakak starts to rage and charges Lleider.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 = 11
swing and a miss.

Current AC: 12

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Crap, I guess it would help to roll the correct initiative die...

Round 1

hp: 25
4 of 4 1st lvl spells

Lleidr's thankful for his halfling fearlessness as you roar and salivate and charge towards him with that big axe. As the blade buries itself in the ground next to him, Lleidr will move 5' to his left, shift to fighting defensively (-4 to hit, +2 AC, raising it to 19), and stab at you with the Fang of Erylium.

FoE: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

First blood!

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Round 2

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

Are we rolling Init every round or is that to just to make up for the first miss roll? Just in case we are rolling it every round:
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

hp: 35
Rage: 15 rounds
Current AC: 14

Attack roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
So close

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

If it's ok with you, I figured we'd roll initiative each round. With just the two of us, it makes things a little more exciting.

Round 2

hp: 25
4 of 4 1st lvl spells
-4 to hit
+2 AC (current AC 19)

Lleidr barely manages to avoid the next swing of your axe, but his small stature and constant bobbing and weaving keep him unscathed. If anything, his actions seem to become more erratic...

Lleidr will keep fighting defensively while attempting to feint (Bluff check, DC = 10+opponent's BAB+opponent's WIS mod or 10+Sense Motive bonus if you're trained in that skill).

Bluff/Feint: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Yikes, unless you have like a -4 WIS mod right now, I don't think that worked.

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Round 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

Sorry to tell you but the DC is 12.

Round 3
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Wow 3 in a row, now why can't I roll that for my attacks.

Lets try this again.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Eventually I have to hit you, it's the law of statistics.

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

I'm just happy to see you burning those 20's on initiative :) I know I'm definitely working against the odds.

Round 3

hp: 25
4 of 4 1st lvl spells
-4 to hit
+2 AC (current AC 19)

No changes to Lleidr's combat status. He will continue dodging around, looking for an opening to take another swipe at you.

FoE: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Round 4

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

Round 4
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Well you finally won an Init, I'm just going to put my attack down so it's ready for my turn.

hp: 34
Rage: 13 rounds
Current AC: 14

Attack roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Crit roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
As I said the law of averages.
Damage roll: 3d12 + 12 ⇒ (11, 8, 9) + 12 = 40
And that will be game.

Init +2|AC15(17)/Touch10/Flatfoot15|CMD 12||HP 13[13]| Fort:+4 ;Ref:+0 ;Wil:+5|Percept +9/Sense Motive +9. Longsword +10 1d8+4 CMB +6 Channel (4d6) l 0/[3] Male Half Varisian Human Cleric of Iomadae/1 (Favoured Class)

that will do it

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Damn! That's a mighty hit, but it doesn't go first :)

Round 4

hp: 25
4 of 4 1st lvl spells
-4 to hit
+2 AC (current AC 19)

As Hakak hauls back to swing his axe in what promises to be a devastating blow, Lleidr will take a 5' step away from him and produce a piece of wool. As Lleidr pronounces a magic word, the scar on his left palm flares and the the wool disappears.

Lleidr casts Daze. Make a WILL save (DC: 15) to avoid losing your actions this round.

It feels like I should lose my "fighting defensively" status here, and "casting defensively" didn't seem appropriate since I'm not in immediate melee with the 5' movement. So I guess my to hit is back to normal and my AC drops back to 17.

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Sorry still not safe.
Why the hell can't I roll like this in the game.

8th lvl Halfling (Rogue 6/Sorcerer 2); 22, 2'10", 32#; Str 8, Dex 20, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 16; AC: 21 (touch 17, ff n/a); hp 64; Initiative +5

Crap, I was all set to follow up with feints and acrobatics and, hell, maybe activating the monkey familiar for flanking and sneak attacking you...and then probably still getting chopped in half.

Maybe we should have a Stealth/Disable Device contest next :)

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Orc Barbarian/3 HP 20/37

That definitely would be to your advantage this time.

So, I'll delete this if it's not ok with anyone to talk about real life projects, but I'm kinda excited about this. One of my interests is writing comics, and today I got news about this re: the first story I sold about 4 years ago. indyplanet.com Those four preview pages? From a script I sold to Advent Comics and drawn by Bart Sears, who's worked on freakin' Batman and Captain America! Woohoo!

Beats the heck out of my latest real life paid project ... a set of VB Script files.

You know, i'm thinking that indy comics are potentially more fertile than mainstream titles, as far as dramatic license. Cause mainstream titles can't do really dramatic things as easily, like kill Superman. If they try, they just bring the character back (and pretty quickly at that), because the character has become an IP to license for merchandise.

FYI, I keep getting hard driving imminent failure warnings on my desktop PC, so there's a chance of a delay this weekend, or whenever this thing kicks the bucket.

My PC died yesterday, and it's going to be a few days before the next one arrives. It's got all my maps on it, so it'll probably be Weds before I can resume with the updates. Sorry guys!

Well, on the plus side you get a new computer :-)

Got the new machine today, and it's gonna take a day at least to restore all my files. Then, i've got to re-install software and make sure all the Windows updates are in.

Let's pick back on Friday. I'll have a map-less update posted before then, however. Most likely, by tomorrow evening.

My apologies guys, the restore was much slower than expected. It finally finished late yesterday, but I'm still installing software. I'm going to be out of town all day today, but I should have an update for you Sunday.

ugh ... i'm having technical difficulties. I've installed Java 7 on my new PC, and now Maptool won't load my old campaign file. Do you guys know if you have to still keep to Java 6 in order to run Maptool? I thought that issue had been resolved awhile back.

Back in business w/ maptool!
