Unhappily ‘stuck’ fighting in this horrible tableau, Femi makes the best of it, targeting the three opponents to the east. (pink, the hound, and the lemure I think). He casts Magic Missile with Toppling Spell boosting it with his Arcane Reservoir to caster level five. He targets each one with one missile, trying to slow their advance by tripping them.

”Oh yeah? We’re not going to fail here, it will be you meeting your maker this day, and he’s much less pleasant than mine!”

Sigh. Well, at least he did a little damage.

Myradil prepares his weapon, and Kalem his fists, while Femi spreads some damage around the enemies to the far end of the room, starting the fight off in earnest. He even manages to knock the Lemure onto the ground from the force of his bolt.

The Asmodeans move warily, avoiding the barbed wires where they can. Blue is so focused on avoiding them that he doesn't even think as he steps into Myradils range (provoked AoO). The rest can not quite make it to the party. Nox snarls as her hound is hit but the beast shakes off the blow and seems mostly unfazed for now.

Myradil and Brask both miss their opponents as Nox and her minions begin to take action against the Ravens. Nox mutters a few words and almost instantly the hellhound across the room seems to grow slightly and begins snarly and gnashing it's teeth as it moves in toward Elias. The Lemure is somewhat more slow, picking itself up off the ground at a snails pace and drifting forward just a few feet, seemingly missing any barbed wire more by chance then any actual avoidance. Nox, when she's done with her spell drifts further into the room.

Myradil misses his opponent again as he doubles back and out of reach, but Femi fires off another round of missiles, knocking blue and red to the floor even while Kalem attempts a trip of his own.

Elias takes a moment to survey the battlefield and decide his next action.

Myradil changes position and closes in on his target but fails to hit.

Femi continues his barrage and knocks Nox back to the ground, and for added insult mistakes her gender!

Kalem manages to sweep out a couple of the hellhounds legs, unfortunately it has 2 more and doesn't fall, that however, doesn't stop the fighter from landing a blow on the fiery hound, soliciting a loud yelp from the demon.

Brask takes advantage once again of Nox's prone position and just barely cuts through her armor for another successful strike.

Snarling, Nox spits in Brasks direction before disappearing in another flash of light and appearing on the other side of the room, near Kalem where she can stand up safely.

THe hellhound attempts another strike at Kalem, this time with the Lemure to back it up. Both attacks hit, the hellhounds bite leaves the skin on Kalems leg badly blistered. The Lemure claw is less threatening but Kalem is getting quickly surrounded.

Seeing his party wounded and in need of help, Elias steps up and channels energy again hitting both the hellhound and Lemure with a wave of negative energy that knocks them both to the ground with hardly a sound.

Nox takes the brunt of the damage and growls audibly as she stands up, but looks around the room and see's that she's quickly lost the battle.

"The Thrune's will hear of this. You'll be dead before long!" She shouts at you all before another flash of magical energy, leaving the Ravens in a room with dead or dying enemies, barbed wires and a number of shelves in various states of disarray. Though it's hard to say for sure, Nox seems to have fled and does not disturb you further over the next couple minutes.

Searching the room they're in nets the Ravens a number of tomes that, though particularly uninteresting, should be worth a fair amount at the market. 900 gp

Further investigations into the compound turns up another handful of rooms and a gorgeous half-built amphitheater, complete with hanging lanterns, babbling brook and a gravel path through a resplendent garden and into a book covered knoll at the far end.

The books you find here, at first seem like any other, but it becomes quickly apparent that these are soul tomes created when a creature is attacked by a scrivenite. Within these tomes is the collective knowledge and experience of the entire Order of Sacred Archivists up until they were slaughtered by Thrune's men.

He worries for quite a long time as they go through the complex. When they reach the Soul Tomes, he very nearly sheds a tear.

"So it's true. They're all dead. I had hopes..."

He leafes through a random book, both marveling at the detail while being saddened by the loss.

"We should gather these up and get out of here before Nox brings Thrune reinforcements." he suggests.

Kalem doesn't find anything else of interest in the hideout as the Ravens pick up their things and take their leave. The barbed wires continue to hold their grisly prize as the party skirts the edges of the room and back up through the old museum.

Stepping back into the daylight, the revolutionaries find that it is still just around noon, and the day is still theirs to do as they please. It's also a new week, and by the time they wander through the busy city and make it back to the Wasp's Nest, they find that a number of their agents are awaiting their next set of orders.

However given your rough state, they quickly come to your aid and usher you into the Wasps Nest. It's quite full in there, what with all of your teams, Laria, Rexus and a number of trusted supporters. It's not usually this busy, but when word had gotten out that you were involved in another mission at the Museum, everyone was interested to hear about your experience and they've been eagerly awaiting your arrival.

Rexus begins pouring over the soul tomes while the rest help wrap your wounds and ask you a multitude of questions. Only Laria waits patiently next to a plate of scones and some coffee she's set out for everyone.

"Did you find anyone from the order?"
"How many Thrunes were down there?"
"You fought Nox? I heard she's tough!"
"Do you think she recognized any of you?"

GM Xynen:
Will you permit Admonishing Ray (link) as a spell in your campaign? Technically it can be used with my favorite metamagic, Toppling Spell, but I’ll likely never do so as it would make it a third level spell and I suspect I’m going to prefer fireball or the like… but it fits with my character better than Scorching Ray. But I’ll take Scorching Ray if the Admonishing Ray isn’t approved. Just let me know - thanks!

GM Xynen, am I correct that we can’t add to our supporters until it drops below 20 at our rank? Assuming that’s the case…

Femi speaks up and makes a few suggestions for the week. ”Our treasury is low again, and we don’t have much to fill it. We could sell the small library we found, not the Soul Tomes of course, the other texts. They’re worth 900gp. We could put it into the revolution, but I’d like to secure that against our individual needs and group purchases I think.”

”So we should have the Fushi Sisters, at least, see what they can earn this week. Maybe have Harley’s Merchants do a little as well to put us ahead for next week. I dunno. We might also want to start doing a few things on the sly too.”

He takes a deep breath, ”I know we said we wanted to do this all above board, so I’m fine if this is the wrong direction for us, but a few thieves and brigands could help us hide supplies throughout the city, and eventually help by sabotaging Thrune. Get those bastard from both ends. I dunno though, it could drag down the whole operation into the gutter, so if we go that route, we should be careful.”

”Finally, I’d like to know what Nox is up to now - maybe get a sense of what she’s going to retaliate with, and when. So I suggest we send Pavus out there to learn what we can.”

Here’s what I suggest for this week but, as always, happy to change it up if folks want to do something different.
- Earn Gold (Fushi Sisters)
- Earn Gold (Harley's Merchant Coalition)
- Gather Information (Pavus & Co.) (to find out what Nox is doing now/planning against us)

I'm okay with Femi's suggestions for the Ravens. Brask wouldn't have the mind for this logistical stuff anyways and has no better suggestions. Except for money for our operation is good. :)

Brask nods his head. "That sounds like a good course of action, Femi. I will help however I can."

Brasks answers questions as best as he can, especially the ones about Nox. "I know for a fact she's seen my face. I had a good look in her eyes as I drove my blade through her." He grimaces. "The wound didn't stick. Healed up right away. Maybe she's not human?"

I know of some mortal magics that allow the caster to teleport like she did, but they all require such immense power that the user would have been able to crush us all effortlessly with their other gifts. But it should not matter. Many beings when looking at one of another race only see the race, and the clothing. If we are required to disguise you, we should possess the ability to do so. Also, I too agree with Femi's suggested course of actions."

If there's time, I think Elias should also have another meeting with his prayer group. They deserve to know what he's up to if his actions might bring down another pogrom on their heads. Dunno if you want to run that, or just know I'm doing it, or what.

As the Raven's discuss their plans for the coming days and regale their followers with their fight through the museum Rexus continues reading through the soul tomes, making pretty good progress.

By the time most of the crews have left to follow their orders though, Rexus' eye's are red and tears are starting to stream down his face. Laria continuously aks him what's wrong but he shakes his heads and keeps reading, eyes scanning the pages faster than before. Each page he flips causes a new sob to come from his throat but he continues reading. At some point Vendalfek appears behind him and tilts his head sideways.

"Porcia Victocora? Who is that?" He doesn't stay still long enough to get his answer as Laria shoo's him away. "Damned dragon..." He grunts.

Rexus finally begins crying in earnest, but collects himself as much as he can and explains.

"This, this is my mother's soul tome..." Wiping away a few tears he looks at each of you gratefully. "It's not easy to read, but there's a lot here that I think might be important, but this to me seems like the biggest red flag."

He flips a few pages and reads a bit from the soul tome before summarizing out loud. "Basically, the Order kept a number of potentially dangerous books with powerful information that they would only permit individuals of note to view. My mother notes here that a certain Book of the Damned is not only missing, but has been restricted from viewing for a number of years. Only one man has been allowed to see the book, a Trailblazer Huni. It seems he convinced the order to let him see it, the book disappeared from the shelves, and they were all slaughtered not long after."

He flips through a few more pages but closes the book in disgust. "My mothers tome doesn't explain what might be in the book, but it might be worth looking in to, if we get a chance. I seem to be saying that a lot these days, no?" He laughs but there's no really joy in it. "I'm sorry gentlemen, but I need to go lay down for a bit."

Still openly weeping, Rexus takes his leave to his place above the coffee shop. Leaving the Raven's to their own devices.

I forgot to mention this, and it may change your plans for the coming week, but the Rebellions max rank is now 10, which means you can recruit once more. Let me know if you're going to change it up or go with the same plan.

The next few days are quiet, and allow the Raven's some time to themselves. There are rumors about a fight taken directly to Barzillai himself, but nothing is confirmed, and the Hellknights don't seem to mobilize at all. In any case, the name Silver Raven's seems to be whispered more and more among the streets of Kintargo.

How would you like to spend your free time Ravens?

"I would love to find out what precipitated that slaughter and exact some justice." he takes a sip of coffee, "Or even revenge." He's clearly moved by Rexus' tears.

"I suggest we do some research and see what we can find out about this Trailblazer Huni. Then we should meet them face to face and see what their involvement might well have been."

Femi doesn't have much cash, so no scrolls for now. He will spend the next few days pouring through the books. He's respectful, but incredibly curious. When he's not reading, he wants to investigate this Huni character with the group.

If the party agrees - he'll start with the bars and pubs in the nicer areas of town, assuming that the person must be well off. "I don't know if they are or not, but gotta start somewhere, might as well start somewhere nice." For two or three days he asks around, learning what he can about them.
