If Kalem will have him, Myradi will participate in Kalem's training.

It quickly becomes apparent that Myradil has no formal combat training but knows a variety of useful hunting techniques that are surprisingly relevant.

Kalem is surprised at Myradil's capacity to learn some basic fighting principles.

"Right, its about the eyes! Focus on where they're aiming!"

He was even more surprised when they began sparing 2 on 2. While Kalem was able to hold his own by sheer tenacity, he was surprised by Myradil's technique. He moved in sync with his partner, working together in ways where Kalem couldn't react in time. He was also good at lunging at him from the corner's of his peripheral vision, shortening his reaction time.

After sparring, Kalem walked away with a new bruise and a new respect for the man.

Harley and Forvian both respond eagerly to their new assignments. Harley seems particularly eager to cash in a few big favors around the city that will allow his small coalition to grow their influence. He's provided with a small sum for bribes or anything else he may need. Forvian is also paid to get better gear and new tools to assist the Ravens. He promises to better train the Black Feathers so they can pay back the rebellion by saving more enslaved soldiers like they had done for him. The Fushi sisters are out the door almost as soon as they're asked to go back out on the streets, eager to be out of the Wasp's Nest after a week or so of downtime. Even Treep, who has learned that her new injury inspires larger pity donations, eagerly rushes out into the city.

The first day or so of the week move by slowly, without much excitement. Kalem learns that the Devil's Nursery is improving, slowly. It's only been a couple weeks, and there's much to be done, but the Tieflings in the slums are relearning to pride themselves on good work and resilience. Many of the more common supporters are eager for the fighting advice he provides, seeing themselves as something of a militia to be called upon if needed.

It's roughly mid week when Vendalfek starts shouting excitedly, waking all of you up as he hovers above each of your cots, wings flapping as fast as he can.

"Talking rat!" He shouts. "You never said you had a talking rat! How exciting!" His head twitches side to side, waiting for someone to join in with his revelry. "Tried to command me! Silly rat! Silly talking rat!"

"Ahh, but we do have someone causing trouble, don't we. Another clue!" Femi is clearly pleased they're getting another hint without more harm done.

He turns to Vendalfek, "Vendalfek, what happened? Where were you? What time was it? Was anyone else around?"

He scarcely breathes as he waits for the answers to his first barrage of questions. He takes out his notes and looks for ways to tick other names off the list...

He searches poorly, missing a few areas though he criss-crosses the room many times in his haste.

Frustrated, he at least consults his list and crosses off any names of folks who were not around and could not be the caster.

Femi gets an extreme sense of Deja Vu as he casts detect magic and looks around the Nest. He's reminded of tracking Vendalfek back at Clenchjaw's Tavern, able to sense the presence of an illusion spell, but not able to pin point it's location.

The fairie dragon looks at Kalem and flips in the air excitedly. "Rat disappeared! Invisible!" He does the same, and the tiefling can here his voice throughout the nest. "Maybe I can find it if it can't see me either!"

For a while there's some commotion around the room as the dragon searches the room and knocks things off the shelves. Suddenly he reappears and shouts "Spell!" at the same time Femi notices the illusion aura has stopped moving, unfortunately not in time to call it out before a fiendish ape appears next to brask and makes an attack on the surprised Half-Orc! Kalem, now conscious, starts to sit up before grasping his side in pain. He looks down to see the glow of healing still taking effect. He gets up with a grunt of pain.

"What's happened?"

For his turn, Kalem will wake up, be confused, stand up, and use marital flexibility to dodge.

The imps responds to the questions, her voice coming from a different direction then before as she moves around the Wasp's Nest.

"What would you do, if you were bored? Stuck in one place, unable to move? Wouldn't you try to liven things up?" She says to Femi. When Elias speaks, she laughs. "Your elf is right! I did nothing you couldn't have prevented yourselves. The price for my service? You hold my contract. All I ask is that you make use of me, let me leave the building, instead of being confined here."

Myradil:
You sense that the imp is telling the truth. She is bored and she is willing to work for you to relieve that boredom, but you also sense that she in now way regrets the things she's done to hamper the lives of the Silver Ravens.

Myradil ignores Kalem for the moment and relaxes the grip on his spear a bit, although not willing to fully put it down yet as he speaks in no direction in particular. "That does seem like a better deal than the current situation. My name is Myradil, what's yours?"

"Did we have any papers like that?"

Elias, after some internal calculation, releases the black energy of his spell before leaning in to quietly reply to Brask.

"To my knowledge, no, though such a contract need not always be written on paper. It could just as well be spoken word or given oath that binds the fiend."

"Blosodriette." Comes the imps voice, once again from a different direction than before.

"Of course you have my contract! You've had it every since you picked it up from that damnable slaughterhouse! I thought I was finally free until I realized none of you could read, and I traded one prison for another."

Ahaaa!

The lights dawn on Femi as he realizes what's going on. As he's not too concerned about the use of, ah, questionable, tools in the pursuit of their goal, he's for the use of the imp.

"We shall not keep you imprisoned - no creature should suffer that fate. We will either use you, and your abilities, or we will release you from service I think. For now, allow us to discuss it privately please. Do nothing further to harm us, and we will give you our answer before the day is out."

He suggests to the rest that we take a walk, to some park or alley to discuss further, out of the earshot of Blosodriette...

Presuming we get some distance from the imp and can talk freely, "I think we use the little lady. An invisible, flying temptress could come in very handy. At the very least she could spy on our enemies, and perhaps even sew some discord among them all the while learning things for us."

"What do you all think?"

"I think it's too late to be free of the infernal. It has information on us that would cause...issue, were it to be released of it's contract. That is aside from any moral issue we might have at unleashing a manifestly evil being into the world. We could attempt to destroy it, but failure might cause it to go back to it's tricks. Loathe as I am to agree, using it to our advantage would seem the wisest course."

Kalem is still rubbing his sore spot. Been a while since he felt a slam that powerful.

"To be honest, after seeing what it can do, I'm thrilled to have it on our side. But that's contingent on it being on our side. Not sure if we can trust it, but as its come out to formally address us, perhaps we should give weight to that positive gesture?."

The Ravens, presumably, return to the Wasp's Nest and inform Blosodriette of their decision to welcome her on board. The imp reveals her self, once again hiding as a rat beneath one of the abandoned cots.

She greets the group with a nervous smile. "Good. Good, just tell me what you need me to ferret out, and I'll do it."

Blosodriette provides a +1 bonus on all Secrecy roles, but as long as she is a member of the silver ravens, other members find her presence uneasy and she gives a -1 to all loyalty rolls.

The rest of the day is relatively uneventful. Rexus concludes that the secret page you had all found earlier in the month must be the contract that binds her, though the imp is also unfamiliar with the word to reveal it's contents. She explains that she was contracted to members of the Sarini family, and technically still is, but given the vast amount of years she was trapped in the slaughterhouse she's not even sure they still remember her. She also confesses to compelling Morgar to sabotage the outfit, absolving the man of his misdeeds, though the imp shows little regret.

Ravens, you are all now level 3! Besides leveling up, what are you doing with the rest of you week?

Brask spends time sulking around the base, lounging out of his armor. Something seems to be bothering him, and he spends a few hours each day just exercising.
Probably only a dc 10 sense motive to notice somethings wrong, but he wont go out of his way to ask for help.

Femi spends the next several days excitedly scribing a few scrolls. He’s eager to test out his new skills, and is often seen grinning like a banshee as he pours over his magical inks and fine vellum.

Over the next three days, he spends his days scribes the following, only really stopped by his dwindling cash supply.

- Detect Secret Doors (CL 2) 25gp x2
- Grease (CL 1) 12.5gp x2
- Magic Weapon (CL 2) 25gp x2
- Infernal Healing (CL 1) 12.5gp x4
200gp spent.

Toward the end of the week, he finally notices Brask’s unusual sullenness. At some point, he’ll work himself up to ask the big man what’s up. ”Hey, Brask, you seem a little, I dunno, off. Is the imp getting to you? What’s wrong?”

Brask will sigh, sitting down. "I... Guess I feel like I havent been very helpful to the cause." he admits, rubbing his eyes. "Been trying to figure out how to contribute in a meaningful way. Up until now I've been fighting alongside you, but all I've been able to do is be a shiny target. My combat skills need improving. I'm afraid there will be a point where I am powerless to do anything but watch everyone fall around me."

He gestures to the sweat-soaked towel. "just... Working out my problems with some exercise. And you can't ever be TOO strong, you know?"

To clarify, he's been a bit agitated he typically can't hit the broad side of a barn. I was thinking about the in-character implications of having terrible luck DESPITE being a destined bloodline.

Kalem spends his time recuperating from the fight with the bound entity. He converses with the Kenku when they're around, and share stories from his childhood. Its been a while since he had talked to people openly about his past life, growing up here. Other tieflings would see it as weird, but the Kenku, who must have some of the same problems, could relate to being so incredibly....different.

Femi laughs, perhaps rudely, at his friends discomfort. He doesn't mean to be rude of course, but he cannot see the peril.

"Who do you think I hide behind you lug? You're enormously helpful you know. Besides, you'll hit your stride, you've just had a run of bad luck. You'll see. They shall sing songs of your deeds - most assuredly!"
