Male Wargorged Fighter 1

Bludgeon follows Mirana closely and keeps his mouth shut, but is ready to draw his warhammer should battle arise to defend his companions against the Emerald Claw.
These were my enemies just a few years ago. I yearn to give them what they deserve, perhaps they're about to give me a reason to smash their skulls in a few seconds.

If Mirana commands it, or if the Emerald Claw men draw weapons or cast obvious offensive spells, Bludgeon won't hesitate to retaliate.
I just wish there still be war, so I wouldn't be restrained by this false peace.

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Crap totally misread things on my part. I ment we were boarding the Storm's Glory, not the Emerald Claw. Sorry for the mix up.

Mirana Falataur looks to the others and says, "The Emerald Claw may be our rivals in this but we shall not start the conflict between us. If they get in our way we shall defend ourselves. I shant cause problems in the city by participating in a brawl in the docks."

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

"Understood, commander"
Clear orders, as expected. I guess the halfling was wrong about this.
It's not simple to tell when a warforged is relaxed, but certainly those orders helped in keeping Bludgeon less threatening and pull his hand away from the wharammer handle.

As your group approaches the sky ship. You see the group of Emerald Claw is about 18 strong. Zil whispers to Mirana Do not engage the Claw, here they will kill you. Then I will have to find a new group.
The group of the Claw before is well armed, but no one has there swords out. You also see a Half Elf a member of the ship arguing with a Commander of the Claw. The Commander stands at six foot 9 inches. He is broad shouldered and his armor is shining. On his left hip is a war hammer, there is khyber shard attached to it. The Commander looks at your group. So this must be the sell swords that are taking up my space. He looks at Mirana and says Tell me Elf how does this gnome get your loyalty? Is he bedding you?

Genderqueer Changeling Beguiler 1

Such low insults from such a tall man, how curious yet completely predictable. I wonder how the elf will hold herself

Nix begins to stand tall, hoping to strike an intimidating pose before realizing that he is still dressed in his common clothes from his guise as a serving wench. He deflates slightly and waits to see what happens, prepared to cast at a moment's notice.

Female Elf Duskblade 1

She looks to the commander gives a slight smirk saying "Oh no, he's made me quite an offer for my services. He is a rather respectful businessman to be sure and has treated us with the up most respect, unlike yourself. You of course should know the call of coin and profit blurs racial lines. But don't think you can bribe our group to go onto your side. I honor my deals and we have an iron-clad agreement that I intend to fulfill. Now I an hoping we can be respectful rivals and not engage in undue conflict. I am sure there is plenty of profit in adventure for all of us to not step on each other's toes."

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

Bludgeon stands at Mirana's side, waiting for orders and ready to protect her commander should troubles arise.
Rules of engagement are simple enough. Don't attack first but we shall defend ourselves.
The one who talked will be my first target for insulting my commander, should battle arise. He won't miss his teeth.

The older gentleman remains quiet, seeking not to draw attention to himself.

Male Halfling Bard

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

The small halfling steps next to Mirana and begins to speak, in a calm soothing voice, but sharp and to the point. His eyes seem cold and focused compared to the warmth they showed in the tavern.

"Good afternoon gentlemen. Please refrain from insults in the presence of a lady. I do apologize that you were not able to go along on this journey, but we have a very important appointment to attend to. You clearly have us outnumbered, but for no real reason at all. If you wish to chase after us do so on your own time, in your own airship. Until then please let us through so we may all be on our way."

I really hope this works, I'd rather not have to call the watch

The Commander laughs at Mirana speech to her and ignores the halfling. Elf if I wanted this boat I could take it now. I will allow you and your group to go ahead of us. My name is Commander Tywin Bloodstone, I will see you in Stormreach don't fear.
Bloodstone turns on his heel and orders his men to leave. The group begins to leave and as they march off you hear Zil. I am glad that is overwith.
Zil boards the Airship then everyone else. The ship leaves Sharn soon after.

Cue Raiders of the Ark travel music

The Ship travels its three day journey without incident. As the Airship makes it docking at Stormreach. You can see the city a tall statue is the standing in the harbor area. The statue is simply known as the Emperor. As the ship docks. Zil gathers the group together.
You will go to Wavercrest Tavern and wait for a message from another associate of mine. He should be here in three days. Please feel free to explore Stormreach. I have voucher here this will be your credit here, use it to buy what you need. I wish you all happy hunting and look forward to seeing you again. He hand the voucher to Mirana and then leaves. The group is on the dock in the Harbor.

Where do you guys want to go?

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana Falataur looks upon storm-reach from the airship. She had never been to Stormreach, the city on the frontier of Xen'Drik but knew it reputation as the last port before Xen'Drik and a stopping area for most travelers who wish to go there. Indeed she had heard that this city was built on the ruins of an old city of Giants and indeed still bore some architecture for that time period.

After exiting the ship and entering the harbor, she looks to the rest of the group and says, "The first order of business is to find the Wavecrest Tavern. If they have an inn portion of the tavern, we should arrange to get some rooms there. Once we've settled in I am sure we could occupy our time here in Stormreach. Rather than relax for the next three days I would recommend seeking out some kind of task to put our skills to use. I am sure there is a number of mercenary duties we could perform in order to get some additional coin. Stormreach as far as I heard has quite a lot of work for adventurers."

Male Halfling Bard

"How about you follow me instead? There is a House Jorasco enclave not too far from here. Unless you would like a little piece of home Mirana. I would seek out Thaendyr's Rest if I were you. That is near this here harbor so I'm sure you will find it soon enough. It will be a bit refreshing. Mr. Bludgeon I'm sure you will follow Mirana. In the meantime I am going to see my family. Nix and Eldramin are welcome to join me if you'd like."

Simon breathes in the sea air, looks up at the Leaky Dinghy, and chuckles.

I am home my dear. I will see you soon enough, but it won't be for too long.

"Oh and don't jump when you run into giants, sahaugin, or drow. They are not exactly common, but common enough. Live here long enough, like my beautiful wife, and you might not speak their language but you can certainly rattle off a few swears in them."

Simon begins heading off the docks towards the enclave, talking with a few of the locals, making small talk with the locals, all the while with a smile on his face.

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

During the 3 days trip, the warforged chose a moment to talk alone with Mirana, and warns her about some curious information he was granted during his creation.
"There is an entry in my mind about a mysterious flying city from Xen'Drik. It seems that the city could be the key to make the next generation of warforged, whatever that means. This new generation could challenge someone called the Inspired. My memory ends here, commander.
I do not know why I should know this, but I treated this information as confidential, so I waited this moment to inform you alone. I will report to the others as well if these are your orders, commander."

When the group finally arrives to Stormreach, Bludgeon is quiet as he is used to, happy to follow Mirana's lead.
I don't see the wisdom in splitting up right away...
"I'll stay with Mirana, but shouldn't we agree on a location and time to gather, if we are going to split?"

Mercenary duty is good enough. Earned money means better equipment for the mission

Female Elf Duskblade 1

"I would be partial to visiting House Jorasco. Indeed if we can save money on an inn room by taking part in your hospitality I certainly would accept it. As for splitting up, I would rather we stay together as a group. There is the danger of the Emerald Claw, who very well may strike us unprepared if we divide up our numbers."

She looks to Bludgeon and says, "Still if we do split Bludgeon, I do agree we should think of a meeting place. House Jorasco sounds like a place we could gather once we've got our business done in the city."

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

"saving and earning coin sounds great to me. I'm no stranger to frugality, but the ride from Aundair as well as this glyph book have set me back a good deal of coin.." Eldramin says.

As the group walks, he will keep an eye out for some giant glyphs to compare to the book later, preferably with some wine and near a fire.

Male Halfling Bard

Simon stops walking and turns around to the rest of the group.

"Okay that sounds alright, as long as I can arrange it with the family. I might have to cut my day at the spa. Well for starters I should give you some tips, let's call them guidelines for not getting shanked."

"Guideline for not getting shanked number 1, do NOT go out after dark. It may seem friendly, but the city is filled with more gangs and crooked guards than you can imagine."

"Guideline for not getting shanked number 2, do not trust the guards with anything more complicated than a spoon. If you absolutely need help the Iron Watch is your best bet for staying alive, Mr. Bludgeon you might like them."

"And G.L.F.N.G.S. number 3, do not take anything from anyone unless you buy it, trade for it, or read all the fine print on any contract. This is a town of thieves and cut throats, all of which could care less about you and your obligations."

Simon stops counting on his fingers, looks up as if trying to remember anything else he might have forgotten, smiles, and starts talking again.

"Well I think that about covers it. I think we should be on our way then. I can't wait to see the look on my wife's face when I show up home early. Even if just for a bit."

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

GLFNGS #1: Curfew at dusk. Understood.
GLFNGS #2: Guards are not allies nor enemies. Iron Watch is potential ally, more informations required.
GLFNGS #3: Legal trade allowed only. Understood.
GLFNFS #3a: Populace might be hostile. Keep truncheon ready at all times. Understood.

Bludgeon listens to the advices carefully, then he says.
"I require very little accomodations, just a place to stay. If commander Mirana agrees I could share her room and stand guard at the door, wherever that room will be."

The warforged looks in the direction of the Tavern Zil mentioned.
"I would still make our presence known at the Wavecrest Tavern earlier rather than later though, so we don't miss our contact, and check for him maybe twice per day."

After some moments of silence, pondering the options at hand, he finally inquires.
"What is this Iron Watch? I've never been to Stormreach, but it sounds like they could prove reliable and trustworthy if we are of use to them during our stay in this... town of thieves and cutthroats. Perhaps they could offer us the job you're mentioning, commander Mirana?"

Genderqueer Changeling Beguiler 1

Your advice is well taken Simon, and its value extends beyond Stormreach. I cannot guarantee I will abide entirely of course, but I will be mindful. Once we have settled in at Simon's home, should we be allowed, I'd like to explore the city a bit. Try to learn anything I can about our rivals' activities of late. Any who would like to join me are welcome of course, and Simon, any advice you can give as to where to listen most closely would be greatly appreciated.

I'm busy for the next two days and might not get a chance to post in, so here is my Gather Information roll. If anyone decides to come along, or if Simon can help out, I guess we can just do an aid another check: Gather Information: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5. Well, not getting much with that, oh well

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana Falataur nods and says, "I agree. I myself would like to explore this city a bit more to get the ley of the land and take in the sights. Still I also would like to do something productive while I'm here. A small job of some kind such as a monster hunt outside the gates might be just what we need to get the blood pumping."

As Mirana speaks her mind a tall looking man comes to your group. He is kind of fat and greasy looking. He says to you Baudry Cartamon is my name and if you are looking to make coin. I have a job for you and your crew. Recently a half giant by name of Martook made off with a very important gem. He went into the "Waterworks" it is the sewer system the giants built. I will pay well and have some extra gems, a book or two that show ancient relics. What do you say?

Female Elf Duskblade 1

"Oh you have been robbed good sir. That is unfortunate to hear. Well I suppose we could do what we can to find your important property. When and if we find this half giant and this gem it shall be returned to you. Which drain was the thief last headed to?"

Sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Male Halfling Bard

Simon reaches into one of his belt pouches and grasps the copper wire and quickly points to Mirana and looks away down the docks.

Simon casts a 0 level spell, Message targeting Mirana.

Elven Message:
"I understand your desire to work, but maybe this Cartamon would be willing to negotiate after we check in at the enclave and tavern. Rest your sword arm on your hip if you can hear me."

If Baudry, or any member of the party, can see my lips moving he will have to one read my lips, and second read my lips in Elven.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

Eldramin remains silent on the issue.

don't know elven, so no reading lips for me

When a quiet moment arises (not particular in need for secrecy, so any moment, really), Eldramin will inquire of Simon, "Where might one gain access to information of a scholarly bent regarding a wide variety of topics relevant to these shattered lands?"

mention of the waterworks has me wanting to play DDO again haha

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

Bludgeon looks down on the man, silently waiting for his commander to come up with a decision.
As she said, it is very easy to find adventurers job in this city.
The warforged ignores Simon's magic chattering, trusting his companions for the use of magic.

yeah same here, I wonder if we'll actually encounter any kobolds in there

Male Halfling Bard

Simon looks up at the older gentleman, the twinkle in his eye is back.

"Hmm, I know the church of the Host here has a lot of random artifacts and journals. They are a little... odd here, even by my standards could be considered heretical. Regardless it is a great source of knowledge, while a little focused on"

He pauses mid sentence, realizing there is an opportunity to surprise the older human.

"How about I let you decide on that one. You can find them in the Forgelight district, not the temple district. I'm going to head over there to pay my respects to the Host afterward. Other than that there should be a few libraries around."

You know I've been thinking the exact same thing.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

"I suppose I shall follow you that way, then."

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Yea, I have played DDO before so I know Stormreach has a good deal of quest areas for adventurers. :-)

Well mister Cartamon. I am interested in helping you with your problem, but I need to know the timeline you are willing to negotiate. We may not get to searching the Waterworks for a few hours as some of our travelling companions have some errands to run and I myself have to get settled with accommodations for my stay. So how urgent is your need for this gem?

Cartamon looks at you a little bit upset and then says. My errand can wait for a bit. I had hoped that you could go now, but I understand. Pray tell where are you going maybe I could be of help to assist you in your errands.

Female Elf Duskblade 1

"Well I myself have few errands beyond getting a place to stay which should not take too long to arrange as I have a contact here in the city among one of the houses. But I have other companions of my adventuring group who have their own errands to run that could take some time. If this Half-Giant is a formidable foe and if there is other monsters we may not know about down in the Waterway, we would be better off with greater numbers rather than just myself and my colleague Bludgeon here."

Well if you can't help me out maybe I can ask the Emerald Claw, as I see them approaching. I am sure they would be glad to work and after all the gem that was taken is for them. It has something to do with the new flying city the town is talking about. Cartamon says to you. As soon as he is done. Commander Bloodstone approaches, with his company of men.
We meet again Elf, I am glad to see you made it here. I would of hated for you and your brave crew to failed to make it here. He says to you.

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana when hearing the Emerald Claw being mentioned begins to suspect he is trying to gode her into a trap. She says to him, "Well the Emerald Claw might be able to help you. They are reasonably proficent as a fighting company. Just expect them to charge you quite a price for their services. Good day to you Mister Cartamon."

Male Halfling Bard

Once again using my message spell to communicate while I am near to Mirana

Elven:
"Wise decision Miss Falataur, there are plenty of other opportunities to work. Either the house will have jobs, and will most likely expect me to work while we stay, or other job opportunities will pop up. If anything we can get work at the arena."

Simon stops his whispering, takes a sip from his water skin, a deep breath and goes back to his mutterings.

Elven:
"Regardless, we just got off a three day journey, let us all head to the enclave and split up from there. At least we can unpack and have a bite to eat. I still have to show the gentleman to the temple."

The group makes is it way to the Enclave without any further encounters. As the group makes it way into the Respite, You are greeted by a halfling who says hello. The hanging gardens catch your attention. There are multiple tiers to the enclave area. You also see floating structures here in the Respite area. It is not hard to imagine a floating city here in Xen'drik. Simon offers to show you around the area from this point.

Simon lead on

Male Halfling Bard

Ah it's good to be home

Simon takes off his duster and throws it over his shoulder revealing the dragonmark on his right forearm.

"Ah hello, you must be new here. Can you fetch me someone who does more business around here, I need food and a place to stay for a few days. Oh and my wife. I thought I could surprise her a bit."

With his coat off, Simon stands in the enclave in a pair of slacks, blue collared shirt, and some basic shoes. Turns around to the group.

"Okay now don't get your hopes up too high. This isn't a house Ghallanda resort so while there might be some rooms to spare it won't be anything fancy. Oh and Eldramin I believe you might be able to use that glyph book around here, from what I hear this enclave used to belong to the giants of Xen'Drik."

I didn't have any stats for Simon's wife but I figured either a bard or an adept, dragonmarked like Simon. Simon has an arranged marriage but was lucky enough to be partnered with someone he has grown to truly love over the past 7 years.

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana looks at the sight of the household and looks impressed. "Impressive indeed these gardens are. They grow so wild and untamed even within a city such as this."

Mirana looks to the Dragonmark and says to Simon, "That is quite the Dragonmark you have there Simon. I have heard such marks mean a great destiny is upon you in life. I do find it strange though that despite the elves being a long lived race, none of my kind bear the dragon-marked heritage. Only Half-Breeds of certain houses have been shown to develop such things. Why that is, I know not."

Male Halfling Bard

Before getting indoors Simon walks over to some flowers, leans over and smells them, picks a few and continues on. Leading the party indoors he looks up at Mirana, showing a face with a large grin.

"Nobody has any idea what a great destiny means, although I think I might have met mine. While rare, I have heard stories of Aerenal elves with the dragonmark belonging to House Phiarlan. But I have also heard stories of them losing favor with your Undying Court due to such a mark and then fleeing to Khorvaire for safety."

He traces some of the lines on his own mark with the thumb of his left hand, following the lines with his eyes.

"Count your blessings that you are not one of the marked. Arranged marriages, house politics, etc. I am lucky indeed, the Host has blessed me with a wonderful wife, a good home, and the wonderful circumstances of my upbringing. We are trying to make the house happy, after all children of dragonmarked parents tend to continue to hold the markings."

As Simon is finished cleaning to Mirana. A middle age Halfling comes to you. It is Verdan a leader of in your house. He says to you. I see you brought guests Simom. Please tell me who they are

Male Halfling Bard

Taking a deep breath Simon speaks quickly and concisely.

"Ah it is good to see you too Verdan. Let's see, introductions at least quick ones. The elf is Mirana, she's our leader. The warforged is her subordinate Bludgeon, the other elf is Nix our spy, and the older gentleman is a scholar Eldramon. I am part of this adventuring party for a Mr. Zil Feywind. You should know him, you sent me to Sharn for that quest into Xen'drik."

Seemingly back to his jovial self as opposed to the serious and starry eyed philosopher in the garden he continues.

"I am in town for about 3 days, I was wondering if we could get room for that time. We can work to pay it off. Obviously I can work in the house, but the others can do any miscellaneous jobs you have. Killing whatever pops up in the basements and whatnot since they always need cleaning out from the creepy crawlies."

I'm pretty sure I would know about how many undead pop up in Respite despite being the healers guild enclave.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

"ah, fortuitous it is then to have the opportunity to stay in a place with intelligent folk, rather than a dingy inn. And with books and glyphs and perhaps even target practice..."

Genderqueer Changeling Beguiler 1

As the group enters the enclave Nix's eyes dart back and forth, instinctively taking in any viable entrances, exits, or valuables. He gives his head a quick shake to dispel these intrusive thoughts. I'm here for more than a quick profit, I can't make whatever enemies I please. If I can forge strong friendships here, maybe I'll have a reason to stay

As the group continues there is a short confusion that is quickly resolved when a well-dressed halfling approaches and addresses Simon. Simon begins to introduce the group but before he is able to introduce Nix the changeling strides forwards and interrupts, "I am Vulperos, a humble wanderer. Originally I hail from Aerenal, I'm sure you can see that I'm no horseman, but it has been some time since I saw my home shores. I was fortunate enough to meet Simon hear on my travels and now, I see, I am fortunate to meet you." He extends a hand in greeting to Verdan and smiles expectantly.

apologies for the wonky order of things, I didn't want to be introduced as Nix and what with Paizo's editing there seemed little other way

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana is surprised to hear that there is an elven dragonmarked house. "Interesting. I have not heard of this House Phiarlon. But I suppose since the house was out of favour with the Undying Court that it was not spoken of in general society. I was not much of a historian I am afraid. This is something to look into later.

When they meet with Verdan, Mirana says, "It is a pleasure to meet you sir. I am honoured to meet with a respected member of the Dragonmarked Houses. I'm am Mirana Falataur, Bladesinger of Aerenal and the leader of this expedition of adventurers. If we could partake in the hospitality do your house, we would be most appreciative."

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

Bludgeon is not as talkative as his companions, and just manages a cold salutation when mentioned.
"Greetings."

He's clearly awkward when dealing with other people, and moves cautiously in fear of breaking something... or someone.
All these halflings... I'll have to watch my steps or I might stumble upon them, and my weight could seriously harm the little people.
It is astonishing how fleshlings care about their tattoos and lineages... such meaningless features just to further complicate things.

Verdan listens to everyone and then says Welcome everyone, Simon after your party is settled come and see me. I have some work for you. Your friends can help us by killing somethings in the Respite. We have an undead issue.
The party now gets to decide what they want to do.

Male Halfling Bard

"Ah thank you Verdan. Just point me to the direction of where my wife is and I'll be all settled."

Simon snaps his fingers to summon a few servants of the house.

"Alright show these people to their quarters, let them get situated. Ms. Falataur, Vul, Mr. Bludgeon, and Eldramon follow these servants. Meet me back here in One hour it looks like we have a job tide us over until we set off."

I know undead in a place with an altar of revival, it's mentioned in the city of stormreach book. Really good read if you get a chance.

Sorry for posting only short stuff. Been traveling still. We are stuck in Amarillo Tx till Monday so I will be posting more.

After Simon gets his guest settled, Verdan arrives at his house in the Enclave. Alhaura sends her warmest regards, she also has need of your friends skills sets. See the other day a Trakin a new arrival went to the lower tier of the Garden. He was there to fetch something for Alhaura. When he got to the shed in the corner, he noticed a light coming from inside the left corner. He moved a some of the stones and found a tomb, and of course there were some skeletons. We were able to stop them. We sealed off the shed, but Alhaura wants it investigated. She just wants a preliminary look. Can you find out if your group is willing to do it. We will pay them of course. Also as you know the whole sky city thing has had more adventurers looking in the jungle and getting hurt. So be careful so you don't end up hurt.

Male Halfling Bard

After meeting with his wife and telling her about his travelling companions Simon looks up to see Verdan. After listening to his words of warning he reaches into his breast pocket and grasps his holy symbol of the Host.

"I believe that we most certainly can do something about it. I will just have to confirm details with our leader. We will take a look inside and make sure there is no necromancer or dark magic afoot."

"Oh and I'll be sure to be careful with my quest. The thought of something like that could be amazing. The house probably has an interest in such a flying city I presume."

After unpacking, and putting his duster back on he heads out to the courtyard to meet with the others.

I'm just going to leave her out of this, Simon has a wife, it's not that important, I'd rather not talk to myself over a post and make myself sound crazy

Female Elf Duskblade 1

Mirana Falatur says "This does appear to be a quest worthy of our talents. If there is restless dead they will threaten the lives of the living. We should do our best to see that the undead do not cause harm to the people of this city. And helping one of the Dragonmarked Houses will certainly look good on our reputation."

Male Halfling Bard

Back in the courtyard Simon greets the others, responding to Mirana's words.

"At least for you, for me it's simply life in the enclave. We have some undead to clear out, and investigate why they were down in this part of the area."

Simons points out where the shed is and waits for the others to move before following.

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

The warforged prepares to stay in the frontline alongside Mirana.

"I trained specifically to face Karrnathi soldiers and their undead pets. My weapons of choice are especially effective to shatter the bones of the living and the dead."

He then proceeds to lock his shield to his left arm and wield his warhammer in the right, and promptly adds.

"If this crypt is ancient enough then there won't be any fleshy undead, or else I will require some sort of cutting weapon, such as an axe or a sword, or resort to my combat knife as a backup.
Against undead, my default rules of engagement are beat them into submission until they stop moving unless ordered otherwise, commander."

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

"and I will just blast them from a distance."
