Male Halfling Bard

Let's see, my shopping list, some kind of adventuring gear. Maybe we could all pitch in advice on things that we'll need. Personally I'd like to get a travelling conqueror set from Garay Gyriaz in the marketplace, stop by the temple of the Host in Forgelight (no matter how weird they are in Stormreach), and then get to the enclave.

I can't really think of too much that I need, masterwork thieves tools (potentially longspoon) would be nice.

An everlasting torch could be helpful and we could use a wand of cure light wounds or something equally healing-oriented. Any general purpose magic would be helpful.

Please take your time shopping. By all.means if you have backstory here let's explore it.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

I can hold a torch so others can use their hands for more martial tasks. I have no need for a weapon in most instances.

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

My whole body is a weapon, and an adamantine one at that, so...
Something about my backstory could happen during the mission later, depending on the importance of those memories... for now, I'm just happy to find something to do. Staying idle is boring, even for a warforged, especially after 3 days through the sky.

Male Halfling Bard

Man I love how 3.5 message worked. While it's normally on the sor/wiz list the cloistered cleric gets to add it to theirs. Very very handy since it lasts for 10 min/lvl with a target of 1 creature/lvl.

Male Halfling Bard

Man the last Eberron game I played in I was a warforged cleric of the becoming god. We had plundered a few xen'drik ruins and the gm began listing all of the stuff we had found. I had a headache that day and asked the party "Why exactly are we selling all of this stuff? Can't we just keep it in a house and have people pay us to look at it?"

Half a session later we had bought a mansion, filled it with artifacts, invented a sor/wiz 2 spell that would give a warforged the casters sense of taste, and we were still buying things. We charged scholars to look at all the stuff we found except the clothes which we gave to our multiclassed beguiler/wizard/ultimate magus.

M Humanborn

Nice haha

Before we battle with the undead I want to clarify something. I'm pretty impaired against the undead since mind-affecting effects are useless against them, but I believe that by RAW other illusions (glamers and whatnot) should still be effective. Meaning that if I make an illusion of a pit or a wall or something they would try to go around it. Does that all sound right and reasonable?

Male Wargorged Fighter 1

Fear not, my friend! My body-affecting effects will be useful, especially against skeletons :)
BTW, I too would think non mind-affecting illusions should work... an undead still has troubles finding an invisible creature afterall.

I will funnel them right into the killing machine that is you. Always good to have a plan.

Male Halfling Bard

I don't have the charisma for a good turning but I have a good amount of healing spells at my disposal.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

I'll stand back and blast

Sorry for not posting more our van died in Amarillo TX. Post more soon ty

Male Halfling Bard

Oh man, I hope you and your family are okay. Especially with the weather there over the weekend.

We are ok the van should be fixed by fries and we should get our destination by Wen at the latest. As far the illusion thing does I will set dc modifier and allow the caster to roll. After all you guys are heroes or villains so you should be able to perform above the average person.

Male Halfling Bard

So does anybody have any idea what the glowy runes might be? I'm going to take a guess at something to either preserve zombie flesh or maybe a spell to keep reanimating skeletons. That or just lights.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

yeah, i'd guess one of the latter two. or maybe signs of a shrine/temple to the keeper.

Hard to say really, they aren't a 'trap' because they're clearly visible but that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous all on their own. Proximity based damage, alarms, summoning/waking skeletons, fear effects, some sort of lockdown are all possible. Knowing more about their layout might help but there have been some solid knowledge checks thrown up, I'm sure one of you knows something.

I feel like the tombs are clearly where the skeletons are/will be coming from, so we should deal with those as proactively and safely as we can but the breeze worries me a bit, probably because it's the detail we can infer the least about; that and to me it implies something structural about the room that we'll have a hard time dealing with.

Male Halfling Bard

They could be any number of things, at the moment we can only speculate about such things. Our knowledge checks might turn something up, although they might simply be a large scale version of the lvl 4 spell that lets people make lightbulbs.

Well, damn. Our group, leader aside, doesn't seem to be particularly nimble at the moment.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

we must still be on our "sea legs"

Male Halfling Bard

Yeah I know, I have a decent dex too so I'm surprised I got that low. Well I did get some decent knowledge checks. The good come with the bad.

hey guys I made it Fort Campbell yesterday! Finally it has been a rough trip.
1 a good friend from work died before we left
1 blown tire on the freeway
1 3100 bill for van repairs
1 finding out my Grandfather has Cancer
1 then finding out that Grandpa died

I wanted to say thanks for hanging in there with me. I am blessed in the fact you guys showed up to this forum and kept my imagination going.

thanks
Ash

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

Damn that is a rough trip. I'll still be around if you take time off, take care of yourself.

Male Halfling Bard

Seriously take care of yourself, that is the roughest trip I've ever heard of.

Hey guys I am ok and so is my wife. I just wanted to say thanks for sticking around. You guys have been great for sticking around.

Male Halfling Bard

Man I can't believe I forgot to change who I was posting as in the game play thread, that's so embarrassing. Sorry about that

If only there was some way you could change your post a short period of time after you originally posted. Oh, well, that's crazy talk.

I did the same think earlier and just sat quietly, filled with shame and loathing (insert some fictional grammatical mark denoting hyperbole), so you've got company. You can decide if that company is good, bad, or ugly for yourself.

I'm sorry for my long absence, I've had a few really hectic days. I'm still here and involved. Don't have much to post at the moment though, as Nix basically agrees with the current path of continuing and finding out more before fighting a demon.

Hey Nix I am sorry for not posting sooner. I hope everything is well.

How is everyone these days? I got my house stuff and am working on unpacking it.

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

that's good.

i am looking for a new place to move to a few cities over. finding a place where utilities included in the rent is proving difficult, but it's hot here and A?C costs a lot to run.

So where do you live?

M Humanborn

Oahu

(i meant a few cities over from my current city, not your city. on re-reading my comment, i realized i could have come across that way)

Very cool Hawaii?

M Humanborn

eh, it's alright. i can see how visitors like it, but living here sucks.

Male Halfling Bard

I haven't been to Oahu, but I've been to Maui and Kauai . I agree that I could never live on such a small island.

I would love to live there in theory.

M Humanborn

the small island doesnt bother me, but the poor government infrastructure, sky-high energy bills and rent, and indigent populace really grate on my nerves.

I can imagine what do you for living Tenro? I am Soldier at 101st DIV.

M Humanborn

in the military for now.

afterwards, looking at taking some classes in 3d animation and modeling, see which discipline appeals to me the most.

cool what branch ?

Hey guys I will be setting the maps for fight etc this weekend. Are there any objections to roll20 or do I need to do google docs etc?

Male Halfling Bard

No objections, I have an account already since I run a game every Sunday

Human Warlock 6; AC 16 (18 with shield); HP 39/39; Saves Str +2, Dex +2, Con +1*, Int +0, Wis +4; Cha +7; Init +2; Passive Perception 9

Never done roll20 before what is that

Male Halfling Bard

roll20 is a virtual tabletop useful for running games when you cannot see each other face to face. It can be found at www.roll20.net and they have tutorial videos and much more.

Here is the link to the invite to the game maps Link to join
