Ollivor Myles |
Ollivor sees the tension between the dark elves and wisely doesn't say anything on it at this time, instead he nods at the suggestion, "That sounds wise. Perhaps withdrawing will lead to less chance of conflict. If it doesn't..well, the creature or person or whatever it is will have been given every chance and we need show it no mercy."
Harn |
Harn tried to get some sense of distance and direction to the creature.
Perception (remember his Keen Scent) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Oh, well... :P
Harn re-sheathed his kukri and took up his spiked chain, holding it at the ready.
"Well then, let's get out of here!"
Harn will go along with the group as they leave.
Xzevrra |
Xzevrra follows suit, keeping her eyes peeled.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Xzevrra |
Her mood having relaxed considerably from the walk, sours slightly seeing the tracks. "Looks like we aren't given many options." She turns to the ocean for a moment, then back to the jungle. "And frankly I don't like either one. What say you, chef de file honoré*?" she asks Zhimon.
Xzevrra |
"I'd hold off on the light for now, Ollivor. I'll give it another go, now that I have a better idea what to look for this time. And yes, I'll be cautious about it. Stay close this time, I doubt noise is going to give us away that easily. Otherwise, they'd already be on us."
Assuming everyone agrees, Xzevrra will lead off, asking the others to maintain 30' following distance. She'll look out for anything, particularly those plants from before. Head to the center of the island I think?
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 1 = 23
Xzevrra |
She gives Harn a smile before heading off, "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll rescue me again."
Zhimon Radsamhin |
Zhimon almost felt sorry for the orc. Drow females often killed those they bedded, some even ate them. Giving the orc a sideline glance.
"A bit of a reminder, but she has likely given that smile to many a victim. Don't confuse drow for elves or any race you know for that matter."
Xzevrra |
Zhimon almost felt sorry for the orc. Drow females often killed those they bedded, some even ate them. Giving the orc a sideline glance.
Okay, that's just ouch. Fairly true, but ouch.
Harn |
Harn turned to Zhimon as the female drow left.
With a sigh, he said, "It's not like she'd be interested in a half-orc. Especially one that looks like a full-blooded orc. Still, it's nice to have a lovely lady smile at you."
Shanosuke |
You creep into the jungle. Once in the jungle the ground begins to glow followed by everything else. The jungle seems to come to life. Nothing focuses on you though. You manage to get furhter still feeling stealthy. The jungle is not as noisy as it was before. If you are unafraid you move further in. Once the others enter the forest the noisy starts up again. You are unable to see what is making the noise.
The rest of you follow the trail left by Xzevrra. Suddenly the lights go on in the forest. When you finally enter the jungle amd the noises start up again.
Xzevrra |
Xzevrra waits for the others to catch up to her, a thought occurring to her. All playfulness is gone from her face as they approach. "The noise didn't start until you all entered the forest. Perhaps it's reacting to the sound you make. The lights may have some stimuli that turns them on as well. It may be a defense mechanism of the plants, a natural trap. I can't be certain of course. Ideas to overcome it, or shall we just keep going? "
Xzevrra |
Xzevrra moves forward, once again, attempting to find the source of the sound as she goes. The center of the island is her goal unless something else presents itself.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 1 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Harn |
"Well, we can try to be quiet," Harn whispered.
Stealth 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The half-orc attempted to move with stealth, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that carrying wearing a chain shirt and carrying a spiked chain is not a quiet affair.
Shanosuke |
Lol the merchant is stealthiest. Dats funny.
The source of the noise eludes you as yoj proceed forward. You also don't feel too stealthy. As you progress further, you are suddenly caught up. A sticky substance from above lances down to ensare you. I need a reflex save from you or be grappled. DC 14
The rest of you need to make a perception. DC 12 to see what happened in Xzevrra's spoiler.
Xzevrra |
"Not this time," she thinks to herself, quickly doding out of the way, bringing her rapier up as she tries to identify the source of the attack.
Refelx Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Shanosuke |
The luminous plants provide dim light.
Make me a new perception check.
You can make out a large spider way up in the gigantic trees that dropped a web. It has lights all over its body akin to the luminescent moss on the tree. It is camoflaged with the other lights. It is big and way out of reach if most attacks. It is currently pulling up its web.
Xzevrra |
"I could definitely use some against that thing." She calls back, pointing out a large luminescent spider above her. "In fact, I think we should take some cover from it. Any suggestions?" Xzevrra looks for some kind of cover against it's attacks.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Harn |
Harn cast about, looking for cover, while putting away his spiked chain and drawing his longbow.
Perception for finding cover from "above" Xzevrra. He still has no idea what is responsible for attacking her (stupid die roller...): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Well... I doubt the half-orc can give her any ideas about cover, either! :P
"Xzevrra, just tell me where to shoot!"
Xzevrra |
Yea, yea, forgot that one, lol. Not used to Drow yet.
Xzevrra complies, though annoyed that she did not think of it.
Harn |
:)
@ Shanosuke - I'll wait to do something until you OK it, but Harn's going to aim in the direction that Xzevrra is directing him to.
The half-orc aimed his bow to where the drow indicated.
