(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

Sgt Drakus grunts as the bolt punches through his armor into flesh. Looking uprange of the pointing bolt he points at parns with his trident and shouts.
"There he is! Get him!"
And then moves towards Parns to the limit of his move.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Once Sollus can see the straggler, he steps forward to within ten paces of the man and utters a incantation, commanding him in a firm tone to, "Approach!"

Command
spell, Will DC 14 to resist.

(CotCT GameMaestro)

Parns: Will Save 1d20 ⇒ 19

"Approach, oh I'll approach..." he shouts as he drops the crossbow in the muck and draws his longsword.

Marrala rushes toward Parns

(CotCT GameMaestro)

Everyone go ahead and roll for initiative. as we are once more into the breach! Though only for 12-18 seconds I assume.

DM:

Spoiler:

Parns: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Marra: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Panish mutters a prayer to Iomedae to help Drakus' trident strike true.

Aliandara Leloric wrote:

(CotCT GameMaestro)

will update tonight

(CotCT GameMaestro)

Initiative:
22 Marra
19 Sollus
18 Aliandara
15 Drakus
12 Panish
5 Parns

Marra charges in, bringing a wicked strike down at Parns with her Falcata. The attack hits Parns heavily, partially absorbed by the armor, there's a slight sound of cracking, whether it was the armor or bone, you can't tell.

ATK:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
DMG:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

When his turn comes around...
Sgt. Drakus charges up to Sollus...

or double moves towards him as the case may be...

...and makes a nonlethal attack with the butt of his trident.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 - 4 = 12
Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

"ALIVE, princess! Take 'em alive!"

(Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 5)

Sgt. Drakus wrote:

Attack: 1d20+7+2-4
Damage if hit: 1d8+3

"ALIVE, princess! Take 'em alive!"

"I'll take him down, if he dies, they can speak with the dead!"

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus makes a small adjustment to his position, hoping to at least serve as a distraction, unlimbering his mace and attempting to strike the man a nonlethal blow.

5 ft. step to attempt to provide someone with a flanking bonus. No greater movement, because he doesn't want to provoke an AoO.

Nonlethal morningstar attack 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (1) - 3 = -2
nonlethal damage 1d8 ⇒ 7

Hahahah! I rolled less than zero! I RAWK!

lol@Sollus

Panish keeps a tight eye on the fighting scene, making sure to keep a guarded eye on the other side of the street and the roofs - in case Parns secured allies.

(Female Half-elf Rogue 3)

Alianadara also runs up to Parns, trying to surround him with the help of Marra and Sgt. Drakus. Holding up her rapier threatening , but being more concerned to stop him running away and not getting stabbed to death either.

Basically Alianadara goes into flanking, or another position that helps with surrounding him, and fights defensively as she is still not wearing any armour. Without armour her AC is 16 but fighting defensively gives her +2 to her AC giving her AC 18

Attacking with Mwk Rapier while fighting defensively 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Are we waiting for something?

(CotCT GameMaestro)

update coming tomorrow, had a workday today, was hectic all weekend with the kids...sorry about that...every time I was going to update the game something came up.

Even Parns seems surprised at the incompetent blows he witnesses from the rest of the party. "Well princess, looks like you're the only real threat! Dead or Alive, ONE OF US!!"

Parns launches an aggressive attack at Marra.
Attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage:1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The attack lands solidly on Marra's Shield, pushing her back a foot.

Next Round.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Attempting to take advantage of his new flanking position, Sollus takes another swing with his morningstar, still pulling his blow, calling upon the patience of the Great Builder to avoid the foes taunts and remain calm.

"Turn yourself in, save yourself needless suffering, both now and in whatever dark place awaits your soul. If you live, you may yet earn redemption in this life from the fires below."

Nonlethal morningstar attack 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
nonlethal damage 1d8 ⇒ 5

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

Sgt Drakus grits his teeth and redoubles his efforts to take the prisoner alive.

Nonlethal Trident Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 7 - 4 = 12

Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

(Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 5)

"You butcher!" Marra shouts as she redoubles her efforts against the Cow Hammer leader, attacking low.

Attack:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

A powerful attack, it would have probably removed Parn's leg had it not been so evident where the attack was going.

Panish looks at Verek apologetically, "Our merry band is still not quite as coordinated as the guards, but I have high hope for them."

lol, that random number generator hates us ;)

(Female Half-elf Rogue 3)

Still trying to keep herself safe but still trying to help the other combatants by distracting Parns, Aliandara attempts another hit.

Did not add flanking bonus last time as I am not sure if I am flanking or not, this time I will add flanking and attempt to aid Marra's next attack

Aiding Marra's attack with Mwk Rapier while fighting defensively (DC 10) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

(Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 5)

Marra presses the attack, since her allies are with her. "You're a monster Parns, making others eat the meat of their own..."

Rolls:

Spoiler:

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

another attack that makes her look like a novice.

I hate d20s...2d10 is better.

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

"This bastard has the luck of the devil!"

Nonlethal Trident Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 4 = 10
Nonlethal Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

"Stay by the door Verek - I'll see if I can help." With that Panish rushes to the aid of the rest of the party.

Nonlethal longsword: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 4 = 9 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

lol - that number generator must have a high side. Let's hope it isn't only when the GM rolls...

"Pathetic fools, they sent you to take down the Cow Hammer Boys?"

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

But it appears Parns is as pathetic as the rest...his strike flies wide of Marra.

Top of round...again

Panish shifts a step into flanking - then attacks again:

Non-lethal longsword: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 5 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Crisis!lol

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus accepts that Aliandra has the better idea, and instead attempts to merely harry the foe, distracting him from Drakus' attack.

Aid Other, DC 10, add +2 to Drakus' roll, if successful 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Doh. Ain't that a kick in the head!

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

"AArgh!"
Nonlethal Trident Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14
Nonlethal Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Note that Sgt. Drakus did not include the +2 from aid in his attack roll; making his attack total "16". That should hit Parns. I hope.

(Female Half-elf Rogue 3)

Aliandara decides to brave it, as being a coward isn't getting her anywhere. She attacks Panish with no reservations

Attacking with Rapier with flanking: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damge: Normal damage + Sneak attack: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 1 = 4

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

This bastards luck is unreal; Sgt. Drakus decides to mix it up a bit. Subtly shifting grips on his trident, he suddenly sweeps it around in a trip attack!

Trip attack, (CMB): 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15

Seeing Sgt. Drakus' intentions Panish pushes Parns from the side, to distract him for a moment.

Aid for Sgt. Drakus trip attempt, DC 10 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Enough to throw off Parns' guard! ...and bring Sgt. Drakus' total to 17

(CotCT GameMaestro)

Aliandara Leloric wrote:

Attacking with Rapier with flanking: 1d20 + 8
Damge: Normal damage + Sneak attack: 2d6 + 1

Aliandara manages to get in a strike, slipping past Parns' defenses, slipping her blade into the back of his thigh, but missing any all the major arteries. Parns' has the luck of the devil it seems.

Drakus spins to face Aliandara, "Hah, nice move lass, how about this one?" As Parns levels a heavy chop at Aliandara's sword arm. However his swing is so heavy, it's easily avoided.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

(Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 5)

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

As Parns turns, Marra sinks her falcata's heavy blade into Parn's shoulder, tearing through his chainmail and and into his flesh.
"Back and forth, give it up Parns, or I will cut you down!"

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

Shifting his grip back;
Nonlethal Trident Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 4 = 20
Nonlethal Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus takes a swipe with his morningstar, having given up on nonlethal damage and attempting to brain the mocking miscreant.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Given the force he puts behind the swing, it's hard to tell if he's really got his heart in it...

(CotCT GameMaestro)

Drakus finally lands a blow to the back of Parn's neck, the villain staggers, then crumples as Sollus' attack impacts into the ribs of the staggered (HP0) guardsman...he crumples to the ground, unconscious.

Bout time...LoL

(Male Human Fighter- L5 | AC23 | hp 54/54 | Percep +0)

Wheezing a bit, Sgt Drakus leans against the wall, takes off his helmet and wipes the sweat streaming down his face.
"Gods! I hope we don't meet any more like him..."
After a round of rest, he puts his helm back on.
"OK, I'll tie this one up and haul him in. Now let's go before something else happens."
He proceeds to search, disarm and tie Parn up and carry him over his shoulder back to headquarters.

Panish checks on Parns' life Heal check, taking 10, to make 10 + 5 = 15

While doing so he notes: "Great work men. And ladies of course. Sgt. Drakus and Marra - nice team work there at the end. And you too Aliandara; you've done well to spot him before he could become a menace for us. And you took him on unarmored. That takes guts, I'm sure you make Iomedae smile with pride."

(Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 5)

Marra wipes the blood from her blade and sheathes it, "If I didn't kill Lamm while he was helpless, by Iomedae's Virtue, I'm not end'n this ones miserable life."

(CotCT GameMaestro)

With that end wrapped up, it takes you relatively little time to secure the prisoners, and with Drakus in full Guard Regalia, make your way back to Field Marshall Cressida.

"You've returned, with Verik and some of the other deserters I see, well done..."

"Guards, take them to the holding cells, confiscate all their property until the Courts Martial can be held."

"What else have you to report on this unfortunate incident?
