Girls and shopping... We'll get to carry the bags too.

"Ain't it the guy from the show with the hippie parents?"

"I'm down to go shoppin'! I'd love to get some better lounging clothes for the school. Maybe we could hit up an arcade after the movie?"
So excited to get out of this place for a bit and get back to civilization. It's been so long, I almost forgot what it was like. Jeez.

You are driven into town in a black van and dropped off, left to your own devices. The driver informs you that he will pick you up at seven PM, and gives you his pager number in case you need to contact him sooner.

You spend a few hours before the movie shopping on the Salem Glen Mall, a large selection of stores that all seem the same. But the place has a decent cineplex (SIX SCREENS!) a K-Bee, Spencer, and even a Radio Shack to go along with its clothing outlets. The sounds of the arcade sing their siren song as Jackson, Michael, and Vincenzo are dragged towards yet another GAP knock-off.

Three young(about 15-16), pretty girls are walking out of the store, and give a condescending look in the direction of Iz, Julia, and Alex. The prettiest of them says in a mock whisper. Someone's, like, slumming.

The other two burst into giggles. In unison, they chirp Like, totally!

Alex pushes with her powers to trip the lead girl. When she fell on the ground, Alex mockingly says "Someone's, like, tripping."

The girl falls to the ground, her bag of accessories ripping open and scattering. One of her "followers" laughs, Clumsy, much, Trish?

The other, however, gives Alex a dirty look and steps forward. Like, get your friend here to show you how to moonwalk away from this, tourist.

The first girl helps a snarling Trish up. Trish straightens her hair and then turns on her "friends" Which one of you pushed me?

Like, what are you talking about, Trish? You totally spazzed and fell.

NO! I felt it. One of you pushed me!

Like, why would we do that?

With the argument proceeding in the background, the girl who came forward is still staring at Alex, mockingly, challengingly.

Trying to stop the situation before it blows up, Michael puts a hand on her shoulder, though his nervous stutter gets the better of him.

C-C-C'mon Alex, it isn't worth it. Let's j-just go to the arcade now.

Vincenzo tried to meet the angry girl halfway.

"Ladies...no reason to fight," he said with his cheesiest grin. "There's enough of me to go around."

Aiming for a laugh to defuse things here, not seduction. And apparently the all-boys school didn't hurt too much... :)

Alex meets the girl glare square on and ignores the boys' attempt to defuse the situation. "And what are you gonna do about it if I don't? Push me like I saw you push your girlfirend? You must be real jealous of your queen bee if you push her like that, making a fool of herself in front of us 'tourists'."

Goddamn lying cow! I so did not push Trish. But I'm gonna push you. Like, push your ugly face into your tiny brain. her hands close into fists.

Trish yells Megan!! Is this, like, true? I knew it! You've always been jealous.

The third girl grabs Megan's arm. Trish, Megan, stop! Nobody pushed you!

Megan yanks her arm free, pointing at Alex. No. This ugly cow and her boyfriends crossed the line. There's gonna be payback. Bad enough she's a slumming tourist, but she's also dragging a

Trish and the third girl stare at Megan, their mouths agape, faces red.

*apologies for offensive terminology. Megan is a real piece of work. (Edit:Interesting what did and didn't get filtered out by swear filter.)

Alex's temper gets the better of her as this Megan is insulting her and her friends. "You can try to swing your fat floppy arm at me, but that will never get rid of the fact that you are just plain jealous of every girl that is prettier than your sorry excuse for a dressed up ugly troll. Your momma must be real sad when she gave birth to you. Why your prettier friends must hang out with you out of sheer pity." Alex swears right back at the girl.
She has been in situations like this one before and knows what to do. She readies to twist the girls push or punch about by using her powers to flip the girl right on her ass. It might look like a judo toss but Alex is using her powers for the flipping.
Alex can also be quite mean :p. She was queen bee after all. Could you give some details of the girls so Alex can pick out some physical imperfections?

Vincenzo saw red and had to remind himself that you didn't hit girls. If that thing counted. Some chicks don't.

"Whole reason you're here and not hopin' some knight leaves a twenty on a dresser is a wop found this joint, puttana. Or did I guess too much? Got change for a penny? Second thought, keep it. Bet you got diseases."

Sorry. He's not a very enlightened boy.

STOP!

For an instant, the beast side of Michael comes through, angered by the comments from both sides, rushing to Megan with speed not found in normal humans, almost seeming like he was going to attack. He practically roars out. But his recent training kicks in and what he says next is calm and even, turning around to Alex and the others.

"Stop. We don't have to do this. We don't have to escalate. And we certainly don't have to provoke them, Alex." His eyes flair, suspicious of what Alex may have done."Everyone, let's just walk away now and pretend the other party doesn't exist."

Jackson walks in between the tussle nonchalantly, sunglasses down and collar raised on his denim jacket. He places his right hand gently on Alex's shoulder while using his left to dismiss the other girls with a shooing motion.
"Yo, don't even sweat it, Allie. I'm sure these girls were on their way out. There's no need to let them ruin a good day for us"
He removes his hand from Alex's shoulder to lower his glasses as he flashes the girls a smile.
"Right, ladies?"
if Alex can read minds right now
Alex, you must be upside your head. We can't be causin trouble out here! We don't know what Prof would do to us if he caught us raisin hell with the locals... Besides, we all know you can take them all on. Where's the fun in that?

She is focussing on something else at the moment. We should agree on a codeword for turning it on, so that we can share thoughts when needed. Gonna wait for an action on that Amber to see how it plays out.

Vincenzo stood fuming for a moment even after Michael's yell. Ok, fine. Not worth getting in trouble over.

He shot the girls a disgusted look and pointedly turned away.

"I got better things to spend time on," he said.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Commoner 2

The first two girls grab Megan and begin dragging her away. Her face reddened deeply at Alex's words, and she is stunned into silence by Michael's roar as the others have their say. Finally collecting herself, she opens her mouth for one parting shot, but her voice is covered by a loud rumbling that sounds like a jet is flying just above the mall.

The building begins to shake and several skylights begin cracking under the vibrations.

Several of you spot part of a gigantic humanoid robot, flames coming out of its feet, landing on the roof nearby. The ceiling supports groan under its weight.

W-what the hell....?
I'm assuming that they'd realise this means danger. Would an insight check help at all against a robot?
After taking a split second to process what just happened, Jack turns towards the three girls, and rather sternly says to them
"whatever you're plannin' on sayin', can it and get goin' before y'all get hurt!"
Jackson then turns to his teammates as he removes his sunglasses and places them in his jacket pocket.
"Don't think this is one of Prof's test, y'all. Let's scramble before this gets messy."

Taken aback by the new development What is that?
He stands by Jackson, saying the next part quietly enough for only the group to here.
"What about the people here? If it's dangerous, we may be the only people here who can stop it. C'mon, this is what are training is for!"

He looks around furtively at the people around them(that I imagine are either watching or running)

Male Human mutant

Vincenzo said several words that would have to come up next Confession.

"The roof gonna hold that thing?" he asked no one in particular. Then he remembered that he was in a mall full of people.

"Hey everybody! Clear outta here before the roof caves in!" he shouted. What else could he do? Fire alarm. That'll get people moving.

Vincenzo looked for one he could pull.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

To clarify: when Jackson said "scramble", he meant "spring into action" as opposed to "let's get out of here". Should've probably picked better words. He's not the kind to back down from a challenge like this.
IF that thing is dangerous? No doubt about it kid, that thing ain't here to give us a ride home.
We might have to do this as "normal" as possible though...

Jackson motions towards his face, alluding to the fact that they currently do not have their disguises.
..until we can get everyone out at least

Alex's eyes widen at the sight of the gigantic robot.
"I'm not so sure we can take that big thing on our own..."
Alex looks around nervously.
"Also, we don't have our outfits with us, what if someone recognizes us?"

AKA. Isabelle "Iz" White; 15YO;

Although she remains unusually quiet through the altercation with the three girls, Iz backs up Alex throughout, shooting dirty looks at both Megan, and the boys when they try to intervene - she's always hated bullies like the b^*@h-queen, and is more than willing to show the stuck-up girl who's tougher.

As the sound echoes through the complex, Iz shoots nervous looks at the roof's supports. "What the %$#^ is that??" she shouts to the others. "Alex's right, we need to make sure we're not recognised! That's why the Prof. gave us the uniforms. Maybe we can find something in one of these shops? Like balaclavas or something??"

Reckless: Is there a ski or outdoor shop anywhere nearby?

(Well this could get awkward!... Iz doesn't take her normal clothes with her when she transforms.)

Megan runs screaming, and the other girls follow suit. Several nearby people see the robot and run. One boy, about ten or so, stares up at the robot, frozen with fascination as his mother tugs at him.

Vincenzo sets off the fire alarm and that gets even more people mobilized. Clerks begin to get people to exit their shops.

Meanwhile, the robot's head eclipses the sun in the nearby sunroof, drowning out its cheery bright yellow rays and replacing them with the eery red glow of its floodlight-like eyes.

Jackson and Michael notice amid all the chaos that

Spoiler:
two other skylights also have the red glow.

Insight can be used against robots, sure, but there will be a -5 penalty because of lack of facial clues, robotic stiffness of body language, etc. There is a sporting goods store three stores down and the store the three girls were leaving is an "accessory store" and has scarves for sale. Psyforce's Danger Sense is ringing a six-bell alarm of its own.

We have to close up. as Iz insists, he sighs, rolls his eyes and rings her up in a hurry, but practically shoves her out the front of the stre before pulling the gate down and heading for the exit himself.

As people move out, a few security guards move down the hall making sure people are leaving, pointing to the nearest exits.

Oh dear...That's a tonic-clonic.

Vincenzo took three quick steps before he smelled strawberries. Time slowed down. Warm darkness rose up behind him. His eyes rolled up into his head and he let out a hoarse moan as his limbs went rigid, shooting out away from him. Vincenzo hit the ground already shaking, first just his legs but then his entire body convulsing wildly as he rolled and thrashed. A wet darkness spread from the crotch of his sweatpants.

He's going to be very proud of his timing...

All this excitement around him is starting to set Michael's beast on edge.

Can't have me go full beast here. I wouldn't trust it around all this...prey He shakes himself a bit, shaking off the thought as well, just in time to see Twitch keel over.

Damn it, Vinny, you can't do this now! he growls out, purposefully striding over to Vincenzo, ready to move him out of the way if this goes south.

He turns his head back toward the robots, trying to figure out what targets they are going after.

She activates her shield ability so a slight shiver appears around her then it invisible. At the same time she telekinetically picks up a bench and throws it at the giant robot's head.

You've gotta be kidding me, Jackson thinks to himself as Iz hands him the sheer pink butterfly scarf, complete with lace and frilly bits. He gives it a toss to the ground when he sees Vincenzo seizing. Vinny! he yells out, darting towards the boy. As he runs over, he removes his jacket and begins to ball it up. He drops down to his knees to cushion Vincenzo's head, and, almost as if on autopilot, he begins to bash his hand against the concrete. He punches to the ground without restraint until a river of blood starts to drip down his fist. He takes a good long look around to make sure no one is watching

He tongued around his mouth for a moment before remembering that they had a giant robot or two to deal with.

Vincenzo picked himself up, trying not to think about how he smelled and wishing he had more than sweatpants or running shorts to wear.
