Sarasanna |
Sarasanna allows the shrunken Dakar to move ahead, estimating he would make a better scout with his doubly smaller size. She moves up to where Akkramar stands and then creeps ten feet forward.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
She watches as Dakar continues to advance, ready to spring to his aid should that be needed.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Sarasanna |
Com: All. I perceive to unidentified humanoids up ahead searching in the rubble. Dakar, do you see them as well? Query: Possibilities of their origins? They could be those that inhabit these tunnels, or survivors of the attack like ourselves. It is my intent to approach them in peace. What do you advise?
Sarasanna |
Hehe! Bot.
Sarasanna follows Dakkar's lead. She waits for him to move to the side, and once they are in flanking position, she begins to very slowly creep forward, listening carefully if either of the humanoids are saying anything or making any noise whatsoever.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Akkramar |
Apologies guys - work pounced and raked me this week, all in one... I'll have an update later today.
Akkramar |
Proceed at your discretion Sarasanna and Dakar, I will follow closely. - Akkramar retorts through the comm, inching further, making sure he is within charging distance of his companions.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Lord Manticore |
You are close enough to tell that the humanoids are attempting to lift a rock, a large one, but are having no luck of it. A moment later, you can see someone yelling at the rock, as if either the rock itself is sentient, or there is someone under it.
Ping.

1st: Detect Demon*2
DETECT DEMON (Demon Hunter's Handbook, pg. 26)
School divination; Level cleric 1, inquisitor 1, paladin 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, DF
Range 60 ft.
Area cone-shaped emanation
Duration concentration, up to 10 minutes/level (D)
Saving Throw none (see text); Spell Resistance no
You sense the presence of a specific kind of evil—that of demons, their servants, and the Abyss. The amount of information revealed depends on how long you study a particular area or subject.
1st Round: Presence or absence of creatures with the demon subtype, creatures possessed by demons, creatures under the effects of spells or spell-like abilities cast by demons, or creatures otherwise tainted by demons. Creatures tainted by demons include tieflings with demonic heritages, sorcerers with abyssal bloodlines, creatures affected by a succubus’s profane gift, creatures with demonic implants (see page 44 of Pathfinder Campaign Setting:
Lords of Chaos, Book of the Damned, Vol. 2), or creatures who have the Demonic Obedience feat (Lords of Chaos 8), and those under significant demonic influence as determined by the GM. This spell does not detect creatures of chaotic evil alignment who are not demons or significantly influenced by demons.
Additionally, this spell detects whether or not a portal or similar magical passage leads to the Abyss.
2nd Round: Number of evil auras shed by creatures with the demon subtype in the area, as well as the power of the most potent evil aura present. If you are of good alignment, and the strongest evil aura’s strength is overwhelming; if the creature has HD equal to at least twice your character level, you are stunned for 1 round and the spell ends.
3rd Round: The power and location of each aura, and what demon lord, if any, a demon is most closely affiliated with. If an aura is outside your line of sight, you discern the direction but not its exact location. Affiliation to a demon lord is only revealed when the creature detected is a demon (not merely a creature tainted by a demon). Demons receive a Will saving throw to resist revealing what demon lord they are affiliated with. If the demon succeeds at this saving throw or is not forsworn to a demon lord, you know only that this aspect of the spell returned no information.
Aside from what is detailed above, this spell otherwise functions similarly to detect evil in terms of aura power, lingering auras, overwhelming auras, and so forth.

I'm going off the idea that for whatever reason, Iacobus doesn't remember that he isn't human. At least not consciously. 'unit', the part of him that still recalls that 'he' is actually a created entity, created for a specific purpose is hoping that a 'hard reboot', I.E.: 'killing' 'him' will reset 'him' since Androids 'propagate' by dying of old age, spending time 'dormant', and then restarting with a completely new soul in the body. Please note, that means of propagation only works when they die of 'old age', not violence...
"Silence Tempter!!!" Iacobus howls.
Spurred to effort by this new, internal threat, Iacobus heaves, forcing every iota of strength that he has into moving the rocks off of him.

Sarasanna |
Ping. Sarasanna hesitates awaiting further instructions for the moment. Receiving transmission- from lost unit? There appears to be someone trapped under a rock up ahead. We may have limited time to act if we wish to help them.
Sarasana approaches cautiously toward the humanoids, being sure to keep some rubble between herself and them as well as maintaining a defensive stance. "Greetings. Are you in need of help?"
'Archie', Mk II |
As you stop your pushing and begin to calm down, you see glowing symbols flash across your vision, you currently have no idea what any of it means. The only thing that you can read is a line that says, 'Greyfang [beta] Communications Active' A moment later, you hear something; the voice is coming from your head, but has no clear starting point.
Com: Open: This is 'Archie,' is there another person on this bandwidth? Please respond on the same frequency if you can hear this message.
[ooc]Also, you might see everyone else writing to you using the Greyfang system. Given your character background, however, I am going to say that, for right now, you can only hear Archie's voice. Once we get you out from under the rubble, she'll be able to patch you into everyone else.
Lord Manticore |
OK guys, the way I'm going to play this out is that Iacobus cannot 'hear' anyone (via Greyfang), except for Archie, at the present time. All of you, however, can hear him just fine. If, in character, you want to 'talk' to Iacobus, via Greyfang, go ahead, but he won't be able to respond yet.
'Lann' |

Before you reach the point of talking to the humanoids, all of you can hear across your emergency channels, "Silence Tempter!!". As you are the closest atm, Sarasanna, you can also hear it audibly, although muffled and soft, coming from under the rock. The two humanoids also hear it, and are visibly surprised, backing up a couple of steps.
When they move back, you can then clearly see their faces. One, probably a female, has sores and tumors all over her face, covering most of her mouth. The other, a male, has a face that combines elements of an elf, a goat, and a lizardfolk. They both fall into defensive postures when you speak, but the male says to you, "Perhaps you can help, if your intentions are good. As you can see, and hear, there's at least two people trapped under there, one of whom is our friend."

Hearing Lann's voice talking beyond the rocks, Iacobus calls out. "Lann! Lann, have a care! I fear I may have been somehow possessed during the attack!"
He is still bellowing at full volume, but since the rocks are in the way, it sounds more like a normal speaking voice.
Akkramar |
Akkramar moves closer as Sarasanna addresses the humanoids.
We should act with haste - there are multiple units under the rubble? - he sounds through the comm while approaching.
"We have no further intentions but to remove these rocks, and release those beneath. We will respond to aggressiveness, but not start it ourselves" - he adds, waiting for their interloper's reaction.
Sarasanna |
"We are survivors of a recent demon attack on the city above. As my companion says, yes, we mean no harm, and we shall help you if there is need."
Com: all. Unknown humanoids do not appear hostile. However, they have deformed and mixed features belonging to multiple kinds of creature. Scanning for extraplanar traces. Proceed with caution until their nature is known.
Knowledge (Planes) - are these folks in any way touched by the planes- specifically the evil planes?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
She takes a moment to regard her halberd, then look at the stone again. She sheaths the weapon behind her back, and then removes her backpack, withdrawing a rope. "However, if your companion beneath the stones is at risk of being possessed, we must take measures to constrain whoever it is."
'Lann' |
Looking at the woman, and her friends before him, the 'mutant' says "We had a feeling that something had gone wrong upon you surface dwellers." He pauses, looking back at the pile of rubble, then turns back around. "There are two people in there; the first one was the third of us to man this watchtower. That is whom we are trying to reach. The other one came upon us only a little while ago, and was caught in the aftershocks, when the tower finally fell. We don't know yet how far under he is, except that our friend, Crel, can hear him and is talking to that person." With that, he turns back and starts trying to pull on the rocks, his friend following.
Sarasanna |
Com: all. No extra-planar influences detected. They appear to be of this world, merely mutated in some way.
Sarasanna glances at Akkamar and then Dakar, nodding to each. "Very well then. I shall help you, and the others likely will as well."
Sarasanna sets her rope down on her pack, and then she steps forward and begins removing rubble, tossing chunks aside, though occasionally turning a glance at the part lizard man just in case he tries anything with these heavy stones he is regularly taking in his hands.
Akkramar |
Akkramar moves forward and pulls/pushes against the stones left by the fallen edifice.

Right. So we are all going to help Sarasanna lift the rock...
At the same time, everyone make a Perception check (including you, Gabriel, but your results will be different)
Lord Manticore |
When you come to the area that was indicated, you can see a large cavern area, with a ceiling of at least 50' in most places. In the middle of the cavern, you can see what appears to have been a watchtower, almost all of it has been reduced to rubble. You can see several people around the rubble, trying to lift some of the rocks. Among them, you can see 2 more mongrelmen, and 3 humans! (or at least, not mongrelmen). You have options here: you were assigned 2 (redshirt) mongrelmen to help you (and to keep an eye on you). Let me know what you want to do. BTW, way to roll the nat 20!
Sarasanna |
"We welcome your help," Sarasanna says in a pleasant soprano monotone. Then she turns, bending her knees to lift another large item of debris.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Running... out of... bat-ter-y...
Akkramar |
Akkramar spins around to meet the newcomer, his combat chips active ina split second, hand reaching for the weapon at his side - at Gabriel's words, the pneumatic relaxes, and he turns again to the task at hand - "Let us do this then" - the android nods, silent in his effort as he braces against the rock.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

LOL just turn the crank a couple of times, you'll be fine. :p

Drya's Str check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Between all of you, the last of the rocks are lifted. Underneath, you see a pale, white, human, looking rather nervous, but unharmed. Lann walks over to the new guy and puts out his hand. "Good day to you again. Gabriel, is it not?"
Sarasanna |
Sarasanna nods to Gabriel and then studies the pale humanoid that was released from beneath the rubble.
"Greetings. You are now freed. However, before we are too familiar, were you the one who thought he may be possessed?"
She asks the question with a dangerous edge to her voice that is barely present, but still definitely there.
Sarasanna wrote:LOL just turn the crank a couple of times, you'll be fine. :pStrength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

She just might be a bit cranky for a while. ;D
Gabriel XIII |
Gabriel is tall by human standards, but not overly so. He's clad in reinforced leather of a dark grey hue that covers up his neck and to his wrists and ankles you presume inside his boots. His hands are gloved.
There is no pomp or circumstance about the man, giving an impression of what you see is what you get.
Akkramar |
"Yes, you were the one thought to be possessed?" - Akkramar adds, moving to retrieve the warhammer.
'Archie', Mk II |
Do I need to power cycle if I do that, Dakkar?
As all of you are getting to know each other, you notice that Archie and the escorted are slowly approaching as well. Lann looks concerned, and slowly shifts into a defensive posture. The 'redshirts' that came with Gabriel do so as well. Holding her hands up, showing that she is unarmed, Archie says "Hello there, we are with them." As she says this, she points towards Dakkar and the others. You can hear a sound of disgust coming from behind her, probably from Horgus.
Akkramar |
"We come from the surface - Kenabres has been attacked by a host of demons" - Akkramar relays - "The massive destruction opened a tear on the ground - we were unable to obtain a hold to stay aloft, and fell onto this underground complex" - he explains without hesitation - "I am Akkramar" - he finishes with a bow.
Sarasanna |
by getting sarasanna's motor revving...
Do be good now, dearie! ;b
Sarasanna's grim mask of an expression calms into an easy smile. "Though perhaps the one beneath the stones was merely hit in the head during the collapse. Such can cause one to hear strange things from time to time." She offers a helping hand to the humanoid still lying in the rubble. Once he is helped up, Sarasanna likewise introduces herself to Gabriel and the mongrelmen.
Standing to face Gabriel and others, she offers a curt nod. Although Sarasanna appears to be an attractive woman, her social manners seem to be lacking. She appears as one who would be comfortable in any wild land.
"It was as Akkramar says. Though there is more. We saw a bright light in the West, and I believe one particular fiend we saw was none other than the Storm King himself. Some dragon saved us- somehow- slowing our fall as the entire plaza where we stood was blasted apart." It may seem unsettling to some how calm Sarasanna appears, almost serene, as she tells the story without a hint of pathos.
Though the next part she says with practiced warrior's spirit. "I am Sarasanna, demon huntress. I am here to prove my worth against the hordes of the Abyss. I am here for vengeance."
Gabriel XIII |
Gabriel listens, then. I saw you from a distance, helping. These newcomers concern me... Though one of them seems to have trouble breathing.
If you attack, I will defend.
The man is lightly armed at best with shortbow, short sword and a dagger.
Akkramar |
"Why would we attack you?" - Akkramar inquires - "Have we not just helped those that concern you?"
Looking back at his companions, he adds - "We seek a path to leave these caves and return to the surface - perhaps we can come to a mutual agreement?" - again his tone is cordial, but objective.
