Molitor Rask |
"I'm in." Molitor rumbles.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Hearing Molitors words Tanrov himself speaks
"The balance needs to be restored so that the cycles of prophecy and death can function correctly again. I will fight with you as I can."
Any enchanting of items (weapons and armour?) or Mithril items? A wand of cure light wounds would probably benefit the group.
Marcus McCain |
Mol, update the loot sheet when possible to show Marcus' as the one carrying the evil outsider bane longsword and +1 breastplate.
Also: if we sold stuff, I'd probably be able to buy a full plate armor. Is everybody ok with me taking that amount of money?
Marcus bows before the Queen as he speaks "It is my duty and an honour to serve ye, My Queen."
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin bows deeply before the queen, "It would be my pleasure to put this blade to use removing the nonredeemable demon hoard and it's allies from here. After we retake Drezen will an occupation army follow us? I doubt we can hold it after we take it."
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
When Tanrov is at what passes for a quartermaster
"Can we hand in any trade goods we have and get a return for them? I need to know what resources we have so we know what we can buy."
He checks through our gear and presents the various pieces to the party in case they want it or have a reason to keep it.
Molitor Rask |
I'm ok with Marcus buying plate armor if we have the money.
Can we sell off the mundane/masterwork items we accumulated?
Even if we sell all of that, I don't know that we're going to have that much cash to throw around.
Molitor Rask |
Can it also be noted if we can sell loot?
Marcus McCain |
I do intend to return the Longsword... One of these days. Just in case I'll keep Kevin's scimitar and another of those which is already on my sheet. The rest of stuff we can sell and improve ourselves so we are proper damn heroes
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov will try and purchase a wand of cure light wounds and a couple potions of enlarge person if possible
"I will buy a curing wand and enlarging potions unless someone has a better idea?" he says before making a purchase
Xandarian Quartermain |
Xandarian doesn't have fundage for his wagon of booze, but with Sustained by Faith (Su), his immediate needs are met.
Molitor Rask |
A quick survey of the loot sheet reveals the following:
We have an unclaimed +1 longsword that I think Marcus will be downgrading to.
We also have an unclaimed +1 breastplate and unclaimed banded mail. It's not your dream of full plate Marcus, but will it do?
Assuming we keep the +1 breastplate and sell the banded mail + selling off all the other mundane stuff gets us to 4170gp or about 695 each.
We have 6 potions of Invisibility that could be sold off at 150gp each to goose us by another 900gp. That would put us at 845gp each.

OK, I'll assume everyone is ready to move on.
You hit the road at the head of the army of paladins heading for the fortress city and your artifact prize.
Moving along, you fight a couple of battles and your paladin army with you (and some NPC lieutenants) at the head easily curb stomps the opposition.
A couple of days in the railroad whistle pipes up and informs you that you are at a party stop. There's a chapel up on the cliff above you which most likely has a cache of useful items for your army so you should go explore it. It is reached by taking a tricky set of stairs up the cliffside.
I'll need climb checks for you to get up there (2 each). Make not of any preparations you to do avoid falling to your deaths.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
"My new ascension based powers seem to make me more certain in situations like this. I'm certain I can climb this well, do you want to have me lead the group with a rope tied around me?"
Tanrov will tie a rope around his waist and lead he will take 10 on climbing rolls for 18 climb rolls total. He will take 20 for 28 if possible.
1 Unwavering Skill (Ex)
You can always take 10 or 20 on class skills, even if threatened or in a hazardous situation. You can't use this ability with skill checks that don't normally allow you to take 10 or take 20.
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin looks up the cliff and whistles. "That is one heck of a climb. If you think you can make it up there unhindered then by all means lead the way and I'll follow. I'll need all the help I can get."
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
TheWaskally |
"Highly unsafe stairs. Great." The taldane grumbled.
Xandarian, having no skill at climbing, will take his sweet a$$ time by taking a 20.
drbuzzard |
From the skill rules:
When you have plenty of time, you are faced with no threats or distractions, and the skill being attempted carries no penalties for failure, you can take 20. In other words, if you a d20 roll enough times, eventually you will get a 20. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, just calculate your result as if you had rolled a 20.
As climb carries penalties for failure, you cannot take 20. Falling off counts as a penalty for failure.
drbuzzard |
You arrive at the ruined temple:
The gates to this small courtyard lie smashed and broken with tall grass growing amid the rubble. Two main buildings stand side by side to the east, separated by a single alleyway. The smaller structure appears to be a stable, while the other is much larger with several doors and stained-glass windows, apparently a chapel judging by the pious statues along its rooftop.
Marcus McCain |
Marcus draws both of his scimitars and advances a couple steps, trying to listen for hostiles.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
"Looks clear to me, fellas."he says turning to the rest "But keep your wits about you."
He then proceeds to enter the area.
Will move token asap, he enters room D1 until something happens or he is at the center. Whichever comes first
Xandarian Quartermain |
Xandarian feels momentarily dizzy from all the handwaving.
"How much you wanna bet this chapel has been defiled", rankled Xandarian.
Molitor Rask |
Everyone has 845gp, loot sheet updated.
Molitor looks for danger perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 (+2 for traps)
He drinks a Mythic Barkskin extract to protect himself. (+3AC, DR6/Magic)
If it looks clear, Molitor approaches the front door of the chapel.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov will take 10 on Per to get 21 This will be his default unless he is actively searching
Tanrov is keeping aware as he approaches D1 and the double doors with Marcus

Molitor Rask |

drbuzzard |
At most you can get 2 of the gargoyles. I picked two.
